Chapter 375: Chapter 375: Make a Pinky Promise to Not Change for a Hundred Years

Yolanda Greenwood tried to hold back her tears. She knew little Ella definitely wanted to go, and since she wanted her to live an ordinary life, she really couldn’t keep worrying about everything.

She patted the little one’s head, "Alright, Mommy knows Ella wants to go, Mommy agrees."

"Really?" Little Ella’s eyes widened, holding back tears, "Mommy, are you too worried? Ella doesn’t have to go."

"Silly child, of course, Mommy will worry, but Mommy wants Ella to be happy even more." Yolanda gently kissed the little one’s eye, "Mommy agrees you can go, but you must promise Mommy, definitely to be careful..."

Little Ella suddenly hugged Yolanda’s neck, "Mommy, I love you, love you so much, I love you for a hundred years, I love you for ten thousand years, even longer than ten thousand years."

Yolanda was caught between laughter and tears, knowing the little one was happy. She secretly hoped in her heart that nothing untoward would happen tomorrow.

She signed her name, and in the evening, she packed some snacks into little Ella’s backpack, having a restless night’s sleep.

The next day, after dropping little Ella at kindergarten, Yolanda went to find Elsie Adams.

"Teacher Adams, I’m really sorry to have disturbed you last night."

Elsie Adams didn’t look too pleased, her tone somewhat impatient, "I know you’re worried about your child, but which parent isn’t? If everyone were like you, even ten teachers in a class wouldn’t be enough."

"Yes, yes, yes." Yolanda could only apologize repeatedly, finally saying cautiously, "Today, would Teacher Adams please look after her a bit more..."

"How many times have I said it," Elsie glared, "there are no special circumstances here; everyone is treated the same. If you’re uneasy, you can take Ella home."

Yolanda didn’t speak; she didn’t quite understand where Elsie Adams’ inexplicable hostility came from.

Last night, she felt Elsie Adams was a bit strange, speaking sharply and always suggesting Ella should leave the kindergarten.

She tried hard to suppress her inner anger, speaking as calmly as possible, "Teacher Adams, of course, you’re right about treating everyone the same, but Ella’s situation is special. Isn’t it appropriate to give her a bit more care? If there’s something I did wrong causing you displeasure, you can tell me directly."

Elsie sneered, "Miss Greenwood, you’re mistaken. You’re not the sun; no one revolves around you. I don’t have the energy to hold grudges against you. Ella indeed is special, but as a teacher, I have my arrangements. I don’t need to explain everything to you, right? If you’re dissatisfied, you might as well complain to Director Connor. After all, you two have a good relationship."

"..." Yolanda was even more puzzled, "I don’t have a special relationship with Director Connor. I wonder if there’s been some misunderstanding between us?"

"No misunderstanding. Miss Greenwood, if there’s nothing important, don’t waste my time, okay?" Elsie replied sarcastically.

Yolanda sighed, nodding slightly, "I have nothing more to say. Teacher Adams, you go ahead with your work."

As she looked up, she noticed little Gabriel standing at the classroom door.

Little Gabriel clearly hesitated for a moment. Seeing Yolanda standing still, he mustered up the courage to run forward.

"Where are you going?" Elsie tried to stop him but failed.

Little Gabriel ran up to Yolanda, looking up at her and slowly saying word by word, "I’ll take care of my sister, don’t worry."

Yolanda felt a warmth in her heart, her eyes burning as if about to tear up.

As a mother, everything that just happened left her feeling quite upset, making her even more worried about little Ella. After all, having a poor relationship with a teacher is unsettling for any parent.

But now, here is this little boy, deliberately running up to her and clumsily promising word by word that he’d take good care of Ella, which truly moved her as a mother.

Yolanda sniffled, holding back her tears, crouching down in front of the little one, "Thank you, Gabriel. When there’s a chance, Auntie will treat you and your dad to a meal, okay?"

Little Gabriel’s eyes clearly brightened, then he stretched out his pinky finger.

Yolanda was taken aback, but she quickly understood that he wanted to pinky swear, making her promise to keep it in the future.

She couldn’t help but chuckle softly, gently hooking her pinky finger with little Gabriel’s, "We’ll pinky swear, a hundred years and no changes!"

Little Gabriel gave a big smile, thought for a moment, then suddenly leaned forward to hug Yolanda’s neck before turning and running off.

Yolanda stood there, slightly dazed, finally letting out a light laugh and standing up to leave.

Elsie watched everything unfold from the classroom door, gritting her teeth in anger. Not only did Cooper Coldson have a fondness for Yolanda, but even the autistic Gabriel subconsciously wanted to get close to her, which was simply infuriating.

Why? Yolanda doesn’t deserve it! She’s just a wretched woman who abandoned her husband and children!

Before everyone was about to leave, Director Sadie Connor personally came by. In truth, she didn’t support the idea of the children going out, but Elsie insisted, claiming it would help Gabriel Coldson’s autism.

Since this kindergarten was built by Cooper Coldson, and Elsie was specifically brought in by him, Sadie Connor couldn’t oppose anymore and had to agree.

She found Elsie and the others, repeatedly reminding them to be careful, emphasizing that nothing should go wrong.

Soon, everyone set off.

Elsie organized the children into pairs, holding hands. She initially wanted to separate little Gabriel and little Ella, but Gabriel kept tightly holding Ella’s hand, so she had no choice but to let them be a pair.

Along the way, little Ella chatted non-stop, appearing extremely excited.

Little Gabriel listened quietly. He usually said very little, even if he did, just one or two words. His promise to Yolanda was the longest sentence he had spoken in his life.

As he listened to little Ella, he would occasionally zone out because he kept thinking about the scent of his mother’s body, so fragrant and warm. He wished he could sleep with her.

The ride from the kindergarten to the zoo took more than half an hour. Upon reaching the destination, everyone orderly got off the bus.

The play activity soon began, with three teachers, each in charge of six or seven children, and among the children Elsie was responsible for were little Gabriel and little Ella.

In fact, she had only one goal today. She wanted to ensure little Ella got hurt so she wouldn’t be able to come to kindergarten anymore.

Yet all along the way, little Gabriel held onto little Ella, even spending more time looking at her than at the animals, leaving Elsie with no opportunity to act.

She was getting anxious.

"Brother, there’s a panda over there. I love pandas the most," little Ella said happily.

Little Gabriel smiled, sharing his sister’s happiness.

Elsie glanced at the panda area, which had a very high fence. Soon, she came up with a plan.
