Chapter 500: Chapter 500: Even Would Mind the People He Once Loved
"It’s just..." Cooper struggled for a while longer, seeing that Yolanda was becoming increasingly impatient, he gritted his teeth and said, "Yolanda, I know that women have a few days every month when they’re not in a good mood. I understand."
Yolanda’s frown deepened.
"Don’t worry, whether it’s me, Anan, or Ella, we all understand you. If you want to lose your temper, it’s okay. If you’re feeling unwell somewhere..."
Yolanda finally understood and interrupted him helplessly, "What are you guessing? I don’t have it."
She turned around to leave right after speaking.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Cooper caught up with her again, "What did you dream about?"
Being guessed right made Yolanda even more irritated.
"In your dream, did I make you angry?" Cooper continued to guess.
Yolanda gritted her teeth. The problem is... it might not have been a dream. She said coldly, "No, I didn’t dream."
"So what did I do wrong?" Cooper persisted, not wanting any misunderstandings between them, "Tell me, and I’ll change for sure."
The more he did this, the more Yolanda felt uneasy, "Really, there’s nothing. I have to go to work."
"There’s definitely something!" Cooper still wouldn’t let it go, "Yolanda, you’re still angry with me."
Yolanda couldn’t help but retort, "Do you feel wronged? If you do, you can stay away from me. I don’t think there are many people in this world who dare to make you feel wronged. You really don’t need to make yourself uncomfortable."
"No, I’m not wronged at all," Cooper said earnestly, "I just want you to be happy. Whether you want to scold me or hit me, as long as it makes you happy, that’s all that matters."
Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh and cry, "You’re making it seem like I’m bullying you."
She took a deep breath, "Alright, I’m really fine. I probably just didn’t sleep well last night, and was in a bit of a mood this morning. Don’t mind it."
"Are you really okay?" Cooper was still only concerned about Yolanda.
"I’m fine." Yolanda smiled, "I need to go to work. You should head to the company too. Bye!"
"See you tonight then!" Cooper watched Yolanda get into the taxi, still feeling a bit uneasy, but he also knew that if Yolanda didn’t want to talk, pushing her further would backfire.
During the three years Yolanda was away, he genuinely learned how to properly love someone, and the only person he wanted to love was Yolanda.
Sitting in the taxi, Yolanda felt mixed emotions. She really shouldn’t have lost her temper with Cooper, especially since Cooper now was faultless.
Yet, she didn’t know how to find an outlet for these feelings, which frustrated her.
For the past two to three days, Cooper hadn’t gone to the company. As soon as he entered Coldson Group, he was immediately busy with numerous meetings, and there were many documents awaiting his signature and confirmation.
Once he got busy, he didn’t even drink a sip of water all morning. Around noon, he received a message on WeChat from Yolanda.
Seeing that Yolanda was the one actively messaging him put Cooper in a great mood, and he muttered to himself, "Does this mean she might be starting to miss me?"
But when he opened the message, he found it a bit puzzling.
[Has Melissa Greenwood been executed yet?]
Cooper frowned. After meeting Melissa Greenwood that time, he had tossed her out of his mind long ago and hadn’t inquired about any follow-up developments, so he replied, [Not too sure, probably!]
Soon, Yolanda replied again, [How could you not know? Aren’t you supposed to care about her a lot?]
Finding it even stranger, Cooper replied, [Why should I care about her?]
This time, he waited but didn’t get any more replies from Yolanda. He felt something was really wrong. Yolanda wouldn’t mention Melissa Greenwood out of the blue. Did someone say something?
He thought for a moment and decided to call Daisy Dawson.
"President Coldson? Why are you suddenly..."
Cooper interrupted her, lowering his voice, "Are you with Yolanda?"
"Yes." Daisy glanced at Yolanda, who was eating not far away, "What’s up? Do you want to talk to her?"
"No, I’m asking if you met anyone this morning?"
"Met anyone?" Daisy shook her head, "No, this morning we just went through some recent orders and plan to meet a few clients in the afternoon. President Coldson, what’s going on?"
"Oh, nothing." Cooper hung up the phone.
Daisy furrowed her brows. She had actually noticed today that Yolanda seemed a bit distracted. Could the two have had a quarrel?
She thought about it but decided not to ask, as after all, it’s a private matter between two people.
"Sister Yolanda," she walked over to Yolanda in a few steps and saw that she hadn’t eaten much of her meal, "Sis, you should eat more. Otherwise, you won’t be able to lift Ella in the future."
Yolanda smiled, "Okay, are you done eating?"
"Yes." Daisy began packing her things, "Sis, take your time eating and make sure to finish. I’ll go meet the clients first."
"Alright, just go according to what we discussed this morning. Thank you for your hard work." Yolanda watched Daisy leave and then put down her chopsticks helplessly, glancing at her phone again.
All morning, she’d been telling herself it was a dream, and she shouldn’t care, but she just couldn’t shake it off.
Is this what it feels like to really care for someone?
Wanting everything about this person; not allowing them to be interested in others; even minding people they used to love.
Yolanda thought, Cooper must have loved that Melissa Greenwood, otherwise, in that dream, she wouldn’t have seen them so intimate. She...seemed to be jealous.
"Sigh!" She felt a bit pathetic, slapped her cheeks hard, and packed up her unfinished meal.
"Yolanda, Yolanda Greenwood, get yourself together!" She cheered herself on while texting the clients she contacted in the morning, [Hello Miss Wendy, I’m heading out now. See you at Azure Cafe in half an hour.]
The reply came quickly, [Okay, see you soon.]
Half an hour later, the person Yolanda was waiting for finally appeared, "Hello, are you Miss Wendy?"
Wendy Bennett looked surprised and her eyes widened, "Yolanda? Is it really you? Are you a designer at Heart Island Design?"
Only now did Yolanda realize she had run into an old acquaintance. She smiled and said, "To be precise, I’m the owner of Heart Island Design. Did we know each other before?"
"You don’t remember me?" Wendy sized up Yolanda, "I’m a good friend of Melissa..."
Thinking of Melissa Greenwood’s current situation, she quickly corrected herself, "Actually, we’re not really good friends, just people in the same circle, so we need to show some mutual respect."
Yolanda finally realized, "The Melissa you’re talking about is... Melissa Greenwood?"
Wendy nodded suspiciously.
Yolanda smiled apologetically, "I’m really sorry, I lost my memory."
"Ah?" Wendy was taken aback, but she instantly felt relieved. She didn’t know much about what happened three years ago, only that Yolanda supposedly jumped into the sea, and Melissa Greenwood was sentenced to death, but she hadn’t expected Yolanda to survive, just with memory loss.
So what about her and Cooper?
