Chapter 476: Chapter 476: I hope you can truly be together
"Alright, you two stop arguing." Lola Gold thought the two of them were acting strange, arguing non-stop as soon as they met today.
She looked at the two of them suspiciously, "At this point, even if Yolanda is angry, none of us can escape. Let’s just wait quietly for a while."
Time slowly passed, and it was almost time to pick up Little Ella from school when Yolanda Greenwood finally came out of the room.
"I’ll go pick up Ella." She didn’t look at the three of them, preparing to leave.
"I’ll go." Adam Sterling stood up, "You’re not in a good mood right now. I don’t feel comfortable letting you go. I’ll pick her up, you wait for me at home."
He looked at Lola Gold and Noah Coldson, "You two, take good care of her for me."
"Stop it, just go." Lola Gold helplessly pushed him away.
Adam Sterling quickly left.
Yolanda thought for a moment and went back to the room. She knew they meant well, but she had received too much information today and really couldn’t handle it all at once.
"I’ll go check on her." Noah Coldson stood up, walked to the bedroom door, and knocked, "Yolanda, it’s me, want to talk?"
Afraid that Yolanda wouldn’t open the door, he added, "I have to go back to the unit soon, and seeing you like this, I’m really not at ease."
Sure enough, the door quickly opened.
"Yolanda..." Noah Coldson hesitated.
"Have a seat." Yolanda gestured, then turned to sit on the edge of the bed, still reluctant to speak.
Noah Coldson sighed softly, "You’re upset with us, and rightfully so, but as Lola said, you have to believe that we really had your best interests at heart back then, but... maybe good intentions went wrong."
Yolanda looked over, slightly surprised. She didn’t expect Noah to say that.
"To be honest, I’m really surprised things have developed to this point," Noah Coldson gave a bitter smile, "Do you know how many times I wanted to tell you the truth while watching Adam pretend to be married to you from the start?"
He got up and walked to the bed, "Over these three years, only I can understand how hard it was to gradually erase my feelings for you."
Yolanda frowned, "You shouldn’t use the excuse of having my best interests at heart to make decisions for me."
"Yes, we really shouldn’t have." Noah Coldson turned to look at her, "So now I’m apologizing. Can you accept it? I’m not asking for your forgiveness, just sincerely saying I’m sorry."
Yolanda felt a little unwilling. At this point, it seemed pointless to blame anyone.
"Yolanda, actually..." Noah Coldson looked at her hesitantly, "Honestly, I didn’t know when Adam started to have feelings for you. If I had known earlier, maybe I wouldn’t have waited until today to let you know the truth."
He laughed bitterly, "Perhaps to Adam, in loving you, Cooper and I were both his rivals, so he kept me in the dark as well."
Yolanda didn’t understand what he was trying to say.
"Yolanda, Adam has changed." Noah Coldson finally couldn’t help but say, "I believe since you’ve been with him day and night, you understand what I mean. So you need to think carefully about what to do next."
He was visibly anxious, "If he was the person he used to be, I would still feel comfortable entrusting you to him, would advise you to stay with him, but now... Yolanda, you need to think it through."
"Brother, thank you." Yolanda could feel that Noah had no ulterior motives for a long time, caring for her like a brother, "I know, I’ll consider it carefully."
"I believe in you." Noah Coldson glanced at the time, "Alright, I should go. Call me directly if you need anything later."
"Okay." Yolanda got up and saw him off.
She and Lola Gold were the only ones left at home. She didn’t return to the bedroom but sat in the living room.
"Truly angry?" Lola Gold got up and sat next to her again, "Don’t be mad, we really meant well for you..."
"Do you know?" Yolanda turned to look at her, "One night, Adam got drunk and nearly forced himself on..."
Lola Gold opened her mouth wide in shock, "He did such an asshole thing? That guy’s nuts; didn’t you beat him up?"
Yolanda lowered her head and said nothing.
"Yolanda, I think Adam... he loves you too much." Lola Gold tried to comfort her, "Think about it, he pretended to be your husband for three years, and during those three years, he never touched you or any other woman. Now that he’s developed feelings for you, it must be hard for him to resist."
Yolanda looked at her indignantly.
"Don’t get excited, I meant nothing else. He’s obviously wrong and deserves a beating, but you have to admit these objective facts too." Lola Gold sighed lightly, "Actually, your return to Gray City was also his idea."
"What do you mean it was his idea?" Yolanda didn’t understand.
"It was that article about the kindergarten," Lola Gold laughed, "he sent it to you."
"What?" Yolanda was utterly shocked.
"He was in so much pain back then, talking to me about it every day, saying he didn’t want to pretend to be your husband anymore," Lola Gold explained immediately, "but to stop pretending, he had to reveal the truth first, right? Moreover... Ella is also in Gray City, and he thought you should reunite with her, so..."
Yolanda lowered her head and didn’t speak; she really didn’t expect how many times Lola Gold and Adam had conspired against her.
"Yolanda, I understand how you feel right now, but try to put yourself in Adam’s shoes, and maybe you’ll understand him a bit more," to Lola Gold, Adam had helped her many times, and they were already good friends, "I hope you two can really be together now."
Seeing that Yolanda still wasn’t speaking, she promptly reminded, "And Ella, don’t forget how good Adam is to her, and how much Ella depends on him. Over these three years, he may have deceived you, but for the most part, he fulfilled the responsibilities of a father and husband without asking too much from you. To some degree, he did put in a lot of effort, and you can’t just erase everything."
"Yolanda, I’m not forcing you to decide right away," Lola Gold said earnestly, "I hope you think it over carefully before you decide, so you don’t regret it. Okay?"
Yolanda nodded, "I understand, I’ll think about it properly."
"There’s one more thing I need to remind you of," Lola Gold added, "Remember, don’t fall for Cooper Coldson before your memory recovers, or that would really make you the most upset."
Yolanda frowned slightly, she probably already knew about her past with Cooper, although she didn’t have the actual memories, so she didn’t feel much.
"Alright, I’m leaving too." Lola Gold got up to leave, she stepped forward to hug Yolanda, "I’m sorry, Yolanda, for deceiving you for three years. I hope you can forgive me soon."
Seeing that Yolanda wasn’t responding, she could only helplessly pout, "Alright, even if you don’t forgive me, that’s okay, but you can’t stay mad alone. If you’re upset, just come find me to yell a few times or hit me once or twice, okay?"
Yolanda just felt a deep sense of powerlessness and frustration, "Alright, hurry back."
