Chapter 381: Chapter 381: Ella Shouldn’t Be Sent to Kindergarten Again
Little Gabriel heard this and pouted, looking so incredibly hurt.
"Gabriel, be good. Daddy knows you miss mommy," Cooper Coldson saw how hurt he was, "Daddy misses her just like you do. Believe in daddy, we’ll definitely find mommy, but you mustn’t call anyone else mommy now, okay?"
"No, no!" Little Gabriel resisted fiercely; that’s his mommy, that’s his mommy. He shouted at Cooper Coldson, "Stupid daddy, stupid daddy!"
"Alright, I’m a stupid daddy. Stupid daddy apologizes to you, don’t be sad, Gabriel." Cooper Coldson felt an overwhelming heartache.
He truly was a stupid daddy, an idiot who lost his wife and daughter, so he must spend the rest of his life missing and looking for them.
But his son was so innocent; he felt such heartache for little Gabriel.
At this moment, Elsie Adams called back.
"Be good, daddy’s going to answer a call, and soon you can call Ella. Okay?" Cooper Coldson patted Little Gabriel’s head and got up to answer the phone, "Hello, Teacher Adams, how did it go?"
Elsie Adams sighed deeply, "I’m really sorry, Mr. Coldson, but Ella’s mom isn’t comfortable giving you her phone number."
The rejection came unexpectedly, making Cooper Coldson furrow his brows. He looked back at his eager son and felt even more upset.
"If it’s inconvenient, then let it be," when he spoke again, a clear loneliness in his voice, "I was indeed too abrupt."
Elsie Adams sighed again, "Mr. Coldson, just tell Gabriel that Ella’s mom called and said Ella is fine, so he shouldn’t worry. This child is quite pitiful."
"Alright, thank you, Teacher Adams." Cooper Coldson quickly hung up the phone.
He felt unpleasant, even thinking maybe Gabriel’s fondness for Ella had made Ella’s mom uncomfortable.
He was a bit worried about little Gabriel.
"Daddy?" Little Gabriel saw he hadn’t returned, so he ran over, looking at him with anticipation.
Cooper Coldson’s heart ached again; he squatted before his child, lying helplessly, "Gabriel, Ella has already fallen asleep, so it’s not convenient to call her now, but she told Teacher Adams to tell you to eat well, and you’ll meet at the kindergarten tomorrow!"
The light in Little Gabriel’s eyes visibly dimmed; he lowered his head, silent and unmoving.
"Gabriel, be good; shall we have dinner first?" Cooper Coldson patiently coaxed him, "Once you finish dinner and sleep well, tomorrow will come in no time, and then you can see Ella, okay?"
Little Gabriel lifted his head abruptly, evidently seeing hope in Cooper Coldson’s words. He nodded vigorously and immediately went to eat obediently.
After dinner, he took a bath and went to bed obediently, even refusing Cooper Coldson’s bedtime story, just hoping tomorrow would come sooner.
"Good night!" Cooper Coldson gently kissed Little Gabriel’s forehead before leaving.
He hoped his worries were unnecessary, hoped that Ella and her mom wouldn’t see his beloved Gabriel as trouble.
Meanwhile, Yolanda Greenwood was scared by so-called fans and discharged Little Ella from the hospital, returning home at once.
"Oh my, what happened?" Lola Gold was startled seeing them back so late, with Ella injured, "What happened?"
"Ella went to the zoo today and ended up getting hurt." Yolanda Greenwood still felt heartbroken.
"Godmother, it doesn’t hurt at all." Little Ella said cheerfully, "The doctor lady said my injury isn’t serious, and I can soon go back to kindergarten."
She vaguely heard her mom arguing with Teacher Adams, fearing mom wouldn’t let her go to kindergarten anymore.
On the way back, when mom asked about what happened, she told a small lie, saying she accidentally fell into the panda’s area, though she knew Teacher Adams let go, causing her to fall.
Her little mind didn’t grasp the severity of the matter; she just thought she might have done something wrong, making Teacher Adams angry. It’s okay, she’ll behave better next time, and Teacher Adams will like her.
Yolanda Greenwood looked at the little one helplessly; she understood her daughter’s thoughts. But thinking of Elsie Adams’ aggressive demeanor frightened her.
She feared Elsie Adams deliberately let Little Ella fall into the panda’s area, despite Ella saying it wasn’t so.
She recalled Daisy Dawson and others who visited Ella, mentioning how Ella’s zoo video went viral, deciding to look online for clues.
Yolanda Greenwood browsed online for over an hour; many related videos were found, but most were shot after the incident, after Little Ella fell in, so she still found nothing.
"Mom," Little Ella said eagerly, "Can I video call dad? Just for a while, okay?"
Yolanda Greenwood was amused; this little trickster wanted to play the pity card again. She handed the phone to Little Ella, reminding, "Daddy is very busy; don’t rush him to come, understand?"
"Oh." Little Ella pouted unhappily, "Doesn’t mommy want dad to come over soon? Doesn’t mommy miss dad?"
Yolanda Greenwood was stunned by the question; she seemed genuinely rarely to think of him.
She tugged at the corner of her mouth, "Alright, go ahead, remember just ten minutes, you also need to rest early today."
"Got it." Little Ella sat on the sofa; her ankle had healed, but she still needed to rest and not move around freely.
She quickly made the video call, sweetly calling, "Daddy!"
The man on the other end of the video looked shocked seeing the bandage on her face. "Ella, what happened to your face? Are you hurt? Did you hurt anywhere else? How’s mom?"
"Hehe," Little Ella giggled happily, "Daddy, if you’re so worried, you should come see me soon."
"Ella! No mischief!" Yolanda Greenwood warned sternly.
Little Ella pouted and smiled at the phone, "Daddy, I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt at all, and the doctor lady said it’s not serious. You don’t have to worry."
The man chatted with the little one for a while before asking to speak to Yolanda Greenwood, concerned, "What exactly happened?"
"It’s okay, you don’t need to worry." Yolanda Greenwood forced a smile, "The kindergarten organized a zoo trip, and she accidentally fell."
She didn’t mention her concerns, not wanting him to worry while abroad.
"However," Yolanda Greenwood took the phone into the hallway, "I’m wondering if we should keep Ella away from kindergarten? Her injury isn’t serious today, but who can guarantee next time? I’m really scared."
