Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Yolanda Greenwood and Ella Jumped into the Sea and Died
The TV was broadcasting a piece of breaking news: a woman holding a child jumped into the sea from a ferry.
The incident was inadvertently captured by a tourist. Although the footage was shot from a distance, it was clear enough to make out the woman’s face—it was... Yolanda Greenwood’s face.
Cooper Coldson sat on the ground, as if he had fallen into an icy pit, his entire body shaking.
The TV kept replaying the footage of the woman jumping into the sea, even zooming in on the woman’s face several times to find her family.
Cooper’s eyes were fixed on that face, muttering incessantly, "Impossible, impossible..."
Isabella Ross was called out from the nursery. She saw Cooper sitting on the floor in a daze, and her face immediately turned pale with fear.
"What’s wrong?" She almost ran downstairs, nearly stumbling, "Cooper, what’s happening to you?"
She ran to his side, trying to pull Cooper up while looking at the TV, "Cooper, get up, what on earth..."
She also saw the news report, covering her mouth in disbelief, "Isn’t that... Yolanda... How could Yolanda... how could she jump into the sea?"
Worried, she looked at her son, "Cooper, don’t scare me, get up first."
"That’s not Yolanda!" Cooper suddenly said.
"What?" Isabella’s eyes grew more worried, "Cooper, stand up, talk to me properly."
Cooper slowly stood up. He looked down, repeating his words, "That’s not Yolanda!"
"Cooper, don’t scare me, look at me, are you feeling unwell..." Isabella was so scared that she was incoherent.
But Cooper ignored her, instead taking out his phone and dialing quickly.
When the call connected, his voice was icy, "What game are you playing? Do you think this is funny?"
Noah Coldson’s expression changed, "Cooper, what are you talking about? Did you see the news?"
"There’s nothing interesting about those deceitful things." Cooper’s face returned to normal, except for his eyes which were exceptionally dark and calm, as if without a ripple. He sat back on the sofa, "Yolanda couldn’t have jumped into the sea, let alone with Ella, so I don’t believe a word of that news."
"Cooper, I understand how you feel. To be honest, this happening doesn’t make me feel any better." Noah seemed unable to continue.
After quite a while, he continued, "But that’s the fact. We are all at Yolanda’s place now, come over, I have something to show you."
The call was suddenly disconnected, yet Cooper remained as if unaware, keeping the phone to his ear.
Isabella waited beside him. Seeing he didn’t move, she nervously reminded him, "Cooper, your elder brother has already hung up the phone..."
"He’s not my brother!" Cooper suddenly roared, "He’s a liar!"
"Cooper..." Isabella was extremely worried, having never seen Cooper so out of control, "Calm down, I know you’re hurting..."
"Why should I be hurting?" Cooper seemed to remember something, standing up and heading out.
Isabella hurried to catch up, worriedly asking, "Cooper, where are you going?"
"I’m going to see that liar. I want to see how he plans to deceive me further?" Cooper sneered, "I’ll expose his lies in front of everyone."
"Cooper..." Isabella cried bitterly, watching Cooper like this, not knowing what she could do.
She called for a driver to take Cooper out, then quickly called Noah.
"Mom?" Noah’s voice sounded utterly pained.
Isabella’s heart sank immediately but still clung to the last hope for Cooper, "Little Noah, tell me the truth..."
"It truly is Yolanda, mom..." On the other end, Noah seemed unable to control his emotions any longer, crying softly, "Mom, it really is Yolanda, she’s dead, she’s dead, Ella... Ella is also dead."
"How could this happen? How could this happen?" Isabella collapsed powerless onto the sofa, "She had already made it through, why would she do such a foolish thing? And my Ella, my Ella..."
"Mom, it’s come to this, do you still want to blame Yolanda?" Noah tried to control his emotions, "If it weren’t for you and Cooper insisting on taking Gabriel back, causing such an event, yet only thinking of taking back Gabriel, would Yolanda have been driven to jump into the sea?"
Isabella could hardly speak, struggling after a long time to say, "Little Noah, are you going to blame us too?"
"I don’t want to blame anyone, there’s no use blaming." Noah’s voice was very distant, filled with indifference.
"Little Noah, if you must blame someone, blame mom, it’s mom who forced Cooper to take back Gabriel," Isabella sobbed uncontrollably, "Cooper is already on his way to you, he’s not well right now, please have pity on mom, don’t blame him, alright?"
"I told you, I don’t blame anyone." Noah hung up the phone.
Isabella sat on the sofa, feeling like the entire Coldson Group world was about to collapse.
And upstairs there’s little Gabriel, how will they tell him? When he grows up, if he learns that his mother and sister died by jumping into the sea, how heartbroken will he be?
"My poor child, my poor Gabriel!" Isabella could no longer control herself, collapsed onto the sofa, crying out in despair, "How could this happen? How did things become like this?"
On the other side, Cooper soon arrived at Yolanda and Lola Gold’s place.
Lola Gold opened the door, and when she saw Cooper, her swollen eyes filled with resentment, "Why wasn’t it you who died?"
She clearly knew Cooper was coming, directly turned and went back to her room, where the sound of crying quickly began, making it very uncomfortable to hear.
In the living room, Noah and Adam Sterling were both there, tears on their faces, looking extremely sorrowful.
Cooper sneered, "You act like you’re in a real drama!"
"Cooper, at this time, we have no reason to deceive you." Noah spoke muffledly, "Stop lying to yourself."
"How could Yolanda jump into the sea?" Cooper glared, "With Ella, no less; how could that be? She loved Ella so much, she would never do that!"
"Cooper," at this moment, Adam Sterling handed over a folder, "Under normal circumstances, Yolanda indeed wouldn’t have done this, but... she was ill, she has been ill for a long time."
Cooper looked at the patient’s name on the folder cover, Yolanda.
He didn’t reach for it but looked at Adam in confusion, "Illness? What illness? I didn’t notice she was ill?"
He soon laughed, "I understand, another deceitful trick. I could make a hundred of these medical records, don’t think you can fool me! Where is Yolanda really?"
