Entangled with My Cousin's Fiancé -
Chapter 33: She Wants to Consort with that Pei Surname
Chapter 33: Chapter 33: She Wants to Consort with that Pei Surname
The next day, Yolanda Greenwood was in good spirits.
It turned out that when she truly let go at heart, she felt much more relaxed.
On her way to work, she messaged Cooper Coldson.
"I agree to the divorce, the money doesn’t matter, I can leave with nothing, I don’t want the villa, I’ll come back to collect my things after work tonight."
The place that carried their memories was nothing but a prison to her alone.
"Draft the agreement and take it directly to the Civil Affairs Office, I’ll sign it and we can proceed with the formalities."
Her words were full of impatience.
When Cooper Coldson saw the message, he felt like his chest was about to explode.
This woman spent one night out and now she’s so eager to end this marriage?
What about love? What about guilt? All bullshit!
Once Yolanda arrived at the company, she heard two big pieces of news.
First, Melissa Greenwood would be temporarily managing their team until finding a suitable project manager;
Second, the annual big show of Baruy was scheduled for one month later.
Although the first piece of news was somewhat depressing, the second caused quite the excitement.
"Yolanda," Sophie Taylor was excited all morning, "our company’s big show will invite many domestic and international brands, and some influential VIPs."
She was full of anticipation, "If we can excel at the big show, there might be opportunities to collaborate with these brands, even luxury ones."
Yolanda nodded thoughtfully.
"Yolanda, this is a once-in-a-century opportunity in our field, and only available at Baruy."
Yolanda recalled Jenny Reyes; she knew this was why Jenny had insisted she stay at Baruy.
During the morning meeting, Melissa Greenwood appeared.
"Everyone is aware of the annual show, right? I want every single one of you to bring out your true abilities."
Her gaze swept past Yolanda’s face.
"This time at the big show, from our company’s four painter teams, only two members per team can participate."
"What? Why?"
There was an immediate outpour of discontent.
"Isn’t it usually everyone gets to participate?"
Melissa cleared her throat, "This year, Baruy is focusing on a high-end, boutique approach—exclusive and rare, understand?"
"Who from our team will participate then? No one wants to miss this chance."
Sophie Taylor asked proactively.
Melissa looked over, "Don’t worry, everyone will have a chance. In one week, everyone needs to produce four sample drafts, and the best drafts will determine who goes."
Everyone glanced at each other, knowing they had no choice but to accept.
"Alright, get to work. This period will be a challenge for everyone as we have a lot of orders, and you’ll need to find time for the big show preparations."
Ten minutes after Melissa left, her secretary brought over a heap of documents, three-quarters of which ended up on Yolanda’s desk.
"This is everyone’s workload for the coming week, good luck!"
She looked gleefully at Yolanda.
"Director Greenwood said the big show is important, but anyone who loses an order during this period will be disqualified from participating."
After the secretary left, Sophie Taylor and others sympathetically surrounded Yolanda’s desk.
"Yolanda, you’re really on fire, your orders for this week are more than I get in a month."
"With all these orders, where’s the time to prepare for the big show?"
"Director Greenwood’s really being unreasonable."
Yolanda helplessly tugged at the corner of her mouth.
A pawn has no choice but to obey.
After offering her some comforting words, everyone went back to their tasks.
For the next week, Yolanda’s life was completely occupied with work, day and night.
She didn’t even have time to stay at Lola Gold’s place and ended up booking a room at the Bright Courtyard Hotel nearby.
Naturally, she also didn’t have time to go back to the villa to get her things.
Three days later, Cooper, finding that Yolanda was seemingly content to this extent, was absolutely furious.
He instructed Jasmine King to call Yolanda immediately.
"Sir," Jasmine had naturally made the call, "the madam said she’s been a bit busy recently, and she’ll come by when she has the time."
"Busy?" Cooper sneered, "When has she ever been this busy before? Call her now and tell her to come and get her stuff immediately."
"..."
Jasmine hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded, "Okay."
She dialed the number.
"Put it on speaker!" Cooper demanded emotionlessly.
Jasmine turned on the speaker.
After a while, Yolanda answered, "Hello? Aunt Jasmine, what’s up?"
Jasmine looked at Cooper and seeing he didn’t speak, she had to speak up herself.
"Madam, sir is asking if you have time to come and pick up your luggage tonight?"
Yolanda frowned in annoyance.
Cooper didn’t even come home, yet he cared whether she picked up her luggage?
Her tone was quite bad, "Not tonight, maybe some other time."
Jasmine sneaked a glance at Cooper.
"It has to be tonight, or it will be thrown out," Cooper said coldly.
Yolanda was startled, realizing that it was Cooper forcing Jasmine to make this call, and she couldn’t help but laugh and cry.
This man was sometimes truly incomprehensible.
"Not tonight." She genuinely had no time.
"Then throw it out now," Cooper pressed further.
Yolanda clenched her teeth, unwilling to converse with this jerk.
"Aunt Jasmine?"
"I’m here, madam!"
"Later, I’ll send you an address, can you have someone drive my stuff over?"
Yolanda initially thought of sending her things to Lola’s, but considering she might not return for half a month, she changed her mind.
"Never mind, just send it directly to the Bright Courtyard Hotel, I’ll send you the room number in a moment."
"You’re staying at the hotel?"
Cooper suddenly interjected.
"Yes."
Yolanda hurried to hang up.
"You didn’t stay at your friend’s house?"
Cooper bizarrely asked again, as if trying to confirm something.
"It’s not convenient!"
Yolanda was too lazy to deal with him and thanked Jasmine, "Aunt Jasmine, thank you for the trouble, I need to get back to work now."
Inconvenient!!!
Really, she had to mix with someone named Mr. Pei, how convenient would it be to stay at a friend’s place?
Cooper scoffed mockingly, "Can Mr. Pei not afford a house?"
"What does it have to do with you?"
Where did that even come from?
Yolanda thought Cooper was becoming more and more strange.
She really didn’t want to waste more time, "Aunt Jasmine, thank you, I need to go."
Yolanda hung up.
Busy with what?
Busy cooking for Mr. Pei or busy sleeping with him...
Cooper soon realized, either of those activities, he couldn’t accept.
They weren’t even divorced yet, he hadn’t been with anyone apart from her, how could she be so blatant?
Is this not adultery within marriage? No wonder she accepted leaving with nothing.
Now, neither his money nor he himself held any attraction for her, did they?
Jasmine watched as Cooper’s face grew increasingly ugly, and she shakily put away her phone.
"Sir, the madam sent the room number, I’ll find a car to send the items right now."
"Don’t bother!" Cooper stood up, "I’ll go myself!"
