Chapter 411 We Should Tell Yolanda the Truth

Chapter 411: Chapter 411 We Should Tell Yolanda the Truth

"Is that so?" Noah Coldson chuckled helplessly at his brother, "It seems in your eyes, your big brother is so despicable and shameless, isn’t he?"

He strode towards the car.

"I didn’t mean that." Cooper could only catch up, "It’s just that, Yolanda disappeared for three years, and you also disappeared for three years. She appeared, and then you also appeared... I just thought you were together."

"These three years..." Noah stopped, apologetically looking at Cooper, "I indeed always knew Yolanda’s whereabouts."

He was ready to get in the car, but Cooper held the car door down. Little Gabriel was in the car, and some words were inconvenient to discuss if they got in.

Cooper looked at Noah with a heavy expression, "Big brother, what really happened back then?"

At this point, Noah also had no need to hide from Cooper, "Back then, Yolanda came to Adam Sterling and me, saying she wanted to leave Gray City completely and break away from you. She wanted to fake her death..."

Cooper clenched his fists. How much did Yolanda Greenwood hate him to have such thoughts?

Noah continued, "Then came the incident of jumping into the sea. Actually, at that time, Yolanda wasn’t holding Ella, but a toy. We had already prepared rescue measures in the sea to ensure Yolanda wouldn’t die, but unexpectedly..."

He sighed deeply, "An accident still happened. Yolanda’s head was injured, and she was unconscious for several days. When she woke up, she had forgotten everything."

Cooper looked at Noah with pity, his voice trembling as he asked, "What happened next? Why did Yolanda... marry Adam Sterling?"

"Ella needed a father, and obviously, all of Yolanda’s memories here were unhappy," Noah sighed again, "Adam Sterling said at the time that Yolanda Greenwood’s amnesia was largely her brain’s self-protection, her subconscious wanting to forget everything here, so we agreed to tell her she was already married, fabricating a beautiful past for her."

Cooper’s expression changed; he vaguely realized something.

"Initially, I was indeed the most suitable choice," Noah smiled bitterly, "But my feelings for Yolanda... I felt if I were to carry out such deception, I really couldn’t live with a clear conscience, so ultimately, we chose Adam Sterling."

"Big brother, so you’re saying..." Cooper confirmed word by word, "So you’re saying, Yolanda only thinks she married Adam Sterling, but they actually never married, right?"

"Yes." Noah nodded, "Their marriage is nothing but a well-intentioned lie."

"A well-intentioned lie is still a lie." Cooper said, looking again at the distance, where Yolanda and her family of three hailed a cab and were leaving.

Adam Sterling was holding Little Ella, smiling broadly, while Yolanda leaned happily against him. They looked so happy and harmonious.

Cooper could clearly feel the love in Adam Sterling’s eyes for Yolanda; he couldn’t bear to look any longer and withdrew his gaze, asking, "What does Adam Sterling mean now? Did he... fall in love with Yolanda?"

"Who can say for sure about such things now?" Noah’s expression wasn’t very forthcoming with emotion, "But, isn’t Yolanda worth everyone’s affection? With three years of a fake marriage, perhaps many things have really changed."

"No way!" Cooper spoke sternly, "This is all just a scam, Yolanda has been deceived, we can’t let it continue, we should tell her the truth."

"The truth?" Noah raised an eyebrow, "What truth? That her parents were swapped, that she was despised and mistreated from birth? Or that she saved someone without any gratitude, only family scolding? Or that she fell in love with someone, yet ended up jumping into the sea because of that person?"

Cooper was instantly silenced.

"Little Cooper, those memories were truly too bitter, just let her forget them." Noah choked up as he spoke.

But Cooper didn’t understand, "Then why did you still let her come back? Aren’t you afraid... she might remember?"

"The jewelry exhibition was something Yolanda contacted herself, she said she was in Gray City at the time. I was actually opposed, but," Noah was clearly confused too, "But Adam Sterling said it was okay for her to come, I really don’t know what Adam Sterling is thinking."

Cooper looked up again in the direction they left, Yolanda and her family of three had already left by taxi.

"Let’s go, Gabriel is still waiting." Noah patted Cooper’s shoulder, "These three years haven’t been any easier for me, but I still have to say, I’m sorry!"

"It’s nothing," Cooper gave a bitter smile, "I brought this upon myself."

He opened the car door, letting Noah get in first, and then followed.

Little Gabriel was still wearing his little suit, sitting quietly. The car had excellent soundproofing, so he didn’t know what Cooper and Noah were discussing outside, but he subconsciously felt it was about his mother.

"Hello, Gabriel, do you remember your uncle?" Noah proactively spoke to Little Gabriel.

Little Gabriel looked blankly, of course, he didn’t remember.

"It’s okay if you don’t remember; we can meet anew," Noah extended his hand first, "Hello, Gabriel, I’m your father’s elder brother, which makes me your uncle. Nice to meet you."

Little Gabriel turned to Cooper, seemingly seeking confirmation of Noah’s words.

"Be good, call him uncle." Cooper patted the little one’s head.

Only then did Little Gabriel look at Noah again, and casually called out, "Uncle."

"Good boy!" Noah retracted his hand, faintly feeling Little Gabriel’s temperament was somewhat like Cooper’s when he was young, but clearly more indifferent.

"Back to the old house." Cooper instructed the driver.

The car quickly started, the brothers both looking out the window, each lost in thought, without further words.

In the other taxi, Little Ella sat between Yolanda and Adam Sterling, continuously talking to Adam Sterling.

"Did Dad catch the bad guys?"

"Of course!" Adam Sterling responded with a smile.

"Were the bad guys fierce? Did they hurt Dad?" The little one seemed to always have endless words for her dad.

Adam Sterling was also extremely patient, "The bad guys were a bit fierce, but Dad’s not afraid, and they can’t hurt him."

"Dad is amazing," Little Ella clapped with pride, then looked at Yolanda, "Mom, isn’t Dad the greatest person in the world?"

Yolanda laughed, ruffling the little one’s hair, "Yes, Dad is the greatest."

As she spoke, she exchanged a glance with Adam Sterling. At that moment, he also looked over, and they both smiled at each other, then withdrew their gazes in synchrony.

Soon, the taxi stopped at the entrance of their apartment complex, and the three of them got out of the car.

Yolanda led the way, "Actually, I think staying at a hotel is fine too, but Lola insisted I stay at her place, said she wouldn’t live there after she gets married, and told me not to be too polite."

Adam Sterling, carrying Little Ella, followed behind, "You two have always had such a good relationship, there’s no need to stand on ceremony."
