Chapter 457: Chapter 457: Do You Really Just Want to See Your Son?
"Good boy, Gabriel. Mommy misses you too!" Yolanda Greenwood hugged the little one in her arms tightly, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Little Gabriel looked pitifully at Yolanda, "Mommy hasn’t come to see me recently. Are you planning to sneak away again?"
"How could I?" Yolanda felt a bit guilty, "Don’t worry, Mommy won’t sneak away anymore."
"It’s okay if Mommy does," Little Gabriel proudly patted his chest, "I’ve grown up. If Mommy leaves, I can remember her and find her."
"Silly child!" Yolanda felt extremely tender as she quickly took out the lunch she made and gave it to the two little ones, "Eat up, this is made by Mommy herself, it should taste okay."
"Since Mommy made it, it must be super delicious." Little Ella tilted her face up, showering praise.
"Right!" Little Gabriel nodded enthusiastically in agreement.
The two little ones quickly started eating, and Yolanda went to chat with their teacher for a while, asking about the children’s recent performance.
"Ella has always been a little star in the eyes of the kids. Her studies lag a bit, but her classmates like her, and she has a talent for performance."
Yolanda nodded, knowing a bit about Little Ella’s situation from Adam Sterling. She then asked, "What about Gabriel?"
"Gabriel..." The teacher hesitated slightly, "You know, he has a tendency towards being aloof, doesn’t generally interact with other classmates, only plays with Ella, but he’s especially smart and good at crafts, especially drawing..."
The teacher thought of something, turned around, brought back a pile of drawings, and picked out some to give to Yolanda, "These were drawn by Gabriel. He has real talent."
Yolanda was startled when she saw the drawings. She hadn’t expected Little Gabriel to inherit her drawing talent, and the child’s drawings were clearly better than hers at his age.
"If you, as parents, intend to nurture it," the teacher was full of praise for Gabriel’s drawings, "he might become a master one day."
"Thank you, teacher." Yolanda was very pleased.
"Mom, I have an idea." After lunch, Yolanda took them out for a walk, and Little Gabriel suddenly spoke cautiously.
"What? Tell me." Yolanda was still immersed in the discovery of Gabriel’s artistic talent, but immediately turned her attention to him.
"Mom, can I..." Little Gabriel seemed hesitant, "Can I stay at your place for a few days?"
"Of course!" Little Ella quickly chimed in before Yolanda could answer.
Little Gabriel continued to look at Yolanda, waiting for her answer.
Yolanda didn’t immediately answer, but instead touched the little one’s head, "Gabriel wants to stay with Mommy for a few days?"
"Yes, then I can see Mommy every day. Mommy can even tuck me in at night." The little one was obviously very excited.
"Oh, I see," Yolanda paused deliberately before suddenly picking up Little Gabriel, "Mommy is more than happy to have you."
"That’s great, that’s great." Little Ella jumped up in delight.
"Thank you, Mommy. Mommy is the best!" Little Gabriel hugged Yolanda’s neck and rubbed his cheek against hers.
"Good boy! Then go tell Daddy tonight. After school tomorrow, come home with Mommy, okay?"
"Okay." Little Gabriel nodded enthusiastically, feeling exceptionally happy inside.
After school in the evening, Little Gabriel shared this news with Cooper Coldson, "Dad, I’m going to stay at Mom’s place for a few days."
"Ah? So suddenly?" Cooper Coldson felt a hint of reluctance, actually, he hadn’t seen Yolanda in a while too, "Did Mom come to the kindergarten today?"
"Yes, Mom brought delicious lunch." Little Gabriel looked very pleased.
"Lucky you." Cooper Coldson helplessly pinched his son’s cheek, "How long will you stay?"
"Just two days over the weekend, otherwise I’ll miss Dad too."
Cooper Coldson chuckled, "You’ve got a conscience after all."
"Dad, I’ll help you," Little Gabriel suddenly said seriously.
"Help me?" Cooper Coldson frowned, "What scheme are you cooking up now?"
"Anyway, I’ll help Dad, which means helping myself." Little Gabriel sat upright, "I don’t like bad uncles. He doesn’t like me either. I want to get back Mommy."
"Don’t act recklessly!" Cooper Coldson gave a low warning, "Don’t make things difficult for Mommy, understand?"
"Don’t worry, I love Mommy just like Dad does."
Cooper Coldson pulled a reluctant smile, feeling that since Yolanda returned, his son had really grown up quickly.
Just then, his phone alerted him with a message from Yolanda.
[Did Gabriel tell you? Tomorrow I’ll pick him up to stay at my place for a bit, please pack his things tonight.]
Cooper Coldson immediately replied, [He did. Thank you and Adam Sterling.]
[By the way, the teacher at the kindergarten said Gabriel has an exceptional talent in drawing. Do you have any ideas?]
Cooper Coldson thought about it before replying, [I’m not knowledgeable about this, but if possible, can you help with suggestions? I’ll implement them.]
Clearly, Yolanda was waiting for this response. She quickly replied, [Alright, wait for my updates.]
The sound of the door opening could be heard from outside. Yolanda put down her phone and left the bedroom; sure enough, Adam Sterling had returned with Little Ella.
"Dinner’s ready, you two wash your hands and get ready to eat."
"You’re being disobedient again, didn’t I tell you to rest?" Adam Sterling frowned, "I could’ve made dinner."
"It’s alright, I’m not tired." Yolanda smiled, taking Little Ella to wash her hands. She asked quietly, "Ella, did you tell Dad about inviting your brother over?"
Little Ella shook her head, "Mom, I’m scared."
Yolanda frowned, clearly not expecting this answer from Little Ella, "It’s fine, what’s Ella afraid of?"
"..." Little Ella looked down in silence for a while, then whispered, "Dad doesn’t like my brother or Uncle Coldson."
"No, Ella don’t overthink it, Mommy will tell Dad later." Yolanda comforted her daughter by caressing her forehead.
During dinner, Yolanda didn’t bring up the topic. Honestly, she wasn’t sure how Adam Sterling would react and didn’t want to frighten Ella further.
After dinner, she took some fruit to Adam Sterling’s room.
"What’s going on?" Adam Sterling asked with a smile, "You’re acting strange today, first insisting on making dinner, then bringing me fruit. Did you do something you’re feeling guilty about?"
Yolanda froze for a moment, feeling suddenly uncomfortable. She set down the fruit and said, "What’s there to feel guilty about? I went to see my son at kindergarten; does that count as something to feel guilty about?"
As expected, Adam Sterling’s expression darkened slightly, "So, you snuck off to the kindergarten?"
Yolanda instantly became tense.
"Yolanda, if you think it’s not something to feel guilty about, why didn’t you tell me before going?" Adam Sterling took a step closer, "Yolanda, I’m not against you seeing your son, but is that really all you want to do?"
