Chapter 214 Honestly, the child is mine, Cooper Coldson’s, right?

Chapter 214: Chapter 214 Honestly, the child is mine, Cooper Coldson’s, right?

Yolanda Greenwood sat in the seat next to the car door, trying her best to maintain a distance from Cooper Coldson.

Cooper naturally noticed and frowned but didn’t say anything.

"Didn’t you have something to say?" Yolanda, seeing he didn’t speak up, took the initiative to ask.

Cooper raised an eyebrow at her, "What? Are you in a hurry?"

Yolanda turned and was ready to get out of the car, "If there’s nothing, I’ll go first..."

She was holding the handle and hadn’t yet opened the door when Cooper stood up and took hold of her hand, stopping her.

The already spacious area felt instantly cramped because of Cooper’s near encirclement.

Yolanda, uncomfortable with such closeness, leaned back heavily and looked at him warily, "What exactly do you want to say?"

Cooper looked down at her.

At such a close distance, the dim light cast on Yolanda’s face highlighted the rejection in her eyes.

Her unique scent relentlessly invaded Cooper’s breath, causing his long-stilled heart to flutter and speed up.

Why did this happen?

Cooper let go of her hand and sat back, defeated.

Yolanda breathed a sigh of relief, still unsettled as she stared at him.

"Is the child really Noah’s?" Cooper asked, looking down, his voice deep.

Yolanda’s heart jumped in her chest. She swallowed before whispering softly, "Yes."

"When did it happen?"

Yolanda didn’t understand.

Cooper suddenly looked up, his eyes slightly red, "I’m asking you, when did you sleep together? Which night?"

Yolanda was startled by his question and vaguely answered, "I... I’ve forgotten."

"Forgotten? Or did it never happen?" Cooper’s suspicion hadn’t abated since the night before.

He had pondered all night, feeling that neither Noah nor Yolanda were the kind of people to do such a thing.

He thought there might be a possibility that they were deceiving him.

Yolanda averted her gaze, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about. How could anyone lie about such a thing?"

"Impossible?" Cooper countered, "You can’t even mention a time or place, did this really happen?"

He stretched out his hand, held Yolanda’s chin, and forced her to look at him, "Yolanda, tell the truth, is the child mine?"

In an instant, Yolanda was sweating profusely.

She forcefully knocked Cooper’s hand away and blurted out, "Cooper, are you out of your mind? What makes you think you’re the father?"

"Can’t you accept that I’ve fallen in love with Noah and not with you anymore? Is that so hard?"

Cooper squeezed out a few words between clenched teeth, "Yolanda, you better know what you’re saying."

"Of course I know, the one not being rational right now is you." Yolanda scoffed, "Cooper, listen clearly, the child in my belly is Noah’s, if it were yours, I would have aborted it a long time ago."

With a slap, Cooper struck her.

He felt infuriated, feeling all his blood rush to his head.

How dare she insult him like this? Did she think he’d care for the child?

Gritting his teeth, Cooper warned, "Yolanda, listen carefully, this child better not be mine, otherwise..."

He stretched out his hand and opened the car door for her before staring angrily into her eyes, "otherwise, I wouldn’t mind having them removed and thrown away."

Yolanda bit her lip hard and got out of the car.

The car door slammed shut.

Richard Reyes, standing in front of the car, hesitated for a second before quickly getting in.

He started the car, his peripheral view catching Yolanda outside.

"Aren’t you driving yet? Are you waiting to die?" Cooper roared inside the car.

"Yes." Richard withdrew his gaze and hurriedly drove off.

From the rearview mirror, he could see Yolanda still standing on the sidewalk; her clothes were not many, making her look rather helpless.

Cooper took out his phone and quickly dialed Noah Coldson.

"Hello?"

"Your woman just came out from the old house, she’s about to freeze to death!" After saying this, he hung up.

It took a moment for Noah to understand that Cooper was talking about Yolanda, and he rushed to the old house in his car.

Indeed, he found Yolanda on the side of the road.

Yolanda got into the car, and the two of them left together.

At an intersection, Noah noticed a car parked on the side of another road — it was Cooper’s!

Seeing Yolanda being picked up, Cooper, exhausted, closed his eyes, "Let’s go back to the office."

"Yolanda?" Noah noticed Yolanda’s preoccupied look, "You... saw Cooper?"

"Yes, I went to see grandfather and ran into him." Yolanda kept looking out the window, increasingly frightened by what Cooper had said.

Indeed, Cooper had always said he didn’t like children; she must never let Cooper find out the truth.

Noah found it strange, "Why didn’t you call me to join you in visiting grandfather?"

"I can manage on my own." Yolanda was listless, not in the mood to talk.

Noah didn’t press further, softly suggesting, "Take a nap then; I’ll wake you when we arrive."

"Okay." Yolanda closed her eyes.

After arriving, she thanked Noah and got out of the car, but didn’t get far before Noah grabbed her wrist.

"Hmm?" She turned to look toward Noah’s hand.

Noah quickly let go, his face embarrassingly red, "Phone, you left your phone behind."

"Oh, thank you, brother." Yolanda took back her phone.

"Yolanda, did something happen at the old house?" Noah asked worriedly, "You seemed distracted all the way."

"Nothing." Yolanda shook her head, "I’m going upstairs."

Noah nodded and watched as Yolanda left, then went straight back to the Coldson house to meet with Isabella Ross.

Isabella told him about Yolanda planning to flee the country.

"She’s leaving the country?" Noah was surprised; no one had mentioned it to him.

Isabella laughed angrily, "So, she didn’t even tell you? Planning to say goodbye to the old man and then just leave?"

Noah felt regret, wondering if he had frightened her.

"No, I must find her." He couldn’t let Yolanda go abroad alone; she needed someone to look after her.

"Hold on!" Isabella scolded him, "What are you going to do? Beg her to stay with you tearfully? I see that she has no conscience at all, only enjoying your concern but wanting no relationship with you."

"Was marrying her just your wishful thinking?" she finally asked.

Noah didn’t respond; of course, it had been his wishful thinking, but even so, he was willing.

He continued walking out.

"Noah, you come back here!" Isabella called after him, "Don’t behave as if you’re worthless; you’re a Coldson, can’t you have any woman you want?"

"My matters are none of your business." Noah didn’t turn back.

On his way, he called Lola Gold to confirm the situation.

"Okay, I’ll be right there."

After hanging up, Lola shrugged at Yolanda, "Brother still found out."

Yolanda wasn’t surprised.

If Isabella knew, Noah was bound to find out.

Now she just didn’t know what to do.

What could she do to protect her child?
