Chapter 80: Chapter 80 As long as I am not willing, you can’t get rid of me

Lola Gold sent the message and continued to break up the fight.

"Stop fighting, stop fighting!"

She was terribly anxious, but both men were seeing red, and she dared not step forward.

This morning, shortly after Yolanda left the house, Christopher Coldson called, asking Lola to go out with him.

These days, due to Jenny Reyes’s marriage, Lola found herself thinking about her own situation, and she wasn’t feeling well, so she lied about needing to accompany Yolanda.

Who would have guessed that Christopher had been waiting downstairs at her house all along, already aware that Yolanda had left?

Soon after, Christopher showed up at her door.

After their intimate time together, while Lola was taking a shower, someone knocked on the door—it was Cooper Coldson.

Unexpectedly, Christopher opened the door.

Exactly how the fight started, Lola didn’t know. When she came out of the bath, she found the door open and Christopher gone.

After she changed her clothes and heard someone downstairs yelling to stop the fight, she realized those two had started brawling.

Yolanda, after seeing the message, jumped out of her car and ran back. As she entered the neighborhood, she saw a crowd gathered.

She finally managed to squeeze through and, sure enough, saw Cooper and Christopher.

At that moment, both men were bruised, and there were people around filming.

"Yolanda!" Lola shouted.

The two women exchanged a knowing glance. Yolanda grabbed hold of Cooper, and Lola grabbed Christopher, finally pulling them apart.

"Yolanda, you take Cooper away first," Lola called out loudly.

"Can you handle it alone?" Yolanda was worried as Lola really didn’t like Christopher.

"Don’t worry," Lola nodded.

Yolanda’s eyes shadowed with doubt because, at that moment, Lola was shielding Christopher behind her, and they seemed... unusually close.

She didn’t have time to think more about it, pulling Cooper quickly to his car.

Richard Reyes had been waiting in the car and was horrified to see his boss injured, "Ma’am? What happened? The boss, he..."

"Let’s go to the hospital first." Yolanda wasn’t sure exactly what had happened.

"No hospital," Cooper was adamant like a rock.

Richard immediately suggested, "Ma’am, we have a first aid kit at home, shall we go back first?"

Yolanda sighed helplessly, "Okay."

The car sped towards the Coldson’s villa.

No one spoke during the drive.

Arriving at the villa, Richard watched as Cooper and Yolanda got out of the car, thought for a moment, and then snuck away.

He felt he was superfluous at that point.

Jasmine King, hearing the car, came out to greet them and was horrified to see Cooper’s condition.

"What happened to the master?"

Yolanda snorted, "Acting like school kids, fighting."

"It’s all because of you!" Cooper couldn’t help but roar.

If Melissa hadn’t told him in the morning that she had seen Christopher going to Lola’s house to look for Yolanda, why else would he have gone to Lola’s?

Indeed, when he arrived, it was Christopher who opened the door, looking disheveled.

Thinking about it, he was furious.

"Because of me?" Yolanda was puzzled, "Your immaturity has nothing to do with me."

Cooper stood up, his voice carrying a hint of grievance, "Yolanda, we aren’t even divorced yet. How can you get involved with my uncle? Have you no shame?"

Yolanda felt even more aggrieved, "What do you mean getting involved with your uncle? What are you talking about? I went to Jenny’s wedding this morning."

Cooper was instantly stunned, "You... weren’t at Lola’s?"

"Uncle went to Lola’s?" Yolanda also sensed something was off.

Both sat back on the sofa, silent, both looking deeply troubled.

Jasmine returned with the first aid kit, feeling the tense atmosphere.

She hesitated for a moment, "Ma’am, the first aid kit is here."

"I’ll do it." Yolanda’s emotions were tumultuous. Some things, she wished wouldn’t happen, but it seemed beyond her control now.

Lola had no so-called prospective match; she was with Christopher.

So, all the times before, when Christopher took care of her, it was because of Lola.

But... would Christopher marry Lola? Would the Coldson family accept her?

Thinking this, Yolanda felt even more upset, applying more force.

Cooper gasped in pain and quickly dodged, "Yolanda, are you trying to murder your husband?"

"Sorry." Yolanda glared at Cooper: None of the Coldson men were good.

"I’m telling you, whatever is going on between uncle and Lola has nothing to do with me. Don’t take it out on me," Cooper said with an expression of being wrongly accused.

Yolanda, giving up, set down what she was holding, "Then tell me, if your uncle wants to marry Lola, do you agree?"

"I don’t agree," Cooper answered decisively.

"Despicable man!" Yolanda was furious, getting up to leave, "You two might as well beat each other to death. There’s not a good one among you."

She stormed out after cursing.

Cooper muttered indignantly behind her, "You’re upset with my uncle, so why lash out at me? Take back what you said."

Yolanda ignored him.

She went straight back to Lola’s home, but Lola hadn’t returned yet.

She thought for a moment and sent Lola a message on WeChat.

[Lola, I’m back. Waiting for you.]

Lola, mind you, knew her relationship with Christopher couldn’t be hidden anymore, and upon receiving the message, she started crying softly.

"What are you crying for?" Christopher was displeased.

Lola turned and scolded him, "You knew it was Cooper outside, why did you go to open the door? Now look, Yolanda knows everything."

"So what?" Christopher was still unconcerned, "My nephew knows now, soon the whole Coldson family will know, who cares?"

"Christopher, do you even have a heart?" Lola bit her lip hard, but tears still flowed.

"Heart?" Christopher chuckled softly, "What does it matter to you whether I have a heart as long as I have money? Isn’t that what you want?"

Lola stared at him, the man before her both familiar and strange, feeling like she was suffocating.

It was her fault, she was despicable!

From the start, their relationship was transactional, based on money and desire; she had secretly fallen for him. What more could she possibly hope for?

"What’s wrong?" Christopher looked at her and chuckled, "Lola Gold, don’t look at me like that. I might think you’ve fallen for me."

"In your dreams!" Lola fiercely wiped her tears.

She would never admit it, this was her last shred of dignity.

"Christopher, your money, I will find a way to repay you. Please don’t look for me anymore."

Christopher narrowed his eyes dangerously, "What did you say?"

"I’m grateful to you for saving my mother. I will repay you, to the penny, just give me some time." Lola finally made up her mind, she had to leave this man, to extricate herself while she might still have a chance to live.

"Heh..." Christopher stepped closer and gripped Lola’s chin, "Listen well, Lola Gold, we’ve signed a contract; unless I want it to end, you can’t escape me."
