Chapter 438: Chapter 438: What exactly is her marriage with Cooper Coldson like?
"It’s nothing." Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth, not wanting to say much to Adam Sterling.
She patted Little Ella’s head and went into the bedroom alone. After thinking about it for a while, she sent a message to Cooper Coldson, [You knew all along that the deputy manager was Caleb Sullivan, why didn’t you tell me?]
She couldn’t figure out Cooper Coldson’s motive for doing so.
As soon as Cooper Coldson saw the message, he hurriedly called back.
"You found out?" As soon as the call connected, he asked worriedly.
Yolanda’s tone wasn’t great. She immediately questioned, "Why are you helping Caleb Sullivan? Why let him run wild in the company under the guise of being your relative?"
Cooper Coldson was silent for a while before his hoarse voice emerged, "I just wanted to lend a hand."
"Whose hand are you lending? Mine?" Yolanda pressed on step by step. If it weren’t for Cooper Coldson opening the back door for Caleb Sullivan, these things wouldn’t have happened, and she wouldn’t have been mocked by Isabella Ross. She didn’t need this bit of goodwill from Cooper Coldson.
"I’m sorry." Cooper Coldson spoke again, realizing he had done more harm than good with his kindness, "I truly apologize."
Listening to his repeated apologies made Yolanda inexplicably more agitated. Her tone turned sharper, "Were you planning to keep this from me forever? Don’t you think it’s actually very dangerous? What if Caleb Sullivan intentionally wanted to harm Ella?"
Cooper Coldson took a deep breath and immediately promised, "I will speak with Caleb Sullivan and make sure you are not in any danger."
"Does Lola know?" Yolanda asked again.
"Rest assured, I haven’t let Lola Gold know. Caleb Sullivan shouldn’t be foolish enough to tell Lola Gold himself either."
Yolanda breathed a sigh of relief, "Alright, let me know when you talk to Caleb Sullivan; I want to confront him in person."
She was about to hang up when she heard Cooper Coldson say, "I’m with Caleb Sullivan now, at Coldson Group."
"Okay, I’ll be right over." Yolanda hung up the phone, quickly gathered her things, and hurried out.
"Yolanda, are you going out again?" Adam Sterling came over, looking at her with concern.
Little Ella was following behind him, eagerly watching Yolanda.
"Yes, there’s a client who urgently needs a meeting." Yolanda squatted down and gently kissed Little Ella’s forehead, "Don’t worry, Mama will be back soon."
"Goodbye, Mama!" The little one obediently waved at Yolanda.
Yolanda stood up, nodded to Adam Sterling, and quickly left.
When she arrived at the first floor of Coldson Group, Richard Reyes was already waiting there.
"Miss Yolanda, you’re here." He stepped forward, "Let’s go up, President Coldson is waiting for you."
"Thank you, Assistant Reyes." Yolanda greeted politely, internally shocked as she looked at everything inside the Coldson Group building.
This was her first time entering here after losing her memory. Everyone passing by respectfully greeted Richard Reyes.
Yolanda understood this was Cooper Coldson’s kingdom; he was the sole king of this colossal business empire.
It seemed only at this moment did Cooper Coldson’s true wealthy identity materialize, making it difficult for Yolanda to connect this gentleman-left-single with the man who had kept apologizing over the phone moments ago.
Watching the continuously rising elevator, she was momentarily lost in thought.
"Miss Yolanda, is this your... first time coming to Coldson Group after your memory loss?" Richard Reyes spoke up at the right moment.
Yolanda nodded and curiously asked, "Did I used to come often?"
"Of course, back then you were the lady of the house. You often brought our President Coldson homemade lunches and such. You don’t know how envious everyone was of President Coldson."
Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth. She was even more curious about what her marriage to Cooper Coldson was like.
At the top floor, Richard Reyes brought her to the door of the president’s office and knocked, "President Coldson, Miss Yolanda has arrived."
"Come in." Cooper Coldson’s cool and clear voice came from inside.
Richard Reyes opened the door and made a gesture for her to enter. After Yolanda went inside, he closed the door and sensibly left.
"Yolanda? What brings you here?" Caleb Sullivan, who’d been ignored on the sofa, stood up in shock when he saw Yolanda, "Did you complain to President Coldson?"
A trace of resentment appeared in his eyes. It must have been Yolanda’s complaint that cost him his job—how hateful!
"Why?" Yolanda didn’t answer but asked instead. Her anger flared up once again, "Caleb Sullivan, why did you want to harm Ella?"
"..." Caleb Sullivan quickly glanced at Cooper Coldson, then explained to Yolanda, "What nonsense are you talking about? I didn’t want to harm Ella, and Ella is fine, right? I just want to do my job well and promote Coldson’s products."
He then turned to Cooper Coldson behind them, "President Coldson, you believe me, right? I didn’t mean to harm anyone. I just thought this was the best way to market our clothing line. I had no ill intentions."
"No ill intentions?" Yolanda laughed angrily, "You think falling from such a height isn’t harmful?"
Caleb Sullivan opened his mouth but said nothing.
"Alright then, let’s throw you off once, shall we?" Yolanda’s eyes were slightly cold.
Caleb Sullivan’s expression changed, and he immediately shifted to a different demeanor, "I admit I was momentarily possessed. I apologize, Yolanda—I apologize to you, alright?"
He stepped forward and asked in a low voice, "Yolanda, you and President Coldson... what’s your relationship?"
"Our relationship is none of your business," Yolanda was disgusted by his demeanor, "No matter our relationship, it doesn’t change the fact that your behavior is despicable, Caleb Sullivan. Have you thought about what would happen if Lola found out?"
This time, Caleb Sullivan was visibly afraid.
He fell to his knees with a thud, "Yolanda, I beg you, don’t tell Lola. Otherwise, she’ll definitely divorce me. Yolanda, we’ve been married for less than a month; you surely don’t want Lola to be upset, do you? I truly know I was wrong."
He was nearly in tears, "I didn’t think it through at the time. Besides, I had read the product description; it genuinely could protect Ella. I figured since she had gone viral falling down before, she could go viral again—Yolanda, I honestly didn’t mean to harm Ella. Please believe me and don’t tell Lola. I beg you!"
"Caleb Sullivan, Lola is my best friend. Today, for her sake, I’ll help you cover it up this once, but remember, this is the last time. If I find out you’ve done anything bad again, I’ll make sure Lola divorces you!"
"Thank you, Yolanda, thank you, Yolanda." Caleb Sullivan was immensely grateful.
Yolanda turned and looked at Cooper Coldson, "Let’s keep this from Lola for now; I’m heading back."
"I’ll see you out." Cooper Coldson was about to follow her out when Caleb Sullivan grabbed him.
"President Coldson, Yolanda has already forgiven me. Please let me return to work. I promise to do a good job." Caleb Sullivan pleaded earnestly.
Cooper Coldson’s expression instantly turned frightful, "Weren’t you curious about my relationship with Yolanda just now?"
Caleb Sullivan instinctively released his grip.
Cooper Coldson said coldly, "I am Ella’s biological father!"
