Chapter 453: Chapter 453: You Don’t Believe I Can Defeat Cooper Coldson

The gap between the top three wasn’t big, but they maintained a certain speed, and the rankings seemed to be set.

Suddenly, there was a gasp from the crowd, as the father from the third-place family suddenly picked up the mother and daughter on either side of him...

Cooper Coldson’s gaze was like a hawk’s; he was determined to win!

Originally, their speed was only at Little Ella’s pace, but now, it had almost become his speed. He quickly overtook the second place, the first place, and finally won the championship at the last moment.

"We won!" Little Ella, held around the waist, couldn’t help but exclaim, "Mom, we won!"

Yolanda Greenwood, who had also been held around the waist, landed flat-footed, and infected by the children’s excitement, and also thrilled by the heart-stopping moment just now, exclaimed in delight, "We won, we won!"

"Wonderful, just wonderful!" Little Ella had the straps around her ankles untied and immediately jumped up in joy.

She leaped into Cooper Coldson’s arms, "Dad, you’re amazing, you’re so amazing!"

She hugged Cooper Coldson’s neck and gave him a strong kiss on the cheek, "Dad, you’re really amazing!"

Cooper Coldson froze at this moment, joy and excitement surging to his heart, his nose stung, and he even felt like crying.

"Thank you so much," Yolanda Greenwood said beside him, "You did great!"

"It’s nothing," Cooper Coldson sniffed, "This little thing is really nothing, as long as you are happy."

"Dad is really awesome!" Little Gabriel ran over, clinging proudly to Cooper Coldson.

At this moment, Little Ella had an indescribable feeling and came over too, tilting her little head, "Dad is really awesome!"

Cooper Coldson let out a chuckle; he really enjoyed the moment.

At this moment, the teacher walked over to announce the results and invited the top three families to receive their awards on the podium.

"Great." Little Ella was bouncing up and down.

Cooper Coldson picked up Little Ella, Yolanda Greenwood held Little Gabriel’s hand, and they walked toward the podium with the other two families.

Yolanda Greenwood subconsciously glanced toward the entrance of the playground, still not seeing Adam Sterling’s figure.

Nearing the podium, Cooper Coldson did not expect to go up; he put Little Ella down, "Alright, you two go up and get the award."

"Dad..." Little Ella immediately corrected herself, "Uncle Coldson is not coming with us?"

Cooper Coldson shook his head, "You and Mom go ahead."

Little Ella remained insistent, "But without Uncle Coldson, Mom and I couldn’t have won this first place."

She tugged at Yolanda Greenwood, "Mom, let Uncle Coldson come up with us to receive the award."

"Ella is right, without you, we wouldn’t have won this award. You should come along..." Yolanda Greenwood’s words stopped abruptly as she glanced behind Cooper Coldson, her expression changed, "Adam Sterling, you came."

Adam Sterling’s face looked worse than it did in the morning; he forced a smile and stepped forward, standing next to Yolanda Greenwood and Little Ella, "What’s going on?"

"It’s nothing," Yolanda Greenwood hurried to explain, "In the race just now, I asked Cooper Coldson to help because you weren’t here..."

Adam Sterling interrupted Yolanda Greenwood, "Did we get a place?"

"Yes, first place." Yolanda Greenwood looked at Cooper Coldson awkwardly.

Cooper Coldson’s expression was equally unpleasant. He felt it was truly annoying that Adam Sterling was giving Yolanda Greenwood a hard time even though he was the one who was late.

Not wanting Yolanda Greenwood to feel awkward, Cooper Coldson actively explained, "I was the one who insisted on participating in the race earlier; it wasn’t Yolanda’s or Ella’s idea."

Little Ella gratefully glanced at Cooper Coldson.

Yet, Adam Sterling ignored Cooper Coldson, bent down, and picked up Little Ella, "Ella, Daddy was late. Are you mad?"

Little Ella quickly shook her head, looking at Adam Sterling with a bit of flattery, "I’m just happy you’re here, Daddy."

"Such a good girl." Adam Sterling looked at Yolanda Greenwood, "Sorry, something indeed held me up."

Yolanda Greenwood shook her head.

The teacher reminded them, "The family who placed first can go up to receive the award now."

"Thank you, teacher." Adam Sterling, carrying Little Ella, walked in front, then called to Yolanda Greenwood behind him, "Yolanda, come!"

Yolanda Greenwood gave Cooper Coldson an apologetic look and quickly turned to follow.

"Dad!" Little Gabriel called out with a distressed voice.

"Good boy, Dad is fine." Cooper Coldson picked up Little Gabriel and walked to the front of the podium, "Thanks for helping Dad get this opportunity earlier; Dad is really happy."

Little Gabriel felt even more pained. Clearly, his dad was the one who tried so hard to win first place earlier, yet it was the mean uncle who went up to collect the award, without even a word of thanks to his dad.

The more he thought about it, the more he disliked the mean uncle.

After receiving the award, Adam Sterling’s expression turned even more unpleasant because it was obvious to the second and third places that he wasn’t the dad in the race just now, and they were gossiping about it.

He walked briskly in front with Little Ella in his arms, while Yolanda Greenwood held the prize and followed behind.

The family passed by Cooper Coldson and Little Gabriel, walking quickly. Only Little Ella leaned silently on Adam Sterling’s shoulder and glanced back at Cooper Coldson.

"Mean uncle is so annoying!" Little Gabriel couldn’t help but stomp his foot.

Cooper Coldson also wore a dissatisfied expression, holding Little Gabriel and preparing to join the second race.

The second race was called Big Shoes. It required a parent and a child to participate. The child would be at the starting line, wearing the parent’s shoes, and run towards the finish line, where the parent would be waiting. After they meet, the parent would then carry the child, wearing another larger pair of shoes, back to the starting line. Whoever returned first would win.

Originally, Little Ella was supposed to participate in this race with her mom, but now Adam Sterling insisted on participating.

"I didn’t participate in the earlier race, so this time, I’ll join Ella. Let’s get first place together, alright?"

Little Ella nodded and looked eagerly at Yolanda Greenwood, a clear unease in her small eyes.

"Don’t worry, Ella, do your best!" Yolanda Greenwood gave a cheering gesture and said to Adam Sterling, "Good luck to you too, the ranking doesn’t matter, safety first."

Adam Sterling questioned, "Are you saying you don’t believe I can win first place?"

By this time, Cooper Coldson was already waiting at the finish line.

Yolanda Greenwood frowned, "I didn’t mean that, I just..."

"You’ll see, Cooper Coldson is no match for me, I will definitely be first." Adam Sterling interrupted Yolanda Greenwood once more, took off his shoes, and walked toward the finish line.

His lane was right next to Cooper Coldson’s, and they stood very close to each other.

"Adam Sterling, I think I should remind you," Cooper Coldson spoke in a low voice, "The condition for me being willing to step back is that you treat Yolanda and Ella well, but your attitude just now..."

"Step back?" Adam Sterling sneered, "Cooper Coldson, it’s easy to fool Yolanda with your words, but you think you can fool me? I see you’re pretending to step back just to find ways to get closer to them. You’re really showing me what a cunning businessman you are."

Cooper Coldson frowned, "What do you mean? I can stop competing with you, but you want me to completely abandon my daughter? To entirely ignore Yolanda? Then I’m sorry, I can’t do that!"
