Chapter 460: Chapter 460: How Can the Bad Uncle Be So Bad
Cooper hung up the phone, but he couldn’t help worrying about Yolanda and wondered how long Adam planned to keep hiding this.
And what baffled him the most was what Adam’s father was doing in the army. This person, whom he had never met, seemed like a dangerous presence.
As he was filled with concern, Yolanda’s call came in, and he answered immediately.
"Yolanda? Is there something wrong with Gabriel?"
"No, Gabriel is doing well and is already asleep with Ella." Yolanda coaxed the two little ones to sleep and was making the call from the living room.
Cooper sighed in relief, "That’s good, it’s really troubling you."
"What are you saying? I’m Gabriel’s mother, nothing I do for him can be considered trouble," Yolanda paused and continued, "Actually, I called about something related to Gabriel."
Cooper tensed up again, "Go ahead."
"It’s about Gabriel’s illness," Yolanda sighed lightly, "Adam said Gabriel’s condition has worsened and it’s best to cooperate with medication."
"The condition worsened? How is that possible?" Cooper was very surprised, as after Yolanda and Little Ella returned, he felt his son had become much more cheerful. He thought his son’s illness was slowly improving.
"Yes." Yolanda thought and didn’t mention Little Gabriel’s lies, as she wasn’t sure either, "I don’t understand either, but after all, Adam is an expert in this field. He explained some of the situation to me, I think you’d better ask him in person."
"Okay, I understand." Cooper was very grateful, "Thank Adam for his efforts."
"Adam will also keep a closer watch in the coming days, so you don’t have to worry too much." Yolanda hesitated for a moment, then said goodnight before hanging up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Cooper still found it unbelievable. Had Little Gabriel’s condition really worsened?
The next day, after breakfast, Yolanda and Adam took the two kids to the amusement park together.
After buying tickets, the group happily entered the park. Today was Saturday, so there were a lot of people in the amusement park, and most of the attractions required queuing.
"Gabriel, Ella, what do you want to play?" Yolanda asked with a smile.
"The carousel!" Little Ella answered first, wearing a petal-patterned dress today, looking like a little princess from a fairy tale.
"The carousel!" Little Gabriel, being a devoted brother, immediately gave the same answer.
Yolanda smiled and shook her head, "Alright, then let’s play the carousel first."
She looked at Little Ella and said, "But after the carousel, the next ride will be Gabriel’s choice, okay?"
"Hehe, okay." Little Ella, holding Little Gabriel’s hand, was the first to run toward the carousel.
"Slow down, don’t fall." Yolanda quickly followed.
At the site, Yolanda found that there weren’t many people in the queue, so she said proactively, "Adam, you queue with them, I’ll go buy two balloons."
"I’ll go." Adam said, "It’ll be their turn soon, you go play with them."
"I’m not a child, you watch them later, don’t let them fall." Yolanda shook her head and left the queue.
Sure enough, it was soon their turn. The two little ones were seated one in front of the other, not too far apart.
The carousel started rotating, and Adam stood next to Little Ella, taking photos and talking to her, seemingly forgetting about Little Gabriel behind them.
Little Gabriel watched them for a moment, then turned his head sideways, but there were adults accompanying the other children too, except for him.
"No worries." The little guy tried to smile weakly, "I’m awesome, I can do it myself."
He gripped the handle tightly, still keeping his eyes on his sister, just in case she turned to talk to him.
However, Adam almost completely blocked Little Ella, and Little Gabriel could only stretch his neck to see his sister’s hair.
Adam, while joking with Little Ella, glanced at the queue. Vaguely, he saw Yolanda had returned.
"Okay, Ella, Daddy’s going to check on your brother. Be careful, hold the handle tightly, don’t move around, understand?" After instructing her carefully, he turned to walk towards Little Gabriel.
Little Gabriel was stunned for a moment when he saw him coming and felt a little bewildered, unsure of what this bad uncle meant.
He held onto the handle tightly, without blinking, staring at Adam.
"Don’t misunderstand," Adam stood next to him, "your mom just came back."
A single sentence left Little Gabriel wide-eyed in shock. He never knew a person could be so bad, he really hated this bad uncle.
The carousel stopped, and while Adam instructed Little Ella to stay put, he went to pick up Little Gabriel, "Come down yourself if you’re sensible."
"Go away!" Little Gabriel yelled at Adam, "I don’t need your help."
But Adam’s hands didn’t stop, he continued trying to lift Little Gabriel.
Little Gabriel felt entirely uncomfortable, he began to struggle vigorously, "Let go of me, let go of me."
"Gabriel, stop it!" Adam said loudly, appearing hurt.
"Let go of me, let go of me." Little Gabriel almost madly shouted, finally landing on his feet, kicking fiercely at Adam, then turning to run away.
"What’s wrong with my brother?" Little Ella asked worriedly.
"Probably an episode again, don’t be afraid," Adam picked up Little Ella.
Little Ella tried to walk outside, "I’m not afraid, my brother won’t hurt me."
Adam’s face grew more solemn.
Little Gabriel ran out and ran to Yolanda, "Mom..."
"Gabriel, you can’t do this," Yolanda, who had witnessed the whole scene, felt Little Gabriel was indeed a bit over the top, "Uncle picked you up because he was afraid you’d be in danger, how could you..."
Before she could finish, Little Gabriel’s eyes reddened suddenly, the boy’s face full of disbelief, taking a step back.
"Gabriel, be good!" Yolanda felt a strong sense of unease.
"You don’t believe me, Mom doesn’t believe me." In the end, Little Gabriel cried out and ran away.
"Gabriel, don’t run." Yolanda was extremely worried, instructing Adam to stay with Ella while she chased after Little Gabriel herself.
Adam grabbed her, "Yolanda, I’ll go with you, let’s look for him together."
"Okay, okay." Yolanda was really scattered, she just wanted to find Little Gabriel quickly, "Once we find him, return here. If we can’t find him, meet back here in an hour."
They immediately separated.
"Gabriel, where are you? Come out, Mom knows she’s wrong." Yolanda called while walking, frantic.
But there were so many people in the amusement park, adults and children alike, she couldn’t find any trace of Little Gabriel.
She knew the child must be hiding.
An hour later, Yolanda returned crestfallen, to find Adam already waiting, both shook their heads simultaneously, evidently neither had found Little Gabriel.
