Chapter 321: Chapter 321: You Lost the Two People Who Loved You Most

After Jaxon Greenwood went missing once, Yolanda Greenwood and the others became extra cautious, especially Lola Gold.

"Yolanda, I swear, I’ll never let Uncle Greenwood out of my sight again."

Yolanda couldn’t help but smile through her tears. "Alright, shut the door tight. He won’t be able to leave. I’ll be back soon."

Since Jaxon Greenwood kept mumbling about finding Gemma Morgan, Yolanda Greenwood planned to go to the Greenwood Family estate to fetch some photos of Gemma. She had already called Melissa Greenwood about it.

When she arrived at the estate, she saw Little May waiting for her from afar.

"Aunt Yolanda!" Little May ran toward her as soon as she saw her. "Aunt Yolanda, you’re here."

Yolanda hugged Little May lightly. "Hmm, you’ve gained some weight, grown taller, and are becoming prettier."

"Aunt Yolanda is becoming prettier too!" The little girl’s sweet words melted hearts.

Yolanda took her hand and entered the villa, where Melissa Greenwood waited in the living room.

"The stuff is upstairs, probably in their bedroom," Melissa said as she stood up and approached. "I’ll take you up to find it."

"Thank you." Yolanda told Little May to play on her own, then followed Melissa upstairs.

The master bedroom on the second floor was spacious and seemed untouched, though it was layered with dust. Melissa hadn’t let anyone clean it.

"You can go in and look for it yourself," Melissa leaned against the doorframe, showing no intention of going in.

Yolanda nodded. The photo album wasn’t particularly valuable, so she found it quickly.

"Do you want to take a look?" Yolanda suddenly suggested to Melissa as they headed downstairs. "If I take it away, you won’t be able to see it again."

"What’s there to see?" Melissa folded her arms, her face full of disdain, but her eyes noticeably glanced at the album.

Yolanda thought for a moment and then said, "Let’s look at it together."

In the living room, Little May went outside to play. Yolanda laid the album on the coffee table and began flipping through it page by page, with Melissa standing next to her.

The Greenwood Family kept the album meticulously; the photos were in pristine condition. Most of the images depicted the family of three, with a few solo photos of Melissa Greenwood.

From Melissa’s birth to learning to walk, attending kindergarten... all the way until adulthood—there were photos from every stage and lots of them.

Yolanda glanced at Melissa. "I’ll take out your solo photos for you to keep."

"Suit yourself." Melissa turned her head and sat down nearby.

Yolanda took out Melissa’s baby picture and accidentally turned it over, noticing words written on the back. She handed it to Melissa after taking a quick look.

"What?" Melissa grumbled impatiently.

"There’s writing on the back. Look at it," Yolanda pushed the photo toward her.

"What nonsense!" Melissa reluctantly took the photo, flipped it over, and read the text: "Welcome to our home, little princess. Your mom and dad will give you all their love. Wishing you health and happiness forever. Also, thank you, dear wife, for your efforts today." The date was the day Melissa was born and written in Jaxon Greenwood’s handwriting.

She looked at those words several times, momentarily speechless.

"Every single one has writing." Yolanda handed her the thick pile of pictures.

Melissa didn’t take them. When she finally spoke, her voice quivered slightly, "That old man was truly ridiculous. How did I not know he had so much free time?"

"It’s not about free time; it’s about how much love they had for you." Yolanda closed the album. "Haven’t you ever regretted it?"

"Regret what?" Melissa stood up, letting out a cold laugh. "Now that the Greenwood Group is mine, and I’m about to marry Cooper Coldson, what is there for me to regret?"

"If Gemma Morgan hadn’t died and Jaxon Greenwood hadn’t had his incident, you’d still be their precious darling." Yolanda stood up too, staring into Melissa’s eyes. "Even if they discovered the truth, swapped us back, their feelings for you would remain unchanged. They’d still love you dearly."

"Melissa Greenwood, you’ve lost two people who loved you most. Are you truly unrepentant?" Yolanda’s emotions surged.

"Not one bit!" Melissa declared firmly. "Let me tell you, Yolanda Greenwood, there’s no such thing as regret in my dictionary. Take your things and leave. Don’t waste any more of my time."

Yolanda shook her head, packed the album, and said one last thing: "Take care of yourself."

She left the villa after saying goodbye to Little May. She didn’t linger for long.

Inside, Melissa sat staring at Gemma Morgan’s portrait in a daze. Little May approached cautiously. "Mom, are you thinking about your mother?"

"She’s not my mother." Melissa suddenly rushed forward, grabbed the portrait off the wall, and threw it to the floor. "I don’t miss her! I don’t!"

When Gemma Morgan was alive, the person she loved most was clearly Yolanda Greenwood. Melissa didn’t want to think about Gemma Morgan—she didn’t deserve it!

Inside the taxi, Yolanda Greenwood opened the album again. To her surprise, there were photos of her in the album—though not many, they were precious.

Eliana Reed had rarely taken pictures of Yolanda Greenwood, except for mandatory ones like her hundred-day photo, birthday photo... For ordinary, everyday photos—especially from her early childhood—there were none.

Several photos prompted Yolanda to look at them over and over again. Then, nervously, she checked one of them, discovering words written on the back.

"Little Yolanda, little angel, be happy!"

The handwriting seemed to belong to Gemma Morgan, dated on the day the photo was taken.

Yolanda Greenwood suddenly thought of a possibility. She hurriedly pulled out a photo of Jaxon Greenwood and Gemma Morgan together. Sure enough, there were words on the back. She retrieved more photos and found that every single one had writing.

Moved, she couldn’t help but compare her own upbringing to that of Jaxon Greenwood’s family—the difference was like night and day.

If Eliana Reed had never met Melissa Greenwood, if Melissa had grown up in such a loving family, perhaps she wouldn’t have turned out the way she had now.

Of course, Yolanda knew such speculations were meaningless. What had happened couldn’t be undone, and everyone was responsible for their own actions.

Back home, Yolanda had barely stepped inside when she heard Lola Gold shouting.

"Uncle Greenwood, open the door! Please!"

Yolanda put down her belongings and rushed over. "Lola, what’s wrong?"

"Yolanda, you’re finally back. Uncle Greenwood locked himself in the bathroom," Lola said, visibly anxious. "It’s been over an hour."

"How did this happen?" Yolanda nervously knocked on the door. "Dad, open this door. I’m back."

There was no response from inside.

"What do we do?" Lola glanced at the time. "Why haven’t Noah Coldson and Dr. Sterling arrived yet?"

"You called them? How long ago?" Yolanda asked hurriedly.

"Half an hour ago. They should be here any moment now."

As soon as her words fell, knocking came from the front door. "They’re here—I’ll go open the door."

Shortly after, Noah Coldson and Adam Sterling entered together.

"It’s been over an hour," Yolanda said in exasperation. "Figure out a way to get the door open."

Noah stepped forward confidently. "Stand back. I’ve got this."

He backed up several steps, then charged forward and kicked the lock open. As the door swung open, everyone’s expression changed.
