Chapter 304: Chapter 304: I Also Want to See Your Son

Cooper Coldson changed into sterile clothing, standing fully equipped in front of the incubator.

The baby in front of him was a tiny bundle, with thin little arms and legs. Its entire face was scrunched up, hardly revealing any distinct features.

The young nurse beside him softly said, "The baby really resembles you, sir. He’s bound to grow up to be a handsome man."

Cooper seemed to be awoken from a dream, murmuring, "Resembles me?"

"Yes, sir, look closely. The baby has a full forehead, a high and prominent nose bridge, and a jawline curve just like yours." The young nurse noticed his interest and elaborated even more.

Cooper frowned slightly. But the features she mentioned—he couldn’t truly tell whether the baby resembled him or not.

Most importantly, wasn’t it often said that sons resembled their mothers more? He didn’t want to bring back a miniature version of himself.

The young nurse felt the atmosphere around her grow heavier. She wasn’t sure what she had said wrong. Originally a nurse from the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, she had been hired to work here. The pay was better, and she only had to take care of one child, but she feared losing this job.

She thought for a moment and then tentatively asked, "Sir, would you like to hold the baby?"

"Can I?" From beginning to end, Cooper’s gaze never left the baby, not sparing the nurse a glance.

"Yes, just be careful. Holding him for a moment and then putting him back should be fine," the young nurse said as she reached to open the incubator.

"Forget it," Cooper interrupted coldly. "The outside is too dirty. Let’s not take him out yet. There’s no rush between him and me."

"Oh, okay." The young nurse nodded, but internally, she was puzzled: If there was no rush, why had he taken the baby out of the hospital and rushed over here to see him?

Cooper stood quietly for a while longer. As the unprecedented emotions in his heart gradually settled, he turned and left.

This small villa had been hastily arranged, specifically prepared for the child.

As he reached the door, the young nurse suddenly asked, "Sir, the baby doesn’t have a name yet. Have you decided what to call him?"

Cooper frowned. He hadn’t thought about it yet, nor did he know if Yolanda had already come up with a name for the baby ahead of time.

But since naming was a significant matter, he couldn’t decide lightly. "I’ll think about it carefully and let you know."

"Alright." The young nurse complimented again, "The young master is truly lucky to have such a loving father."

Yet hearing this, Cooper’s expression did not improve. After instructing the nurse and a few guards on some specifics, he quickly left.

On the drive, he abruptly asked Richard Reyes, "Did you send the DNA samples for testing?"

"Yes, we’ve already sent a strand of the young master’s hair along with yours," Richard replied respectfully.

Cooper nodded and then added to himself, "Though it’s really unnecessary."

Catching onto his remark, Richard immediately asked, "Do you want me to notify them to cancel the testing?"

Cooper closed his eyes, pondering for a moment before replying, "No, leave it be."

During dinner, Cooper actively sought out Melissa Greenwood and Little May.

By now, Melissa had figured out Cooper’s tendencies—whenever he made an effort to approach her, it usually meant he had done something to wrong her.

Sure enough, over dinner, Cooper said calmly, "I brought the boy out."

"Hmm?" Melissa pretended not to understand. "What do you mean?"

"The child Yolanda gave birth to—I brought the boy out," Cooper repeated.

Little May immediately asked, "Is it my baby brother?"

Cooper looked at her and smiled. "Yes, it’s your brother."

Little May lit up with excitement. "Can I play with my brother?"

"No," Cooper refused instantly.

"Oh, come on. Ever since you mentioned that May might have siblings, this little one has been going on and on about wanting to play with them," Melissa said with a chuckle. "Besides, I’d like to see him too. After all, he’s your son."

Cooper was firm. "Not yet. The baby was born prematurely and needs to stay in the incubator."

He patiently reassured Little May, "In a few days, once your brother grows a bit bigger, you can play with him, alright?"

"Okay." Little May happily took a big bite of food. "Then I’ll eat more, grow up faster, and protect my brother."

She then asked Cooper, "What about a sister? Will a sister come and live with us too?"

Melissa also waited intently for Cooper’s response.

"For now, a sister won’t join us," Cooper replied.

Melissa slowly said, "Did our brother come to you today because of this? Did you take the baby without Yolanda’s permission?"

Cooper paused mid-bite. "The baby is mine too. Her approval doesn’t matter."

"Even so, Yolanda is the mother. You can’t keep separating them forever," Melissa carefully probed.

Cooper continued eating without responding to her.

At the hospital, when Yolanda Greenwood woke up that evening, she saw Noah Coldson and Lola Gold in the room, their expressions heavy.

"Lola?" she called tentatively, struggling to sit up.

Since giving birth, Yolanda had been lying down the entire time. She already felt uncomfortable and couldn’t bear it any longer.

"Yolanda, don’t move!" Lola hurried over to press her down. "Dr. Hall said you need to stay in bed for a few more days. Otherwise, the stitches might tear."

Yolanda looked at Lola helplessly, pleading, "But I really can’t stay in bed any longer."

Noah stepped to the bedside. "I’ll raise the bed a little so you can sit up for a bit."

"Alright, thank you, big brother," Yolanda said with a bright smile, squinting happily.

Lola shook her head in exasperation. "You spoil her too much."

Noah blushed.

Yolanda, suddenly feeling a bit awkward as well, could only glare at Lola.

After a moment, Yolanda asked again, "How are the twins?"

"They’re doing great!" Lola’s face lit up with joy. "The doctors said they’re growing the fastest in the incubator."

"Really?" Yolanda’s face filled with yearning. "When can I see them? Hold them?"

"Don’t rush. Focus on your recovery first," Noah quickly advised.

Lola nodded emphatically. "Exactly. You mustn’t push it, Yolanda. If you don’t recover properly, you might not even have the strength to hold them later."

"I understand." Yolanda forced a smile, her eyes shifting between the two of them. "Why do I feel like you two are acting strange?"

"What? No!" Lola exaggeratedly denied it. Then, turning toward Adam Sterling, her expression almost crying out for help, "Am I being weird?"

Adam nudged her forehead. "Absolutely. You’re too excited and far too noisy."

He strode over and teased Yolanda, "They’re worse than you about this—they were more excited about the birth than you."

Sure enough, Yolanda no longer doubted them. She laughed lightly and said, "Alright, then. From now on, I’ll consider the two of you honorary godparents!"
