Chapter 64 Isabella Ross Brings Medicine to Cooper Coldson

Chapter 64: Chapter 64 Isabella Ross Brings Medicine to Cooper Coldson

Cooper Coldson left, and Richard Reyes soon came.

Yolanda Greenwood stayed by the lakeside with Old Master Coldson for a while before deciding it was time to head back.

On the way home, Old Master Coldson seemed listless, a stark contrast to his earlier excitement.

"Grandpa," Yolanda deliberately tried to cheer him up, "today was truly a blessing thanks to you. I haven’t had this much fun in ages."

Old Master Coldson turned to look at her, his face filled with affection, "Really happy?"

Yolanda nodded earnestly.

In the past year, she hadn’t even had a day out, let alone a relaxed meal sitting together with Cooper.

"Even when that rascal left halfway?" Old Master Coldson became increasingly irritated the more he thought about it, and his tone grew much harsher.

"It’s okay." Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth, "Sometimes, the outcome isn’t so important. As long as I’ve enjoyed the journey, I’m satisfied."

"Silly girl." Old Master Coldson tenderly stroked Yolanda’s head, showing his deep concern.

After they got home, Isabella Ross was already standing at the door with a cold expression.

Richard wanted to carry Old Master Coldson, but the old man refused, so Richard and Yolanda supported the elder together.

"Grandpa, take it slow!" Yolanda gently advised.

"Who gave you the nerve?" Isabella Ross glared at Yolanda fiercely, "If anything had happened to Old Master Coldson..."

"I’m fine, aren’t I?" Old Master Coldson interrupted Isabella.

"There’s always a ’what if,’" Isabella said gravely, "Dad, you’re not at an age to take risks."

"Blame your son if anything happens," Old Master Coldson staunchly retorted, "It was your son’s idea."

"How could that be?" Isabella Ross couldn’t believe it for a second, "I know Little Cooper’s temper. He would never do such a thing."

Old Master Coldson was adamant, "Ask him yourself."

Isabella then turned to Yolanda, "Come to my room later."

"That’s not happening." Old Master Coldson was protective of Yolanda in every aspect, "I need to talk to Yolanda. Yolanda, come upstairs with me."

Isabella looked helpless, "Dad, keep spoiling her. Sooner or later, you will regret it."

"Yes." Surprisingly, Old Master Coldson, already ascending the stairs, stopped.

He looked back at Isabella, "Sooner or later, someone will regret it, but whether it’s you, your son, or even me, we shall see."

Old Master Coldson led Yolanda upstairs, "Go change your clothes first, and come to my room once you’re ready."

He added in a lower voice, "Rest well before you come."

"Thank you, grandpa." Yolanda gratefully went to her room.

When Richard descended the stairs, Isabella stopped him.

"Greetings, ma’am."

Richard was utterly respectful. This former matriarch of the Coldson Group demanded respect from everyone.

"Has our President not been going to the office lately?"

"This is the first time," Richard bowed slightly, "The President works incredibly hard every day, much harder than any of us. Sometimes, it’s good for him to relax."

Isabella shot him a sharp glance, "What’s the matter? Afraid I’ll mistreat my own son?"

"You jest, ma’am." Richard bowed his head, "Everyone knows how much you care about the President."

"Alright, off you go." Isabella waved her hand to dismiss him.

In truth, Old Master Coldson was right about one thing; no one could influence Cooper. If it was something he didn’t want to do, no one could force him.

Thus, Cooper’s behavior today was indeed out of the ordinary.

This was not a good sign.

That night, as soon as Cooper returned to the family mansion, Isabella called him to her room.

"Mom, it was my idea to take grandpa out today."

He confessed without coercion, "It’s rare for grandpa to feel like going out, and I thought it was a good idea."

Isabella looked at him seriously, "Then why didn’t you inform Mom in advance so I could arrange it properly? Why did you have to sneak around?"

"..." Cooper Coldson said nothing.

"It’s because you know it’s wrong to do this, mom wouldn’t agree," Isabella Ross answered for her.

"Mom!" Cooper Coldson lowered his head, "I’m sorry."

"You don’t need to apologize to mom. Today, your grandfather came back safe and sound. If there had been any mishap..."

Isabella Ross let out a heavy sigh, "An apology would be useless to anyone."

"You’ve grown up," she looked towards the window, "You have your own ideas now, and you don’t want to listen to mom anymore. But don’t forget how you got to where you are today."

Cooper Coldson still hung his head, his straight back showing a barely perceptible defiance.

Isabella Ross understood her son and knew when to stop pushing further.

At least for now, Cooper Coldson was still within her control. If things got too heated, she might really lose her son.

"That’s enough about this matter."

Isabella Ross then recalled what Yolanda Greenwood had said during the day, her expression ambiguous as she added, "You go back first. I’ll bring the medicine over in a while."

Cooper Coldson furrowed his brow quickly, "What medicine?"

"Just go back," Isabella Ross preserved her son’s pride by not explaining too much.

After Cooper Coldson went upstairs, Old Master Coldson called him over.

"Grandpa," he could almost guess what Old Master Coldson wanted to say, "Today there really was an emergency..."

"Go apologize to Yolanda," the old master commanded directly.

"Grandpa!" Cooper Coldson protested unwillingly, "Why should I apologize to her? I was originally with you."

Old Master Coldson glared at him, "With me? Don’t you understand?"

He expressed his frustration like one disappointed in the performance of something relied upon, "It’s us, your grandpa and you, accompanying Yolanda. If it weren’t for Yolanda, you could go wherever you pleased. Seeing you just annoys me."

Cooper Coldson stood still.

Old Master Coldson threw a box of tissues at him, "Now go."

"Grandpa, you should rest early." Cooper Coldson turned and went back to his room.

Yolanda Greenwood had already washed up and was playing with her mobile on the bed, hardly glancing up when he entered.

Cooper Coldson opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing, then went to wash up.

He mentally prepared himself before leaving the bathroom.

"Thank you for today, for accompanying grandpa fishing."

Yolanda Greenwood continued to look at her mobile, "No need to thank me, he’s my grandpa too."

"..." Cooper Coldson dried his hair, "There really was an emergency today. Melissa Greenwood fell and broke her arm."

Sure enough, it was Melissa Greenwood.

Yolanda Greenwood hmphed, "We’re about to get divorced, you don’t need to explain these things to me."

Cooper Coldson was furious, about to lash out when he heard a knock at the door.

"Little Cooper? It’s me." It was Isabella Ross.

Cooper Coldson opened the door to see Isabella Ross coming in with a bowl of medicine.

Hearing Isabella Ross’s voice, Yolanda Greenwood quickly put down her mobile and pretended to be asleep; she hadn’t expected Isabella Ross to act so quickly.

Apparently, she was really worried about not getting a grandchild.

"Mom," Cooper Coldson saw the medicine, his face turning sour, "I said Yolanda wouldn’t drink it."

He and Yolanda Greenwood didn’t have children, simply because they did not have a marital relationship; no medicine would help.

Isabella Ross stepped forward, lowering her voice, "This is for you."

"What do you mean?"

Isabella Ross lowered her voice even more, "Yolanda has already told mom, just drink it with confidence. One course of treatment will do."

"..." Cooper Coldson’s gaze turned icy as he looked at the person pretending to be asleep on the bed.

"Alright, mom, just leave it here, I’ll drink it in a while."
