Fu Rongyin was flanked by a woman on each side, both diligently offering him tea and water.

Perhaps it was his excessively cold demeanor that made the two women hesitate to approach any closer.

Chu Shuo, accompanied by Chi Yue, walked over and said to the woman on Fu Rongyin’s right, "You, switch places."

"Not yours?" The man across studied Chi Yue up and down with unrestrained interest.

Just as he was about to speak, Chu Shuo doused him with a cold remark, "She belongs to Master."

The man’s expression slightly flustered, "Ah, Master’s woman, then it’s no wonder. Only Master deserves such a national beauty."

Fu Rongyin’s hand had unknowingly settled on Chi Yue’s waist, shielding her in a possessively embracing posture.

Chi Yue tensed up, as if she would flee the next second.

She noticed the woman beside Fu Rongyin still showering him with attentiveness like before, possibly because she had diverted Fu Rongyin’s attention, the woman brushed against him several times without eliciting any reaction from him.

Chi Yue pursed her lips and remained silent.

Fu Rongyin was discussing business with others. Not understanding, she took out her phone to text Nan Bingyu.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when a warm breath blew on her face and she subconsciously put away her phone.

A gentle voice whispered in her ear, "Want to leave?"

Chi Yue asked, "Are you done here?"

Fu Rongyin, holding her, stood up without a word when Chu Shuo already took over the conversation with a laugh.

"Look at you hurrying, alright, go ahead, I’ll handle the rest here."

The other men also jeered along.

Men of their circle had an unspoken understanding about going out together, which was why Chu Shuo wasn’t worried about bringing Chi Yue along, as it precluded any risks of exposure.

After leaving, instead of going home, Fu Rongyin took her to a restaurant.

Chi Yue asked, "Haven’t you eaten?"

Fu Rongyin countered, "Have you?"

Chi Yue: "..."

Indeed, she had almost forgotten she hadn’t had dinner yet. She didn’t feel it while in the private room, but now realized she was extremely hungry.

After eating, Fu Rongyin took her to the hospital.

Chi Yue thought they were going to see Fu Hanyan, but instead, Fu Rongyin asked her to wait in the car. Soon, she saw him coming out with a bag.

Once in the car, he handed her the bag.

It was the medicine she had been taking for treatment.

The next morning, before leaving, Fu Rongyin told her, "I’ll be out of town for a few days. If you need anything, contact Chu Shuo, or if you’re really worried, stay with Xiao Yan."

Chi Yue joked, "Are you asking me to protect Miss Fu, or is Miss Fu supposed to protect me?"

"Neither, I have arranged bodyguards there; they won’t let you get hurt."

"You’ve arranged everything, how can I not comply?"

Fu Rongyin looked at her intently for a while, then pressed her against the entranceway and kissed her deeply, "I will come back as soon as possible."

Chi Yue’s heart raced, "No need, just sort out the matters as soon as you can."

She was referring to the issues with Xi Yihang.

Whether Fu Rongyin misunderstood or what, he didn’t reply.

That night, after work, Chi Yue took a taxi to the hospital.

Standing at the door of Fu Hanyan’s ward, Chi Yue heard the voices of Xu Zhenwen and Fu Hanyan inside.

"If you see him again tomorrow, I’ll make sure you never see him again!"

Chi Yue was slightly startled, that was Xu Zhenwen’s voice.

She’d never heard Xu Zhenwen this furious before.

Then came Fu Hanyan’s surprisingly calm voice, "Are you going to force hypnotism on him like you did with Chi Yue before, to make him completely forget about me? But you weren’t successful, were you? My brother and Chi Yue are still together."
