Chapter 466: Chapter 466: She and Cooper Coldson fell in love during their university days
Yolanda made up her mind and contacted Lola Gold; the two of them agreed to go back to their university together for a visit.
Gray City University is one of the top higher education institutions in the country, with the Art College where Yolanda studied, and the Management College where Cooper Coldson once studied, both renowned nationally and internationally.
On this Saturday, the weather was especially nice. Yolanda, carrying Little Ella, came to Gray City University with Lola Gold.
Standing at the school gate, Lola Gold couldn’t help spreading her arms, "Wow, I never expected to come back, but unfortunately, our school probably won’t welcome me, and our college won’t either."
Back then, she studied art like Yolanda, but after graduation, she never worked in an art-related field.
"Mom, did you study here before?" Little Ella asked curiously, blinking her big eyes.
"Yes, how about it? Is it pretty here?" Yolanda smiled at her daughter.
"Pretty!" Little Ella nodded, "Mom, can you put me down? I want to take some pictures."
"Okay." Yolanda put down Little Ella.
The little one, although young, was quite good at photography. She stood in a spot and asked Yolanda, "Mom, is it okay if I stand here? Can you see the four big words ’Gray City University’ behind me?"
"Yes." Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh.
"Then quickly take my picture." Little Ella immediately struck a particularly cute pose.
Yolanda shook her head and raised her phone. At the moment the photo was captured, she felt a sense of familiarity as if she had taken pictures here herself, not alone either.
She shook her head, trying to dismiss the unclear thoughts in her mind, but still couldn’t remember anything.
"Lola," Yolanda turned to ask Lola Gold, "did we take pictures here before?"
"Probably," Lola Gold didn’t remember clearly, "in places like this, we should have taken photos for graduation..."
She suddenly remembered something and smacked her forehead, "Why didn’t I think of this before, figuring this out is easy, isn’t it? I have photo albums at home, we can check them when we get back."
"Okay." Yolanda nodded.
As they continued inside, they saw many students coming and going, laughing and chasing each other, and the two of them exchanged smiles.
"Oh dear, I’ve always refused to admit I’m old, but coming back here and seeing these truly young kids," Lola Gold shook her head, "I really can’t keep saying I’m still eighteen."
Yolanda smiled, "Yes."
Lola Gold took Yolanda back to the Art College, and even visited former teachers, but Yolanda still couldn’t recall anything.
They left the Art College, and Little Ella pointed to the basketball court not far away, "Mom, can we go there?"
"Oh, our Ella is really smart," Lola Gold said quickly, "knowing what your godmother wants to see? Knowing where there are the most handsome guys, come on, let’s go!"
She took Little Ella from Yolanda, jogging toward the basketball court.
"Slow down, don’t fall." Yolanda said helplessly and quickly followed them.
There were quite a few people playing basketball, and indeed some were full of spirit and quite handsome, drawing frequent screams from the girls watching.
Just then, a boy suddenly dribbled the ball over to a girl, took the water bottle from her hands, and began to drink it in big gulps.
"Ahhhhh..." The other onlookers screamed.
The other guys playing basketball joined in the commotion, obviously holding the boy in high regard for his status and looks, while his gaze remained fixed on the girl the whole time.
Yolanda watched them quietly, that inexplicable sense of familiarity surged back into her heart.
"What? Remembering your own experiences back then?" Lola Gold suddenly teased her with a joking smile.
"Huh?" Yolanda asked blankly, "What do you mean? What back then?"
Lola Gold’s smile stiffened for a moment before she let out a couple of dry laughs and said, "Nothing, back then we were just like those girls, handing water to the boys we liked."
Yolanda chuckled.
"Godmother," Little Ella suddenly asked, "who did Mom give water to back then? Was he handsome?"
Yolanda, hearing this, also looked over curiously.
But Lola Gold deliberately changed the subject, "Oh, you little romantic, who do you want to hand water to? Should I buy a bottle of water for you, my dear?"
She looked at Yolanda, "Yolanda, I am quite thirsty now, you stay here and wait, I’ll take Ella to buy water, we’ll be back soon."
"I’ll go with you." Yolanda immediately suggested.
"No need, if you feel it’s too sunny, you can wait in the woods over there." Lola Gold hugged Little Ella as she walked away.
Yolanda watched for a bit longer, finding it rather dull, so she went to the small grove nearby.
The grove looked quite old, some of the trees had weathered and marked surfaces. Yolanda soon found that some tree trunks had words carved into them, mostly names or love declarations, which she found quite interesting.
So, she went from tree to tree, seeing what others had carved.
Suddenly, she saw words carved on a tree that froze her in place.
On that tree, the names Cooper Coldson and Yolanda were carved, along with a heart, their names inside it.
Even though she had lost her memory, she understood what it meant, it was making a wish for them to truly love each other and be together forever, but what surprised Yolanda the most was that these names... seemed to have been carved by her.
Now that she made jewelry, many customers would ask for engravings, so even though there were subtle differences, she could recognize it as her own handiwork.
So, had she known Cooper Coldson back in college? Were they even in love?
"Yolanda?" Lola Gold returned with Little Ella in her arms.
"Coming." Yolanda turned to leave, instinctively not wanting Lola Gold to see that carving, feeling somewhat conflicted.
"What’s wrong with you? Why is your face so red?" Lola Gold asked with concern.
"Nothing, probably got a bit too much sun just now." Yolanda forced a smile.
"See, I told you, what’s the point of coming to school in this heat, let’s go, come to my house instead," Lola Gold also wanted to see their old photo albums, "We’ll look at the albums together."
On the way, Lola Gold talked about a lot of things, they had known each other since primary school, always classmates, so at her house, there would be many photos of Yolanda from childhood.
"Great, great," Little Ella was very excited, "I want to see what Mom looked like when she was little."
She tilted her head and asked Lola Gold, "Are there photos from when she was three or four?"
"No, not those." Lola Gold replied, pulling the corners of her mouth helplessly.
Yolanda actually found it quite strange, why Jaxon Greenwood also didn’t have any photos of her as a child. Even if she didn’t like taking photos, would a two or three-year-old child understand to refuse them?
She was actually quite curious about whether she looked like Little Ella when she was young.
Arriving at Lola Gold’s house, Caleb Sullivan wasn’t there. Lola Gold took out a photo album for Yolanda, "You and Ella take a look first, I’ll fix some fruits for you."
