Chapter 31: Chapter 31 Does Cooper Coldson Plan to Take Action?
That day, Yolanda Greenwood drifted through in a daze.
At the end of work, Sophie Taylor patted her arm, "Yolanda, don’t be too hard on yourself."
Before Jenny Reyes left, she explained a lot for Yolanda, and people like Sophie Taylor didn’t blame her.
But the more understanding they were, the more uncomfortable Yolanda felt, feeling that she had let down Jenny Reyes.
[Yolanda, are you coming to Midnight tonight? Benjamin is buying!]
Lola Gold’s message popped up at the right time.
[Okay.]
Yolanda really needed to get smashed that night.
When she arrived at Midnight, Lola Gold had obviously made an effort to dress up.
She was naturally beautiful, with fair and tender skin, and even without makeup, she possessed an innate, radiant beauty.
Today she wore a light green T-shirt with light-colored jeans, looking every bit the eye-catching college girl.
"Lola, you look so pretty today," Yolanda managed a weak smile.
"What’s wrong, Yolanda?" Lola Gold noticed something was off right away.
Yolanda shook her head, "Nothing, let’s go in."
Seeing that Yolanda didn’t want to talk, Lola Gold didn’t press her, and they went in to find Wesley Baker.
"You guys made it?" Wesley Baker saw them first and walked over briskly.
Lola Gold nodded shyly and whispered a reminder, "Yolanda is not in a good mood."
"Let’s take a seat," Wesley Baker, the gentleman that he was, gestured protectively behind the two women, leading them to their seats.
But halfway there, they came across Cooper Coldson and Melissa Greenwood.
Remembering what had happened during the day, Yolanda felt rage bubble up at the sight of Melissa’s face.
She strode forward, grabbed a bottle of alcohol from the table, and splashed it in Melissa’s face.
"Ah ah ah..." Melissa screamed.
Cooper Coldson looked at Yolanda incredulously, "Have you lost your mind?"
Yolanda ignored him, glaring at Melissa, "You wait."
"Yolanda!" Cooper Coldson, feeling ignored, rose angrily from his seat.
Unexpectedly, Wesley Baker stepped in, pulling Yolanda behind him, "Cool it, Cooper, Yolanda is just not in a good mood today..."
"Who do you think you are?"
Seeing Wesley Baker stand between him and Yolanda, Cooper Coldson got even angrier, "Get lost!"
It looked like a fight was about to break out, but Melissa quickly grabbed hold of Cooper.
"Cooper, I’m fine, don’t get angry."
She urgently called to Yolanda, "Yolanda, take Benjamin away from here."
Yolanda knew that if a fight broke out, Wesley Baker stood no chance against Cooper.
Actually, Wesley Baker was protecting her out of consideration for Lola Gold, and for Lola’s sake, she couldn’t just do nothing.
"Let’s go, Benjamin," Yolanda tugged on Wesley Baker’s sleeve.
Wesley Baker nodded, and they all left.
Cooper’s eyes looked like they could spit fire. He saw Yolanda’s disregard for herself, her care for Wesley Baker, and it all burned in his memory.
He was furious at Yolanda’s shamelessness, resisting divorce on one hand while mingling with other men on the other, the epitome of disgrace!
After sitting down, Yolanda apologized to Wesley Baker, "Thank you for what you did just now, Benjamin."
"It’s nothing." Wesley Baker shook his head, "I just didn’t expect that if I hadn’t stopped you, was Cooper really going to hit you?"
Yolanda let out a bitter laugh.
How could it not be possible?
After all, she had made Cooper’s beloved lose face in front of so many people.
"Alright." Lola Gold shook her head at Wesley Baker, signaling him to stop, "Yolanda, what do you feel like drinking?"
"Right, let’s not talk about those jerks."
Wesley Baker passed the menu, "Order whatever you want, my treat tonight."
Yolanda was determined not to go home sober tonight, but when you really want to get drunk, it seems you just can’t get there.
"Lola, I’m really useless," she said, gripping Lola Gold’s hand. "Do you know? Because of me, Sister Reyes resigned."
Lola Gold’s face was full of concern. "Yolanda, don’t be sad. Although I don’t know the specifics, if Sister Reyes did that, it must be because she thinks you’re worth it."
Yolanda Greenwood was taken aback and felt that what Lola Gold said made a lot of sense.
What she needed to do now was not to give up and drown her sorrows in drink but to pull herself together and stand firm at Baruy.
Maybe one day, she could invite Jenny Reyes back in another capacity.
"I understand, Lola." She’d had quite a few drinks just now to get drunk, and she really needed to go to the bathroom at this point.
"Yolanda, I’ll come with you," Lola Gold immediately offered, standing up as well.
"No need. I’m not drunk."
Yolanda Greenwood gave her a look, signaling her to seize the opportunity to be alone with Wesley Baker.
Lola Gold reluctantly gave up and sat back down.
But after Yolanda Greenwood left, Wesley Baker didn’t seek her out for a conversation.
In fact, during the time Yolanda Greenwood was in seclusion preparing for the competition, they only occasionally exchanged messages and didn’t go out together.
Lola Gold faintly sensed that Wesley Baker didn’t like her.
She tentatively wanted to speak but was preempted by Wesley Baker himself.
"Lola, you sit here for a while; I’m also going to go to the bathroom."
"Oh," Lola Gold was even more convinced of her thoughts.
Yolanda Greenwood came out of the bathroom without hurrying back as she indeed wanted to give Lola Gold more chances to be alone with someone.
But unexpectedly, she saw Wesley Baker coming.
She pulled at the corner of her mouth to greet him and prepared to go back.
But she was suddenly stopped.
Wesley Baker cornered Yolanda Greenwood in the corridor, "Yolanda, divorce Cooper Coldson."
Yolanda Greenwood frowned in displeasure and took a step back to create some distance, "Senior, I need to go back."
Unexpectedly, Wesley Baker stepped forward and actually grabbed Yolanda Greenwood’s hand.
"Yolanda, don’t you understand? I like you. Divorce Cooper Coldson."
Yolanda Greenwood felt repulsed, and the hairs on her back stood on end.
She frantically pulled, trying to retrieve her hand, "Senior, let go. I don’t feel that way about you."
"How could that be? I know you like me. Is it because of Lola? Don’t worry, I will talk to her."
Yolanda Greenwood could hardly believe it. Wesley Baker knew that Lola Gold had feelings for him, but he still confessed to her?
Who was he trying to disgust?
She became so angry, "Wesley Baker, let go! If it weren’t for Lola, I wouldn’t have dined with you, let alone have drinks together."
"Don’t talk nonsense; I don’t believe you."
Unexpectedly, Wesley Baker became even more aggressive. He pressed his whole body against her, cornering Yolanda Greenwood against the wall.
In a moment of desperation, Yolanda Greenwood slapped him.
"Wesley Baker, you’re drunk. Do you know what you’re doing?"
The slap seemed to make Wesley Baker completely lose the last of his restraint, and he moved in to kiss Yolanda Greenwood.
Yolanda Greenwood was terrified.
The difference in their strength was too great; she couldn’t resist.
With the music in Midnight blasting, no one could hear her cries for help.
Yolanda Greenwood desperately pushed Wesley Baker’s face away, trying not to let him get close, but his hands began to wander inappropriately over her body.
Just when Yolanda Greenwood was in utter despair, she suddenly saw Cooper Coldson.
He was standing just a few steps away from them.
"Cooper Coldson, save me!"
Yolanda Greenwood clung onto the hope of rescue, screaming desperately.
"Cooper Coldson, help me."
