Chapter 281: Chapter 281 Colonel Sir, Stop Dilly-Dallying

Noah Coldson realized what Lola Gold meant and instantly blushed, grabbing things and running to the kitchen.

"I’ll start preparing dinner for you guys; they are mostly semi-prepared foods, so it will be quick."

Yolanda Greenwood playfully poked Lola Gold in the waist, "Don’t talk nonsense, you keep Dr. Sterling company for a while, I’ll help out."

"Did I talk nonsense?" Lola Gold asked Adam Sterling with a smile.

Adam Sterling spread his hands, "Not sure, let’s wait and see."

"Come on," Lola Gold lightly punched Adam Sterling on the shoulder, "Could you really be unsure whether or not big brother misses Yolanda?"

"I meant you," Adam Sterling looked Lola Gold up and down.

"What’s wrong with me?" Lola Gold made an exaggerated face and said cheerfully, "I’m not suffering from any lovesickness."

Adam Sterling frowned, "You don’t have to pretend to be happy. The one you can deceive has already gone to the kitchen."

"..." Lola Gold rolled her eyes at him and sat down on the couch by herself, "Psycho."

Adam Sterling sat next to her, bumping her shoulder, "Come on, what’s going on?"

"What’s going on?" Lola Gold puffed up, "Stop being paranoid, I’m perfectly fine."

"Oh really? Shouldn’t you be the one in the kitchen helping out?" Even if Adam Sterling wasn’t a psychologist, Lola Gold was behaving too unusually at this moment.

Normally, as long as Yolanda Greenwood was around, Noah Coldson and Lola Gold would always be competing to do work, and even if they couldn’t do it, they would push him into it—certainly not sitting around like now.

Lola Gold, knowing she couldn’t hide much from Adam Sterling and too tired to lie, conceded, "Alright, you’re the smart one."

She lay on the armrest playing with her phone, not wanting to talk to Adam Sterling anymore.

Adam Sterling, knowing the cues, didn’t push further, but his eyes frequently drifted towards Lola Gold’s stomach.

After all, only magic can beat magic, and only another pregnant woman can understand a pregnant one.

However, clearly, even if Lola Gold was pregnant, it hadn’t been long; nothing was visible on her stomach.

Nevertheless, during dinner, as much as Yolanda Greenwood and Lola Gold wanted to keep it a secret from the two men, it became quite unrealistic.

Less than ten minutes into dinner, Lola Gold had run to the bathroom to throw up three times.

Yolanda Greenwood was truly distressed; Lola Gold’s morning sickness was severe, and she hadn’t eaten well since the previous night.

The fifth time Lola Gold returned from the bathroom, she refused to get close to the dining room, "You guys eat, I’m not hungry, I’ll sit in the living room for a bit."

Yolanda Greenwood got up, her face full of concern.

Noah Coldson grabbed her arm and asked in a lowered voice, "What’s going on? Lola, she..."

The rest of the question was clear to all three of them.

Considering Lola Gold’s earlier hint, Yolanda Greenwood just sighed and didn’t answer, "You guys continue eating, I’ll check on her."

The two men had already stood up, unable to keep eating calmly under the circumstances.

Soon, the three of them gathered around the couch, encircling Lola Gold in the middle.

Lola Gold buried her face in a throw pillow, feeling a really awkward urge to disappear, her voice muffled, "I’m really fine, please go eat, I’m begging you."

Yolanda Greenwood looked at Noah Coldson and Adam Sterling, "You guys go eat."

She signaled emphatically with her eyes.

The two men exchanged looks and understandingly left.

Back in the dining room, Adam Sterling’s first comment was, "You Coldson men are really something; quite the strike rate."

After Noah Coldson realized what he meant, his face instantly turned red, and he couldn’t even lift his head, "Shut up!"

"Team leader, no, Colonel sir," Adam Sterling raised his eyebrow, "you can do it!"

Noah Coldson raised his chopsticks and smacked Adam Sterling’s forehead, and Sterling couldn’t dodge it.

He teared up from the pain, rubbing his forehead, "A dog bites Lu Dongbin, not recognizing the good person."

In the living room, Yolanda Greenwood slowly sat beside Lola Gold, "Alright, don’t sulk, they’ve gone to the restaurant to eat."

Lola Gold revealed her big eyes, looking pitiful, "They definitely noticed."

"..." Yolanda had nothing to say, Lola’s state was probably only invisible to the blind.

"Alright, they’re not the type to gossip, they won’t talk randomly." She gently patted Lola’s back, "Still feeling bad? Really can’t eat?"

Lola quickly shook her head, "I’d rather starve than go there."

She pushed Yolanda away, "Alright, stop worrying about me, go and eat, don’t starve the two little treasures."

"Okay, I’m going." Yolanda stood up, looked at Lola for a while, "Continuing like this isn’t a solution. Big brother bought a lot of fruits, I’ll take a few for you to see if that works?"

Lola was indeed very hungry, she nodded, "That would be great, thanks."

"Cut it out. Just eat your meal, and you won’t need to trouble me." Yolanda turned and went to the kitchen, washed the fruit, cut them, and brought them to the living room, "Eat some for now, to fill the gap."

"Yeah, don’t worry about me, go eat, it’ll get cold." Lola obediently ate the fruit in the living room.

Yolanda returned to the dining room.

Noah Coldson immediately asked her, "How is it? Is Lola only eating fruit?"

"She probably can’t eat the meals, I’ll order some cake or something, see if she can eat that." Yolanda said as she picked up her phone to order takeaway for Lola.

"Alright, I’ll order, you eat first, otherwise it’ll get cold and won’t taste good." Noah tenderly took the phone from her.

Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth and could only obediently eat her meal.

After they had finished eating, the takeaway had also arrived, and surprisingly, Lola could eat it, which provided Yolanda some temporary relief.

In the living room, as Lola ate the cake, she watched Noah and Adam. She always felt something strange about the two of them.

Adam occasionally, nonchalantly hit Noah’s arm, or accidentally kicked his foot, but Noah didn’t react at all.

Ordinarily, the only person who could bully Noah like that was Yolanda.

Lola whispered to Yolanda, "Yolanda, what’s up with them?"

"What’s up?" Yolanda asked, puzzled, her attention was on the TV, she hadn’t noticed anything.

"Those two are definitely up to something," Lola firmly insisted.

She rotated her eyeballs, glanced at the wall clock and said, "Oh dear, it’s getting late, big brother, Dr. Sterling, isn’t it time for you to head back?"

Noah almost jumped up in shock, his whole body seeming very tense.

Seeing this, Yolanda quickly tugged at Lola and asked in a lowered voice, "What are you doing? There’s nothing to worry about if they want to stay a bit longer, it’s not even nine yet."

Adam still sat on the couch, seemingly certain that Noah wouldn’t leave at this time.

Ignoring Yolanda, Lola continued to Noah, "Big brother, you must be tired from the flight today, you should head back and rest early."

Noah’s eyes struggled as he looked towards Yolanda.

Adam couldn’t watch anymore, he stood up and loudly said, "Colonel sir, stop dawdling."

At that moment, Yolanda distinctly felt her heart lift.

Her gaze met Noah’s in mid-air, and in an instant, she seemed to guess what Noah was about to say.
