Entangled with My Cousin's Fiancé
Chapter 77: The Great Nephew Is Jealous for His Wife

Chapter 77: Chapter 77: The Great Nephew Is Jealous for His Wife

Christopher Coldson laughed with irritation, "My dear nephew, are you jealous of your own wife?"

"I’m not that petty," Cooper Coldson said coldly as he stared at Christopher Coldson, "I just wanted to remind my uncle that Yolanda Greenwood will soon no longer be a Coldson Family member. It’d be better if you kept your distance from her."

Christopher Coldson’s right cheek twitched in amusement, "She’s not part of the Coldson Family, and she’s certainly not yours, Cooper. Who she wants to be with is none of your business."

Having put Cooper in his place, Christopher sauntered into the ward, humming a tune with his hands in his pockets.

Cooper’s face turned extremely ugly. When he had arrived earlier, he had seen Christopher and Yolanda Greenwood tugging at each other as they left the hospital.

He had never known the two of them to have any sort of private relationship, let alone have breakfast together.

A rage burned within him.

Of course, Cooper wasn’t jealous; it was merely the worry that if their interactions became known, it might attract unwanted gossip for the Coldson Family.

Cooper believed that as the Family Head, he had the right to protect the Coldson Family’s reputation. That’s why he was angry.

Yes, it had to be!

Inside the ward, Old Master Coldson was throwing a tantrum again, refusing all examinations and demanding to be discharged.

"Dad!" Isabella Ross said with a sense of helplessness, "At least finish your checkup. If the doctor says it’s ok, we will leave the hospital."

"I know my own body better than any doctor, hurry up and process my discharge," the old man stubbornly insisted, not heeding to any advice.

"Grandpa," Cooper returned to the ward, "stay for two more days, just the last two. If there are no issues, we can go home."

Old Master Coldson lay back down, grim-faced but no longer resisting.

Cooper consoled Isabella Ross, "Let it be. If Grandpa doesn’t like those machines, then we won’t do any examinations. Observing for two more days should be fine."

"That’s all we can do," Isabella Ross sighed softly, "People really become like children when they get old, so headstrong."

She went on to speak highly of Melissa Greenwood and confirmed with Cooper, "When do you plan to go through the procedures with Yolanda?"

"As soon as Grandpa is discharged."

Isabella Ross glared at him, "Don’t keep dragging it out. A girl’s youth is fleeting, don’t make Melissa wait any longer."

After speaking, she turned and went back into the ward.

"Yeah," Christopher suddenly appeared.

He looked at Cooper with a smirk, "A girl’s youth is indeed fleeting, and Yolanda can’t wait either. If you’re going to divorce, do it quickly."

He walked off with hands in his pockets and long strides, unconcerned about his nephew’s sour expression.

Two days later, Old Master Coldson got his wish to be discharged.

When Melissa Greenwood heard the news, she told Jaxon Greenwood that she would go to see him off.

"Wait a moment!" Jaxon called after her, "It looked like your mother’s hand moved. Go get the doctor; she might be waking up."

"Really?" Melissa immediately grew tense, staring unblinkingly at Gemma Morgan’s hand, "Dad, are you imagining things because you want Mom to wake up?"

"It’s not possible," Jaxon said firmly, "Hurry and go."

Indeed, it was not possible. Melissa also saw Gemma Morgan’s fingers twitch.

"Okay, I’ll go right now." Melissa was sweating with urgency.

As she went to find the attending doctor, she also thought of a plan. Gemma Morgan could not wake up; if she did, Jaxon’s temper might have Melissa thrown out of the house.

She soon found Gemma Morgan’s attending physician, Easton Watson.

"Dr. Watson," Melissa closed the office door behind her and handed over a card, "This is one million."

Easton Watson’s eyelid twitched. He had been a doctor for a long time but had never had someone give him a million dollars in one go.

He looked at Melissa Greenwood, undecided, "Miss Greenwood, rest assured, I will spare no effort in treating your mother..."

"That’s not it," Melissa interrupted him, "Dr. Watson, there are some special circumstances in my family right now, and I hope my mother does not wake up for the time being."

"What?" Easton Watson was even more surprised, "What do you mean, Miss Greenwood?"

"Dr. Watson, please help me," Melissa pleaded in a low cry, "My mom and I have some misunderstandings. If she wakes up, our conflicts will only worsen."

She clutched desperately at Easton Watson’s sleeve, "Dr. Watson, I just need a little more time to find evidence for some things, can you help me?"

Seizing the moment, she slipped the card into Easton Watson’s pocket.

Easton Watson was conflicted but the temptation of a million dollars was immense, "So, I just need to ensure she doesn’t wake up, is that it?"

Melissa nodded, "Yes, thank you, Dr. Watson."

Easton Watson went with Melissa to see Gemma Morgan. When they arrived in the ward, Nurse Lynn Gage was also there.

"Dr. Watson," Lynn was somewhat joyful, "Aunt Morgan is recovering well, showing signs of waking up."

"Is that so? Let me check," Easton Watson pretended to examine Gemma with equipment, "The condition seems to be improving, but for her to wake up, it would probably still take a while."

"Is that so?" Lynn felt something wasn’t quite right.

"What would a nurse know?" Easton Watson glared at Lynn with a warning look.

Lynn had no choice but to keep quiet and not say another word.

"Mr. Greenwood," Easton Watson turned to Jaxon, "Your wife is indeed recovering well. I’ll prescribe a new round of medication for her tonight, she should wake up soon."

"Good, thank you, doctor," Jaxon thanked him profusely.

After returning, Easton Watson gave the new prescription to Lynn.

Lynn glanced at it, "Dr. Watson, is this for Aunt Morgan?"

"Is there a problem?" Easton Watson looked down at Lynn, "Nurse Gage, remember your place. When you become a chief physician, then you can question me."

"Yes, Dr. Watson." Lynn did not dare say more and went to administer the medication to Gemma Morgan according to the prescription.

But she couldn’t help but feel a doubt in her heart; the medication prescribed to Gemma Morgan seemed much weaker than before.

During these days, Yolanda Greenwood had been staying at Lola Gold’s place, and now, her left-hand painting was nearly indistinguishable from her right-hand work. Moreover, she managed to illustrate Old Master Coldson’s dreams in her art.

Having chatted with Lynn Gage, she found out Old Master Coldson had been discharged.

"Lola," Yolanda considered giving the painting to the old man, "What do you think about asking my uncle to help?"

"Ah?" Lola Gold appeared a bit flustered, "Why involve your uncle?"

Yolanda shared her thoughts and discussed with Lola Gold, "Do you think uncle will help? He seems strange to me, not at all like a Coldson Family member."

"Really?" Lola wrapped her arms around her knees, her eyes lifeless as she stared ahead, "How so? What are the Coldson Family members like?"

"Coldson members are much like Cooper, businessmen through and through, everything boils down to profit," Yolanda said through gritted teeth but couldn’t help defending the old man, "But Grandpa isn’t like that."

Lola looked puzzled, "But hasn’t the Coldson Family been built by Old Master Coldson himself?"

"Yes," Yolanda nodded, "Maybe he used to be profit-driven too, but not anymore."

"What about Christopher Coldson?" Lola mentioned the name, her voice trembling.
