Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode
Chapter 274: Few Months Later

Chapter 274: Few Months Later

After the events at the Ruin, time passed just like that with no major events happening.

Days blurred into weeks and weeks stretched into months. For Clyde, life became a relentless cycle of training and battle.

His days were spent going into the endless expanse of the Ruin.

The Ruin was a harsh and unforgiving place as always with many strange monsters left after the apocalypse – the Selection Stage, but it was also ripe with opportunity for growth.

Clyde hunted tirelessly, cutting down waves of monstrous abominations that prowled the shattered landscapes of the Ruins.

Each kill he did brought EXP to his System and making him closer to his goal of more power and strength.

He often accompanied by Leon, Lola, Wiley, Rosie, and Albert who also wanted to get stronger.

For the five of them, their shared the same battles and their skills complementing each other in moments of battles. But when their stamina depleted, they choose to retur to the safety of the Fortress while Clyde remained and keep hunting.

The five of them can’t help the difference of power.

He hunted alone under desolate skies, his stamina and resolve to keep become stronger far outstripping the others.

Long hours were spent tracking his prey through barren valleys and crumbling cities, the silence broken only by the clash of steel and the guttural cries of dying monsters.

His Elderglass Sword became an extension of his will and magic power, its ethereal glow become a constant companion to Clyde in the darkness and the lone time in the Ruin.

Months of this grueling routine making Clyde’s power rise to unparalleled heights.

When the System announced that he had reached Level 200, he paused briefly to reflect on the accomplishment.

His strength had grown exponentially, the fruits of his relentless efforts evident in every strike and every movement.

Yet, even with his power now, there was an unsettling stillness in the air.

Asqa who still deep in the Archangel Uriel’s domain had not sent any messages. Graemory remained silent while her motives shrouded in mystery.

Even the Demon King Asmodeus that once meeting him with seething with anger, had not made another move.

Clyde knew better than to mistake this quiet of his enemies and friend for safety. The absence of threats was its own form of danger. He could not afford to let his guard down.

Returning to the Sivagadh Fortress after another grueling hunt, Clyde’s exhaustion weighed heavily on him.

His living quarters were sparsely furnished but familiar, a small haven in a chaotic world.

He placed his Elderglass Sword carefully beside the bed, its hilt glinting faintly in the dim light. Finally, he allowed himself a moment of respite and collapsing onto the bed with a long drawn-out sigh.

For now, he could rest, but the unrelenting grind of survival would call him back soon enough. Tomorrow, he will go again.

In the desolate and fractured expanse of the Far North Dimension, the warfare in front of the Black Wall raged on without pause.

The Celestial forces, Angel and Demon, remained tethered to this grim battlefield and unable to go elsewhere. The ominous Black Wall loomed in front of them with its enigmatic and mysterious presence. Become an unrelenting reminder of the threat it posed. The threat which still unknown and that’s why making them more anxious.

For months, the wall had become increasingly active, spewing forth an ever-growing tide of monstrous entities.

These abominations that most likely forged from darkness and chaos, poured out in numbers that defied their comprehension.

Their sheer quantity forced even the mightiest beings form the Celestials, Archangels, and Demon to abandon their usual detachment and come into the fray personally. Not just ordering their soldiers.

Commanding troops from a safe distance was no longer an option for them now, this fight demanded their strength, power and their very essence.

On one side of the battlefield, Archangel Uriel stood shoulder to shoulder with Gabriel, the two radiant figures bathed in the ethereal glow of their divine auras.

The ground beneath them trembled with each clash of battle, the screams of soldiers and the roars of monsters blending into a cacophony of chaos.

Uriel’s jaw was tight, her golden eyes burning with barely contained rage. Her fingers flexed around the hilt of her flaming sword that was unseathed, the weapon pulsing in rhythm with her frustration.

Uriel’s patience had worn thin over the months of relentless fighting. She had always been a warrior first and her temper was short, her instinct telling her to to act quickly.

The endless unknowns surrounding the Black Wall gnawed at her, each unanswered question stoking her anger further.

She cast a sharp glance at the wall and saw its dark surface undulating like a living thing. She growled through clenched teeth and she declared her intent to charge straight into its depths and end this nightmare by force.

Gabriel placed a steadying hand on her shoulder. His expression was calm but firm, his tone measured as he reminded her of the stupid nature of such an impulsive act.

"You cannot simply charge headlong into the unknown, Uriel. That wall is a mysterious thing. We know nothing of what lies beyond that or what power fuels its existence. To attack it blindly would be mean that you inviting death."

Uriel responded with a sharp grunt, her frustration spilling over as her wings flared briefly behind her.

She hated the truth in Gabriel’s words but the stagnan endless defense grated on her.

Every fiber of her being screamed to act, to fight and destroy this looming incomprehensible threat.

Gabriel watched her with steady gaze.

"I understand your frustration," he said. "but your strength is needed here just like us. If we lose you, this battle becomes far harder to win if something strong suddenly decided to come out."

Uriel let out a long controlled exhale, her grip on her sword tightening and then relaxing.

For all her temper, she knew Gabriel was right. The Black Wall wasn’t something they could rush into blindly.

Still, the lack of answers was maddening her and the weight of their stalemate pressed heavily on her shoulders.

"Why don’t we send scouts inside to investigate?" Uriel suggested with tone that edged with frustration.

Gabriel arched an eyebrow. "You think we can bypass their defenses and the waves of monsters pouring out of that wall?"

"I don’t know," Uriel admitted but her golden eyes flickering with determination. "But if we use high-tier concealment magic and time it during one of their attacks, it might work. At least we’d be doing something. Sitting here blind and clueless is maddening!"

Gabriel regarded her for a moment, weighing the risk against the necessity. Finally, he nodded.

"I’ll discuss this with the other Archangels. Their input will be valuable before we move forward. Can I trust you to hold the line here in the meantime?"

Uriel’s wings shifted, her posture brimming with restrained energy.

"Fine. But don’t take too long," she replied.

Gabriel offered a small understanding smile before turning and walking toward the rear of his troops.

With a single gesture, he opened a shimmering portal, the gateway to his domain in Eden.

Without another word, he stepped throug.

Uriel watched Gabriel disappear into the shimmering portal. Then she turned again at the Black Wall and the battle.

The battlefield stretched endlessly before her. The Black Wall loomed in the distance.

She clenched her fists, her gauntlets creaking under the strain. The thought of waiting for Gabriel to deliberate with the other Archangels grated on her nerves.

She had always been a being of action and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Patience was not her strength, and this prolonged stalemate was a slow, insidious torture.

Uriel paced along the front lines. The soldiers nearby straightened as she passed, drawing strength from her fierce demeanor.

She paused at the edge of the line, her golden eyes scanning the horizon.

The waves of monstrous entities emerging from the Black Wall seemed endless, they just keep coming out.

A particularly massive beast, its form bristling with jagged black spines, emerged from the writhing surface. Its guttural roar shook the ground.

Uriel’s eyes narrowed, her frustration finding an outlet. Without hesitation, she surged forward, her flaming sword igniting with a brilliant blaze.

Uriel cut through the abominations with fury light. Her blade danced in arcs of fire and slicing through the dark flesh of her enemies.

"ROAR!"

The massive beast roared again, its spiked limbs crashing down in an attempt to crush her.

Uriel dodged easily then she leapt into the air. She descended like a comet and using her sword to cleave through the creature’s head in a single strike.

Black ichor sprayed across the ground and the beast collapsed with a final shuddering groan.

The soldiers cheered behind her, Uriel stood over the fallen beast. The flames of her sword flickered. Yet even in this moment of victory, her thoughts were on the Black Wall and the secrets it held.

The black ichor oozing out of her fire blade and turned back to the front lines of her troops.
