Chapter 419: Chapter 419: They are Blind to Treasure

Cooper soon called Noah, saying he wanted to meet Adam.

"Sure, do you want me to set it up for you, or should I just give you his number?" Noah wasn’t surprised; he figured the two would eventually need to meet alone.

"I’ll set it up myself." Cooper thought for a moment and said.

After getting the phone number, he immediately sent a message over, [Hi Adam, I’m Cooper. I’d like to meet you alone.]

Adam quickly replied, [Okay, I’m free tomorrow.]

After they confirmed the time and place, Cooper called Noah again, "Bro, Adam agreed to meet up with me."

"Good, I’ll stop by tomorrow as well, just show my face and then leave." Noah was still a bit worried. One was his best friend, the other his brother; he didn’t want them to argue too fiercely.

"Alright, I’ll send you the details." Cooper hung up and then sent the information to Noah via WeChat.

When he returned to the hospital room, Isabella had packed everything up. "Yolanda went back?"

"Yeah." Cooper picked up Little Gabriel, "Let’s go, Gabriel, time to go home. Daddy will take you to Grandma’s house and pick you up in the evening, okay?"

Little Gabriel nodded, "Daddy, come pick me up early. I want to video call with my sister."

"Okay, got it." Cooper sent everyone back to the family house and then went to the office, unexpectedly running into someone downstairs at Coldson Group.

"President Coldson, hello." Caleb Sullivan had been waiting there for a while; he didn’t have Cooper’s phone number and couldn’t enter Coldson Group, so he had no choice but to wait outside. "Thank you for coming to my wedding yesterday. If there were any shortcomings in the hospitality, please forgive us."

"Mr. Sullivan?" Cooper was surprised, not expecting to see Caleb Sullivan there, "Are you looking for me?"

"Yes, President Coldson, I’ve been waiting for a few hours," Caleb Sullivan followed Cooper, "They said without an appointment, I can’t go in."

Cooper said flatly, "That’s company policy. Actually, if you need to find me, you could have Lola Gold contact me in advance."

"Oh, no need for such trouble, and besides, I’m currently out of work, so waiting a few more hours doesn’t matter." Caleb Sullivan smiled apologetically.

Of course, he did have a job, but after learning about Cooper’s status at the wedding, he thought he could get a better one.

So today, he took a leave of absence to corner Cooper.

"What can I do for you, Mr. Sullivan?" Richard Reyes, following behind, could tell that Caleb Sullivan had come secretly without Lola Gold’s knowledge.

Caleb Sullivan glanced disdainfully at Richard Reyes and continued to talk to Cooper, "President Coldson, honestly, I’m here for a favor. I know you and Lola are good friends, so I dare to come to you with this request..."

He quickly glanced at Cooper’s expression, seeing no sign of being asked to leave, so he continued, "President Coldson, considering how big Coldson Group is and the many employees, can’t you arrange a job for me? I would be deeply grateful."

Even though Cooper was quite displeased, he couldn’t outright refuse since the man was Lola Gold’s husband, and Lola was Yolanda Greenwood’s best friend.

He looked at Richard Reyes, "Assistant Reyes, could you arrange something?"

"Yes, President Coldson!" Richard Reyes gestured politely, "Mr. Sullivan, there’s a café over there, let’s go talk there."

"Thank you, President Coldson, thank you, President Coldson. I’ll treat you to a meal someday." Caleb Sullivan finally stopped bothering Cooper and watched him enter the Coldson Group building.

"Mr. Sullivan, this way please!" Richard Reyes spoke again.

Caleb Sullivan turned around, his gaze full of disdain when he looked at Richard Reyes again, "What’s your name?"

"Richard Reyes, you can just call me Assistant Reyes, Mr. Sullivan." Richard Reyes forced a smile.

"Assistant Reyes?" Caleb Sullivan sneered even more, chuckling, "So you’re President Coldson’s secretary? What kind of man works as a secretary, seriously..."

He shook his head and clicked his tongue twice.

Richard Reyes said nothing, recalling Lola Gold, the beautiful and spirited lady, and looking again at this man in front of him, he thought Lola Gold really had poor taste.

At the café, Caleb Sullivan unceremoniously ordered coffee and pastries, acting almost like Richard Reyes’s boss.

"Mr. Sullivan, may I ask what type of work you did before?"

Caleb Sullivan impatiently frowned, "What does it matter what work I did? President Coldson told you to arrange a job for me, so I should get to choose freely."

"..." Richard Reyes was speechless, "Mr. Sullivan, but I at least need to know which industry you’re in, right?"

Caleb Sullivan took a sip of coffee before speaking arrogantly, "I was in media, so you should arrange a marketing director position for me. I’ll definitely contribute to Coldson Group."

Marketing director?

Richard Reyes’s eyelid twitched; one might think he was poaching a high-salary employee.

He smiled politely, "Mr. Sullivan, there’s definitely no director position available. Coldson Group’s welfare and benefits are among the best in Gray City and even nationwide. People in director positions are very stable and won’t leave so easily."

"Then just fire one," Caleb Sullivan said nonchalantly, "I promise I’ll do better than them."

Richard Reyes nearly laughed out of annoyance, "Then may I ask what position Mr. Sullivan held at your previous company?"

Caleb Sullivan fell silent instantly, after a while snorted, "I didn’t make director before, but that just means they underestimated me. I’m certainly capable..."

"Alright." Richard Reyes was done with dealing with him, "We could terminate a director, but as a legitimate business, doing so takes time, Mr. Sullivan. Please go back and wait for news; I’ll contact you when a position opens up."

He stood up, ready to leave.

"Wait," Caleb Sullivan hurriedly stopped him, knowing the waiting could be indefinite, "Never mind, I’ll settle for less. You give me a position for now, then once things are sorted, I’ll transfer over, won’t I?"

Richard Reyes turned back, "Alright, the Children’s Wear Company has a marketing assistant manager position available, Mr. Sullivan can try that first."

"Assistant manager?" Caleb Sullivan calculated internally, though the position of assistant manager wasn’t high, it was still much better than being merely a specialist now. He asked expectantly, "What about the salary?"

Richard Reyes responded coolly, "The annual salary is between three hundred thousand to five hundred thousand, depending on the department’s performance."

Caleb Sullivan’s eyes instantly lit up, knowing he currently earned only seven or eight thousand a month. He stood up immediately with a smile and said, "Good, I’ll take the assistant manager position. I’ll report in tomorrow."

He was about to leave when he turned back and said, "Oh, by the way, Lola likes sweets, I’ll pack up a few pieces, and you’ll cover the bill later."

Richard Reyes’s smile froze on his face, and he nodded with difficulty.
