Entangled with My Ex's Uncle -
Chapter 91 Her Husband
Chapter 91: Chapter 91 Her Husband
He took a sample, wanting to verify if the other party was his biological son.
Chi Yue carefully packed the sample, preparing to go to another customer to collect a sample, but unexpectedly, this customer grabbed her hand.
"Miss Chi, you’re unfamiliar with this place. Why not stay at my place for a couple of days?"
Chi Yue’s face darkened, and she forcefully shook him off, sending him stumbling several steps backward.
After the customer stumbled back, he suddenly sat on the ground, pointing at Chi Yue and said, "How can you be like this? I’ve been swindled by you to the point of bankruptcy, aren’t you satisfied? Are you going to take my coffin money too?"
Chi Yue’s expression grew even more severe, "Sir, please don’t talk nonsense. If there is an issue, we can discuss it at the police station."
Seeing Chi Yue was not someone to be trifled with, the customer didn’t fall for her bluff and directly said, "You’ve ruined my family, led my wife and child away, and now seduced my child; how could you do such shameless things?"
More and more onlookers gathered around, with many looking at Chi Yue with disdain.
Some even pointed at her and whispered something.
Chi Yue maintained a calm demeanor and unhurriedly took out a voice recorder from her bag, pressing the play button.
The man’s ingratiating voice mixed with inappropriate remarks was met with Chi Yue’s professional tone, which, in just a few sentences, punctured the man’s lies.
The man’s complexion drastically changed, and he tried to run, but was surrounded by people.
"Trying to escape? A toad lusting after a swan’s flesh?"
"Exactly! If it weren’t for the girl’s cleverness, she would have been done for by you."
"So, you’re that guy whose wife cheated and ran away with the son? Just look at yourself; are you afraid you’ll have nobody to continue the family line, so you’re desperate to prove that the child is yours?"
"Unbelievable, committing such acts in broad daylight has been an eye-opener for me."
"Miss, are you all right?" a woman took her hand, "If he threatens you, just call the police. My son works at the police station; I’ll call him later to ask him to look out for you."
Chi Yue’s mood settled down, and she softly said, "Thank you, Auntie. I’m fine."
"That’s good to hear. Hurry along; we’ll hold him back."
Chi Yue nodded.
As she turned around, she suddenly saw Fu Rao leaning against the car door on the side of the road, his complexion somber. She didn’t know how long he had been there.
When Chi Yue passed by him, Fu Rao called out to her.
"Chi Yue."
Chi Yue stopped, "Is there something you need?"
Fu Rao’s gaze was complex, "How come you’re here?"
"On a business trip."
Fu Rao narrowed his eyes, "Is your company out of people? Sending you on a trip alone?"
His glance meaningfully swept in the customer’s direction.
Chi Yue remained unflustered, "It’s an order from above. If there’s nothing else, I need to meet the next customer, goodbye."
Fu Rao asked, "Get in the car, I’ll take you."
Chi Yue: "It’s not on the way."
"Today, wherever you go, we’re on the way."
With the conversation having reached this point, Chi Yue would anger Fu Rao if she refused again, so she gave in.
Yet the moment she opened the car door, she regretted it.
In the back seat, the cold and noble man looked her way, exuding an oppressive aura; she immediately let go of the door, "I just remembered I didn’t arrange a time with the client for today, never mind then."
Chi Yue walked away without looking back, not letting Fu Rao say another word.
The hotel she was staying in was just on the next street, crowded and bustling. Most importantly, it had strict management.
Chi Yue was not afraid of the customer coming to find her, but Fu Rongyin did come looking for her.
Through the peephole, Chi Yue watched the man standing at the door, her gaze utterly unaffected.
She had no intention of opening the door, and the man didn’t leave.
The two of them stood in a deadlock like this.
After an unknown amount of time, Chi Yue received a call from the front desk, saying her husband had forgotten his key card and asking her to open the door.
