Chapter 234 The Drug Dealer is the Man Downstairs from Yolanda

Chapter 234: Chapter 234 The Drug Dealer is the Man Downstairs from Yolanda

Adam Sterling’s reminder made Yolanda Greenwood think of someone, but she didn’t say it. She was only speculating.

Adam Sterling then enjoined some matters before leaving.

Yolanda called Leah Diaz out and asked her in a low voice, "Sister Leah, do you think... the man downstairs could possibly be using drugs?"

"Using drugs?" Leah didn’t think it likely, "He’s so poor already, how could he afford it?"

"..." Yolanda gave a wry smile, "True."

She then felt that the man was probably just purely destitute. After all, she had never seen him having a drug fit, nor had Little May ever mentioned a word about it.

After returning to her room, Yolanda sent a message to Noah Coldson.

[Dr. Sterling mentioned you got hurt on a mission, are you all right?]

Noah’s reply was almost instant, [I’m fine, why tell you such trivial stuff, this guy is really annoying.]

Yolanda smiled helplessly. Did Noah only consider it serious if he ended up with a broken arm or a missing leg?

Soon, Noah sent another message, [Don’t worry about tonight’s business, Adam has already contacted the local station, and they will ensure your safety.]

[Okay, thank you, Brother, for all your trouble.]

[Just be very careful yourself and contact Adam immediately if you spot anything suspicious, understand?]

[I know.]

[Mhm.] Noah seemed reluctant to end the conversation but knew he couldn’t chat too late, [Go to sleep early then, get some good rest.]

[Brother Noah, good night!]

[Good night!]

After putting down the phone, the curl of Noah’s lips did not subside.

When Adam Sterling came back after washing up and saw him smiling like it didn’t cost anything, he knew it must’ve been Yolanda who contacted him.

He shook his head, unable to resist teasing, "Love indeed is the best cure, it’s practically miraculous."

"Cut it out." Noah glared at him, then added a thanks.

He knew it must’ve been something Adam said that prompted Yolanda to ask about him. Even though he knew it was so, he felt happy.

"Couldn’t get anything out of those two guys?" Thinking of Yolanda’s safety, Noah’s face clouded over again.

After he brought those men back, he had immediately interrogated them, but after two hours, they had almost said everything except for any useful information.

In fact, he had a vague hunch by then.

Sure enough, after Adam returned and questioned them for another hour, it still led nowhere.

"They really don’t know anything," Adam sighed lightly, "The organizations here are more advanced than ours, and we don’t have any information, continuing would be a waste of time."

Noah asked him, "Do you think it could be related to the drug dealers we’re after?"

Noah had also considered this possibility.

"Might it?" Adam was uncertain. After Noah arrived, he hadn’t had direct contact with Yolanda, and his existence shouldn’t have incurred such huge animosity.

"I don’t know." Noah inhaled deeply, "I hope everything goes well tomorrow, that we take down their nest quickly, and we can all rest easy."

"Mhm." Adam lay down on the adjacent bed, then gave one last instruction, "Be careful with everything tomorrow, remember, we’re in the M country, here by someone’s request, don’t be too reckless."

"I know, I know, stop nagging." Noah’s voice was clearly impatient.

Adam exhaled softly. He hadn’t been this worried before, but after tonight’s events, with Noah’s evident anger, things were truly unpredictable for tomorrow.

"Maybe I should go with you tomorrow." He was still uneasy.

"Stop right there!" Noah immediately rejected the idea, "Remember your role, doctor, stay in the camp and wait for my good news."

The next day, Noah and his team set off early, but they didn’t return until three or four in the afternoon.

Noah had indeed been wounded, a bullet piercing his left shoulder, his body covered in blood, a sight that frightened everyone who accompanied him.

The team had caught more than a dozen people.

Adam waited at the entrance of the camp and when he finally saw the people return alive, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Everyone passing by him gave him a thumbs-up, praising Noah as a real man, a true warrior.

Adam didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Among the captives, he spotted a familiar face, one he had seen somewhere before.

In the infirmary, he personally attended to Noah’s wound, "Are all these captives drug dealers?"

"Not all, a few are buyers, some even wanted to become middlemen, and we were lucky today—they were in the middle of a deal," Noah said with gusto.

Adam pressed down hard on his wound.

"Ouch!" Noah hissed with the pain, "Dr. Sterling, what are you doing? Trying to heal me to death?"

"Now you know it hurts?" Adam gritted his teeth.

Noah touched his nose, offering no retort, but the smile remained on his face; his mission was complete, and now he could rest easy and see Yolanda.

Adam, with the familiar man on his mind, inquired, "What’s going to happen to these guys?"

"Hand them over to the local authorities," Noah thought for a moment, "The law here is different, so other than the few major offenders, the others might get bailed out pretty soon."

Adam nodded his head, "There’s someone who seems very familiar to me, as if I’ve seen him somewhere."

"Oh?" Noah immediately became alert, "Which one? Could it be someone from Yolanda’s apartment complex?"

Adam suddenly remembered, "It’s that man from downstairs at Yolanda’s place."

Noah got up excitedly, "The man downstairs? Which one? Let’s go over now."

"Wait a second." Adam was still holding the disinfectant swab, "Let’s treat your wound first, and besides, we better not spook the quarry."

He still remembered what Yolanda had said, "Yolanda mentioned she helped this man take care of his child, and he was very grateful."

So Adam couldn’t find a reason why this man would want to harm Yolanda.

Noah sat back down; anyway, these people would definitely stay in the camp tonight, so there was no hurry.

And after hearing what Adam had to say, he too felt it was odd.

After dressing the wound, they went to the guardhouse together, where Adam showed Brooks Parker to Noah.

Noah immediately inquired with the interrogator.

"The man’s name is Brooks Parker, he brought four million tonight, for drugs, intending to use some and sell the rest," the interrogator reported.

Noah and Adam exchanged a look.

The interrogator continued, "We can’t convict him here for this. Tomorrow, he’ll be sent to the city police station and will likely get bailed out."

"Okay, thanks," Adam said, then asked, "Would it be possible for us to follow along tomorrow? We suspect he’s connected to another case."

"Of course," the people were very grateful to Noah and his team. After all, they had been trying to take down this drug ring for three or four months with no success, but Noah and his team had found them in just half a month.

The next day, while the others in the team returned to their country, Noah and Adam followed the transport to the city’s police station.

Brooks Parker quickly got in touch with someone for bail.
