Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Take Good Care of Your Mommy for Me
Noah Coldson could clearly sense the atmosphere had turned somber when he arrived.
"Did my mother say something?" he asked Yolanda Greenwood directly.
Yolanda shook her head; she couldn’t let Noah confront Isabella Ross just because of her and the child.
She had to find a way herself.
Noah let out a deep sigh, "Do you want to go to America?"
Yolanda, feeling somewhat guilty, nodded and explained, "Before, Tala had invited me to visit for a learning opportunity, but I refused then because the child was still young."
"Yeah, it’s a good opportunity; you should go." To her surprise, Noah actually agreed.
Lola Gold’s eyes widened in astonishment, "Big brother, you’re going too?"
Yolanda immediately looked at Noah anxiously; she didn’t want him to go, she didn’t want to cause him more trouble.
"Please, although my job doesn’t require me to punch in and out from nine to five, I can’t go just anywhere." Noah smiled at Yolanda reassuringly, "Don’t worry, I won’t go."
Yolanda breathed a sigh of relief.
In his heart, Noah felt a tinge of bitterness. He smiled and said, "However, you have to agree to one condition."
"What condition?" Yolanda tensed up again.
"Adam Sterling actually went to America." Noah looked at Yolanda, "You must contact him, and if there’s anything you need, tell him immediately."
"Oh, okay." Yolanda knew this was Noah’s bottom line; if she refused, he would definitely insist on accompanying her.
"That’s good." Noah stood up, preparing to leave, "Get ready these next few days; I’ll take you to the airport."
"Okay." Yolanda saw Noah out. No matter what, she wanted to protect her child; she had to be strong enough.
Going abroad, to Tala, was the best opportunity she had in front of her; she couldn’t miss it.
At the same time, Cooper Coldson also booked a ticket to America; there was a major project there that he needed to personally follow up on for a while.
"Going to America?" Melissa Greenwood frowned upon hearing the news.
Cooper nodded, "Yeah, but don’t worry, it won’t be too long; at most a month, I’ll definitely come back."
Melissa seemed deeply troubled, "Then what about your divorce papers with Yolanda..."
"Don’t worry, I’ll come back and get them," Cooper assured her confidently.
Melissa nodded but still looked unhappy, "Do you really have to go? The Coldson Group is already doing so well; even with a big project, you don’t have to personally go, right?"
Cooper frowned; he rarely saw Melissa be so unreasonable.
He patiently explained, "Melissa, although the company is big, our partners are still our clients; we must show the proper respect."
"Okay." After much contemplation, Melissa made up her mind, "Cooper, then I’m coming with you."
"Really?" Cooper was surprised and somewhat resistant, "You don’t need to; I’ll be back very soon, and then we can have our wedding."
"Cooper, let me go," Melissa pleaded, hugging Cooper’s arm, "I was in a bad mood back then and met many good friends in America; it’ll be a good opportunity to see them."
In the end, Cooper nodded, "Fine, we’ll go together."
Three days later, Yolanda arrived at the airport with Noah and Lola Gold sending her off.
Lola’s eyes were red as she hugged Yolanda, refusing to let go, "Yolanda, maybe you shouldn’t go; I can’t bear to lose you."
"Silly girl, I’m not gone for good; just wait patiently for me; I’ll bring you back perfume," Yolanda patted Lola’s back.
"Perfume isn’t as sweet as you." Lola was still a bit down, "You have to video call me often, no matter how busy, you can’t forget about me."
"Okay." Yolanda promised, laughing and crying.
Lola then bent down, gently patting Yolanda’s abdomen, "And you two, behave, okay? Take good care of your mommy for me."
"Okay, I promise on their behalf." Yolanda was genuinely amused.
She turned her head to Noah, "Big brother, I should go in now. Take care of yourself. These past days, thank you so much."
"Go, stay safe, and call Adam once you land." Noah didn’t seem to show much reluctance.
The two watched as Yolanda passed through security and disappeared from view.
Lola, curious, looked at Noah’s expression, "Are you really not going?"
"I still have a mission." Noah checked the time, "Lola, drive carefully on your way back; I’m heading back to base."
"Oh, okay." Lola sensed something was off, and as Noah hurried away, she yelled after him, "Stay safe!"
Even though Noah hadn’t shared exactly what they did, both she and Yolanda were aware that their missions were often a matter of life and death.
After about fourteen hours, the plane finally landed.
Yolanda felt sore all over; she had already informed Tala that she would rest for a day before going to their headquarters.
Her luggage was light; exiting security, she finally turned on her phone and was flooded with messages.
Most were from Lola, asking her if she’d arrived and how things were.
She replied briefly but noticed that Noah had only sent one message, shortly after she’d boarded the plane.
She found it a little odd but didn’t think much of it.
She was about to put away her phone when it rang; it was Adam calling.
"Yolanda? Are you out?"
"Huh?" Yolanda didn’t quite understand.
Adam chuckled softly, "I’m outside the airport, just got here; are you out?"
"You came to pick me up?" Yolanda was both touched and surprised, "I’ll be right out, but you really didn’t have to; I booked a hotel myself."
"I had to come in person, otherwise someone wouldn’t be reassured." After getting in the car, Adam couldn’t help but tease.
Yolanda stared at Adam in astonishment; today, he was actually wearing his military uniform.
Normally, the guy was in a white lab coat with gold-rimmed glasses, looking like an amiable gentleman. But now, in his uniform and without glasses, he had an indescribable... ascetic appeal? In any case, completely different from before.
Adam, noticing Yolanda’s gaze, chuckled softly, "Came straight from base, didn’t have time to change clothes; don’t mind it."
No wonder Adam hadn’t waited inside the airport; he must have arrived early, but this outfit probably wasn’t suitable for public spaces.
"Really, you’ve gone to so much trouble." Yolanda smiled, "I’ll treat you to a meal when I get back."
Adam glanced at her, "Back home? That’s hardly sincere. Treat me here; I haven’t really had a chance to enjoy a big meal here yet."
Yolanda shook her head, "I can’t, no money."
The two of them laughed.
Adam drove Yolanda straight to the hotel, "This is the place, right?"
"Yes." Yolanda nodded, pointing across the street, "Tala is over there; I’ll just head over tomorrow."
She got out of the car, reminding Adam to be careful on his way back.
"Sure, call me if anything comes up," Adam clearly worried, "I’ve been so idle at base I’m practically growing hair; don’t ever think you’re bothering me."
"Okay, I got it." Yolanda watched as Adam’s car drove away before heading upstairs to rest.
