Chapter 36 Yolanda Cut Her Wrists Again

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Yolanda Cut Her Wrists Again

The next morning, Cooper Coldson had been waiting for an hour in the hotel lobby but had not seen anyone.

Finally, unable to endure any longer, he went straight to room 802.

However, after knocking for a long time, no one came to the door.

A passing cleaning staff cautiously reminded him, "Sir, are you looking for Miss Yolanda?"

Yolanda had been staying here for so many days and had already become familiar with the cleaning staff.

"Has she gone out?" Cooper asked coldly.

"It doesn’t seem so," the cleaner recalled, "Miss Yolanda didn’t seem to have come back last night."

Cooper frowned, "Then... What about someone with the surname Pei? Has he not come back either?"

"Huh?" The cleaner did not quite understand, "Room 802 is only occupied by Miss Yolanda."

"She’s not staying with someone with the surname Pei?" Cooper was slightly surprised.

The cleaner shook his head, "I don’t think so, I haven’t seen anyone come by, Miss Yolanda seems to be very busy with work, leaving early and returning late, I haven’t seen her bring anyone back."

Cooper cogitated as he went downstairs.

After dialing the phone a few more times, he found that the other party had turned off their phone.

He only realized one thing after he got back into the car, Baruy’s office building was nearby.

"Go to Baruy," he instructed the driver.

Half an hour later, Cooper appeared at the entrance of Baruy Corporation.

As a handsome guy who had appeared downstairs a few times before, many people recognized him.

"Hello, are you looking for Director Greenwood?" someone boldly initiated the conversation.

"I’m looking for Yolanda, the Painter here," Cooper said coolly.

"Oh, their department is over there, I will take you."

Cooper was quickly led to Yolanda’s office.

"Sophie, this handsome guy is looking for Yolanda."

Sophie Taylor recognized Cooper Coldson at first glance; she had heard from Yolanda that Cooper planned to divorce Yolanda to marry Melissa Greenwood.

She wasn’t very pleasant, "Yolanda hasn’t arrived yet."

"Where is her workstation? I’ll sit and wait for a while."

Cooper disregarded Sophie’s demeanor.

"There!" Sophie jerked her chin upward.

She quickly sent Yolanda a WeChat message.

[Yolanda, where are you? Your soon-to-be ex-husband has come to the office.]

Actually, she found it a bit strange, as it seemed like the first time Yolanda was late.

Yolanda’s workstation was not tidy, with manuscripts and scrap papers haphazardly spread across the desk, paintbrushes and other items carelessly placed.

Cooper sat down, and the first thing he saw on the scrap paper were five big characters: Cooper, you scumbag!

He silently clenched his molars.

He was surprised; Yolanda wasn’t cohabiting with someone surnamed Pei, she actually was busy with work.

His gaze fell again on those manuscripts.

Last time, Melissa Greenwood showed him a gown designed by Yolanda which he had dismissed entirely without looking while he was furious.

Seeing those drafts on the desk, a hint of awe emerged in his eyes, and he was utterly shocked!

Yolanda’s talent was still there, her style had matured, and her use of colors was bolder yet still flawless.

A blood-red image flashed through his mind, his heart suddenly tightened, and a cold sweat broke out on his back.

"Strange!" Sophie across the desk looked puzzled, "Yolanda’s phone is off, why isn’t she here yet? I hope nothing has happened."

Cooper put down the painting, "Has this ever happened before?"

Sophie shook her head, "Yolanda is never late."

Right.

In over a year with the Coldson family, Yolanda, as a wife, had never been irresponsible; she wouldn’t just abandon her duties at work.

Could something have happened?

Cooper stood up to leave when his phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Melissa Greenwood.

Cooper instinctively didn’t want to answer, but he was already at the elevator door, and the call hadn’t hung up yet.

He reluctantly answered.

"Cooper... something... something happened..."

Melissa Greenwood’s voice was trembling, clearly choked with tears.

"What’s wrong?"

"It’s Yolanda, Yolanda, she... she slit her wrists again!"

Cooper staggered, his phone nearly dropped from his grasp.

He barely steadied himself against the wall, closing his eyes, vivid red blood dominating his vision, nearly suffocating him.

"Cooper, come quickly, we are at the Central Hospital, hurry!"

"Alright, I’m on my way."

Cooper hung up the phone, it took a while before he started walking and entered the elevator.

Slit her wrists again?

Was it real this time?

This woman is completely insane!

When he arrived at the hospital, Eliana Reed was crying very hard in the corridor, Melissa Greenwood was comforting her beside her.

They seemed unaware of Cooper’s arrival, softly speaking.

"Last night, she said she couldn’t divorce Cooper. She had to find a way, I didn’t expect... didn’t expect it to be this."

"Auntie, don’t worry, Yolanda has her own lucky star, she will be fine."

"Melissa, Yolanda is my only daughter, I can’t lose her."

"Auntie, I understand, I really do."

Cooper stood a short distance away, feeling his heart sink slowly.

As expected, it was another trick played by Yolanda.

Melissa spotted him first, got up, and ran over, "Cooper, you’re here."

"What did the doctor say?"

Cooper asked expressionlessly.

"The doctor said she was brought in just in time, there shouldn’t be any serious issues, but... Yolanda hasn’t woken up yet."

"She brought it upon herself!" Cooper cursed, but didn’t immediately turn to leave.

Melissa knew Cooper had heard her conversation with Eliana Reed.

She was surprised that Cooper hadn’t left.

Was he waiting for Yolanda to wake up?

Her mind raced, and she immediately grabbed Cooper’s wrist, "Cooper, about our marriage... maybe we should call it off, I don’t want to harm Yolanda again."

"This has nothing to do with you."

Cooper still showed no signs of leaving, instead continuously glancing toward the emergency room.

"Cooper, you must stay."

Melissa spoke earnestly, "Once Yolanda wakes up, let’s go in together and tell her that you’ve agreed not to divorce."

"Melissa!"

Cooper was incredibly agitated.

"We have no reason to indulge her like this, she is ruthless in her methods for her own goals, whether she lives or dies has nothing to do with us."

He decided to leave, "I’m going back first, you should go back too."

"Cooper!" Melissa watched as Cooper left, a triumphant smile curling at her lips.

Eliana Reed approached, "Has he gone?"

Melissa nodded.

Last night, she had arranged for someone to take Yolanda back with Eliana Reed and personally slit Yolanda’s wrists.

She wanted to completely destroy her.

When Yolanda woke up, it was already the afternoon.

Eliana Reed was sleeping beside the bed.

Yolanda moved her hand and then realized what had happened.

Her right wrist was wrapped tightly in bandages, the whole hand dangled powerless, almost unable to move.

The nightmare from senior year had reawakened... Yolanda listlessly tugged at Eliana’s clothes.

"Wake up, wake up."

Yet, Eliana was fast asleep, showing no response.

Yolanda was furious, what exactly had Eliana done to her last night? Was the incident back then not an accident?

She grabbed a pillow with her left hand and forcefully threw it at Eliana.

"Wake up!!!"
