Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Will You Hate Cooper Coldson?
"Don’t panic yet," Yolanda Greenwood comforted Lola Gold as she helped her sit on the sofa, "How are you feeling right now?"
Lola shook her head, "I can’t explain it, my mind is all foggy..."
She grabbed Yolanda’s hand tightly, "What should I do? If I really am pregnant... Yolanda, I’m a bit scared."
"Don’t rush, just calm down." Yolanda understood Lola’s emotions.
Lola had already firmly decided to end things with Christopher Coldson, but if she found out she was pregnant now, it would really be hard to choose.
She took out her phone, "I’ll buy a couple of pregnancy tests for you, let’s test and see."
"Okay." Lola let out a long sigh of relief, sitting there helplessly.
After Yolanda completed the purchase on her phone, she asked, "Do you want to eat something? You haven’t eaten anything all day, right?"
"No!" The very mention of food seemed to trigger Lola’s stomach, and she immediately headed for the bathroom.
Once again, she locked the door and vomited calamitously, leaving herself utterly drained.
"Lola?" Yolanda called out worriedly from outside, "How are you feeling?"
"I’m alright, Yolanda, don’t worry about me. Go eat something, I’ll just stay here for a while." Lola’s eyes unconsciously reddened a bit, overwhelmed by an indefinable sense of grievance.
She couldn’t understand why she had to endure all this, and how much longer would the pain Christopher Coldson inflicted upon her last?
Yolanda thought for a moment before responding, "Alright, I’ll make you some light salt water, come out and drink it later."
At this moment, she was very hungry; after all, she was carrying two babies inside her. She could starve herself, but she couldn’t neglect them.
She ate a few bites and then heard Lola come out.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door, evidently, the pregnancy tests were delivered.
"Yolanda, continue eating, I’ll get the door." Lola gulped down the salt water and opened the door, indeed it was the delivery guy who had arrived.
"Miss, your order." The delivery guy handed Lola the bag and hurriedly left.
Lola returned to the room, took out the pregnancy tests, and sat in the living room, feeling very resistant.
After Yolanda finished her meal, she saw Lola sitting with the pregnancy tests and gently suggested, "Go test it, or else you won’t be able to sleep tonight."
She knew Lola’s personality well; if things were left unresolved, she would be unable to focus on anything.
"Okay." Lola took a deep breath and entered the bathroom.
Yolanda was also restless in the living room, silently praying that it was a false alarm and that Lola wasn’t pregnant at this time.
About fifteen minutes passed, and Lola still hadn’t come out, but Yolanda’s phone chimed, clearly the sound of a WeChat notification.
Yolanda checked her phone; it was a photo sent by Lola.
In the photo, the second line on the pregnancy test was faintly visible.
Yolanda immediately felt a sense of helplessness overwhelming her, thinking about herself and why such things would happen to both her and Lola.
She really did not understand what fate had in mind.
With a heavy sigh, she wiped away the tears that had unknowingly fallen before knocking on the bathroom door again.
"Lola, listen to me, sometimes these things can be inaccurate, let’s go to the hospital tomorrow?"
There was no response from inside.
Yolanda felt extremely anguished, but now, she was all Lola had.
She knocked again, "Lola, come out, talk to me, brooding over it alone won’t help."
Still no response from inside.
Yolanda’s tears uncontrollably began to flow again, the more she understood Lola, the more clearly she felt Lola’s breakdown.
But she truly couldn’t help with anything now.
She silently stood by the door, wiping away tears the moment they fell, fearful that Lola might suddenly open the door and see.
Another fifteen minutes passed, and Lola finally opened the door.
"Lola?" Yolanda looked at her with concern, "Are you okay?"
Lola shook her head, "I’m fine, it’s just a child, if I am really pregnant, I’ll just get an abortion."
"Lola!"
To abort a child, especially from someone she had once deeply loved, how could it be as simple as Lola made it sound?
In the end, both her body and soul would suffer irreversible damage.
"I’m really fine now." Lola had regained her strong demeanor.
Yolanda knew that comforting her now was futile, "Tomorrow afternoon, how about I go with you to the hospital?"
In the morning, she had to attend her court hearing for the divorce case with Cooper Coldson, she had to be there.
"Okay." Lola was aware of the court hearing and managed a wry smile, "In the morning, I’ll accompany you to the court."
"Okay." At this point, Yolanda didn’t refuse; she didn’t feel reassured leaving Lola alone.
That evening, the two of them, exceptionally, slept together, marking the first time since Yolanda returned to the country.
During the later stages of pregnancy, Yolanda’s belly was very large, and she could only lie on her side, facing Lola’s direction.
Lola also lay on her side, her hand gently resting on Yolanda’s stomach, "It must be tough, right?"
"Yes, tougher than I imagined." Yolanda pulled a wry smile, daily activities, going to the restroom... everything was uncomfortable, she always felt clumsy, and the slightest movement could make her break into a sweat.
"That’s why I say, women are incredible, and mothers are even more so," Lola said thoughtfully, "Especially since you’re alone now, without the father’s care and concern, it must be much harder."
She looked up at Yolanda, "Yolanda, would you hate Cooper? If you could turn back time, would you still keep the children?"
"Hate him?" Yolanda occasionally asked herself this as well.
From the moment she fell in love with Cooper, to now struggling alone with his children, she couldn’t say she had never hated him.
But now, what she felt most was relief, just hoping to safely deliver the babies and have no further entanglements with Cooper.
She sniffled, looking back at Lola, "Both hatred and love take a lot of energy, and now... I’m truly tired, as long as the babies are born, everything will be in the past."
"But..." Yolanda lovingly looked at her protruding belly, "Although I haven’t met the two little ones yet, I have no regrets. If I could turn back time, I would still keep them."
Lola opened her mouth, but some words were better left unspoken.
She always felt that Yolanda still harbored feelings for Cooper deep inside, yet such words were clearly inappropriate now.
"Tomorrow Noah Coldson will be back, right?" Lola said with a smile, "When big brother comes back, it’s like the children’s father is back, no, not just that, it seems he has also taken you as his daughter."
"Don’t be silly." Yolanda looked helpless.
"It’s true," Lola nudged Yolanda’s head gently, "he takes care of everything, no detail too small, not even a real dad could compare."
"I warn you, you must cherish it!"
