Chapter 499: Chapter 499: She Shouldn’t Have Lost Her Temper at Cooper Coldson

After waking suddenly, Yolanda couldn’t fall back asleep for a long time. The dream was too real, as if it had actually happened.

Every time she closed her eyes now, she would see Melissa affectionately holding Cooper, seeing them chatting and laughing together, and it made her heart feel sour and bitter, utterly uncomfortable.

She sat in the dark, unable to help but wonder if this dream might be part of her memories. After all, Serena and Adam had both reminded her that the closer she got to Cooper, the more likely she would regain her memory.

If that really was a memory... Yolanda shed tears immediately, hastily wiping them away before gently lying back down. She hadn’t restarted her relationship with Cooper yet, and she couldn’t let herself sink into despair over an ambiguous dream.

Still, she couldn’t control her heart, and she almost cried herself to sleep.

The next morning, it was Little Gabriel and Little Ella who woke up first, their little heads crowding around Yolanda.

"Brother, did mom cry?" Little Ella was the first to notice the tear stains on the pillow.

Little Gabriel immediately became uneasy, "Mom cried? Why?"

He tried hard to remember; they hadn’t made mom sad yesterday, and mom had bought a new house, and they had celebrated together last night, so why would mom cry?

"I don’t know." Little Ella reached out her small hand, trying to smooth out mom’s frowning brow, accidentally waking Yolanda.

"Mom, what’s wrong?" Little Ella went over to act coy, "Did you cry? Did someone bully you?"

"Cried?" Yolanda quickly shook her head, "No, mom didn’t cry."

"But the pillow..." Little Gabriel pointed at the mark on the pillow, looking at Yolanda worriedly.

Yolanda chuckled, immediately making up a lie, "Did you two drool? Tell me, who was it?"

"Not me!" The two little ones denied in unison.

"Still not admitting it, let’s see how mom will deal with you!" Yolanda immediately began tickling them, and the three of them ended up laughing together on the bed.

Seeing that the kids had finally stopped bringing up the matter, Yolanda smiled and sat up, "Alright, stop fooling around, get up, mom will make breakfast for you, or you’ll be late."

While getting out of bed, she asked, "Can you dress yourselves?"

"Yes we can!" the two little ones replied in unison.

"Good, very good. This morning, each of you gets a reward of one egg." Yolanda left the bedroom, preparing to make breakfast, only to see Cooper entering with two takeout bags.

"Awake? I ordered breakfast from Clear Moon Retreat," Cooper appeared to be in a good mood, "Go wash up, and then we can eat."

Yolanda frowned, speaking unhappily, "Who told you to order breakfast? I know you’re the president of Coldson Group, used to splurging, but Ella and I are ordinary people, accustomed to ordinary life, it’s really something we’re not used to."

Cooper placed the bags on the table, surprised by Yolanda’s outburst, quickly apologizing, "Yolanda, don’t misunderstand, I meant nothing else, I thought you were very tired from moving yesterday, so I ordered breakfast so you wouldn’t have to trouble yourself."

"No need, I’m not even tired!" Yolanda angrily walked towards the bathroom, and at the door, she said in a firm voice, "By the way, after picking up Gabriel tonight, you should go back immediately, don’t stay here. The extra small room I bought wasn’t for you."

Having said that, she left quickly.

Cooper stood there dumbfounded; he could feel Yolanda’s mood was terrible, but why? Had he done something wrong?

After shutting the bathroom door, Yolanda felt some regret; she shouldn’t have lost her temper at Cooper, but she just couldn’t help it.

Whenever she saw Cooper’s face, she would remember the dream from last night, and she sighed helplessly before starting to wash up.

Due to Yolanda’s persistent gloominess, the entire breakfast was rather silent for the four of them. After eating, Yolanda and Cooper took the children to school together.

Richard was already waiting in the car downstairs.

"Yolanda!" Cooper cautiously asked, "Why don’t you and Ella... take my car?"

"No need, I’m not used to riding in such luxurious cars," Yolanda said as she pulled Little Ella along, "We’ll just hail a cab."

"..." Cooper wanted to persuade her more but thought better of it and smartly kept quiet.

After getting in the car, he and Little Gabriel spoke at the same time, "Last night..."

Cooper spoke first, "Did you upset mom last night?"

Little Gabriel quickly shook his head and asked Cooper, "Did dad upset mom last night?"

"I don’t think so," Cooper had replayed yesterday morning in his mind, "I remember I even said goodnight to your mom last night. She seemed in a good mood then, so why did it change after a night’s sleep?"

Little Gabriel thought for a while and whispered mysteriously, "And mom seemed to have cried last night. This morning, sis spotted tear stains on mom’s pillow, but mom wouldn’t admit it, insisting it was me and sis drooling."

Cooper frowned; something must have happened last night, but what?

"President Coldson, young master," Richard suddenly spoke up while driving, "Women’s emotions can change pretty quickly, and sometimes it seems inexplicable."

"Assistant Reyes, are you saying my mom is inexplicable?" Little Gabriel asked earnestly.

"No, no, absolutely not." Richard quickly denied it, glancing nervously at the rearview mirror, where he noticed Cooper’s face was also not good. He hastily added, "I mean, to those of us not in the know, it might seem inexplicable, but there must be a reason."

Cooper shifted his position, intertwining his long legs, "Then what do you think the reason might be?"

"For instance... it might be that time of the month." Richard quickly said, "When my wife has her monthly cycle, her temper becomes very irritable and she gets angry easily."

"Dad," Little Gabriel asked with a puzzled look, "who’s Aunt Flo? There weren’t any guests at home last night, were there?"

"..." Cooper glared viciously at Richard.

"Haha, haha..." Richard laughed dryly twice, "Or it might not be. It could also be that she had a nightmare. Sometimes my wife dreams that I cheated on her, and then she stays angry at me the next morning, that’s also possible."

Cooper frowned; both possibilities Richard mentioned seemed plausible; he needed to think of a way to address it.

Once they reached the kindergarten, Little Gabriel and Little Ella went inside together, and as Yolanda turned to leave, Cooper quickly followed her.

"What?" Yolanda asked him irritably.

Cooper tugged at his lips, struggling for a moment before lowering his voice, "Um... are you... having that time of the month?"

Yolanda frowned, "What do you mean by ’that’? What are you talking about?"
