Chapter 205: Isn’t This Forcing Someone to Their Death?

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Isn’t This Forcing Someone to Their Death?

As Noah was about to start the car, he saw Cooper chasing up to him.

"Open the door!" Cooper knocked on the car window from outside.

Noah frowned but quickly unlocked the door. As he started the car, he asked Cooper who got in, "Are you sure you want to go?"

"Drive fast!" All Cooper knew was that Yolanda was in danger, and he had to go.

After turning on the siren, the car raced towards the hospital, arriving in just over ten minutes.

At that moment, the floor where Yolanda’s room was located was in chaos, most patients had been evacuated, and the hospital had called the police.

Someone saw Noah and the others arrive and immediately approached them, asking, "Are you police officers? There’s someone upstairs with a gun, it’s very dangerous."

Noah showed his ID briefly and then immediately headed upstairs, Cooper following closely behind.

Both their expressions were grave, sweat beading their foreheads, and their eyes were frightful.

"Don’t do anything stupid when we get there," Noah warned as they got out of the elevator, and then he sprinted towards the patient’s room.

By the time they reached the door of the room, they saw Adam Sterling with an injured arm, and the gun-wielding man in black had already been taken down.

Yolanda was crouching next to Adam, her voice breaking with sobs, "Dr. Sterling, I’ll help you out now."

However, just as she helped Adam up, the man in black behind her instantly drew a folding knife and stabbed at her back.

In the blink of an eye, Noah didn’t hesitate. He dashed forward, pulling Yolanda away in a different direction.

The folding knife plunged into his back, and blood poured out instantly.

"Aaaaah..." Yolanda was terrified.

Seeing this, Adam also reacted incredibly fast. Enduring the agony, he snatched the folding knife from the man in black and almost instantly plunged it into the attacker’s heart.

The man in black knelt on the ground, unable to stand, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at the people in front of him, and he quickly stopped breathing.

"Big brother, how are you?" Yolanda cradled Noah’s body, "Big brother, why did you do something so foolish?"

Everything happened too quickly; Noah and Adam were both former military personnel, while an unprofessional like Cooper didn’t even have the chance to react.

He looked at Noah, covered in blood, his face equally pale with fear.

"What are you doing standing there?" Adam yelled at him, "Go get a doctor."

Cooper gave one last look, saw Yolanda holding Noah in her arms, tears streaming down her face, didn’t say a word, and immediately turned to find a doctor.

"Big brother? The doctor will be here soon, please don’t scare me, okay?" Yolanda couldn’t stop her tears.

"Cough, cough..." Noah finally regained a bit of consciousness. He struggled to smile at Yolanda, "Don’t... don’t cry. I... I won’t die."

"You seem pretty confident," Adam said through clenched teeth.

Noah looked apologetically at Adam, but in that situation, he couldn’t have done anything else.

If he hadn’t taken that knife for Yolanda, both she and the child would have been in danger.

Cooper quickly returned with the doctor, and the police also arrived.

The nurses loaded Noah onto the stretcher, preparing to rush him into the emergency room. Yolanda ran alongside, clutching Noah’s hand.

"Big brother, we’ll wait outside for you. You’ll be okay, won’t you?" Her voice was trembling.

"Yeah." Noah struggled to smile again, and spoke with difficulty, "Stop crying. I won’t die."

"Shut up!" Adam followed quickly on the other side of the stretcher.

Soon, Noah was pushed into the emergency room.

Cooper’s gaze swept over Yolanda’s face and then he softly said, "Don’t worry too much, big brother... he’ll be okay."

Yolanda, pale and covered in blood, was now helplessly slumped in a chair.

After the police took away the body of the man in black, they also woke up Lola Gold, who had fainted much earlier.

During the conflict, Lola had hit her head on the table and lost consciousness.

When she came to, she immediately searched for Yolanda Greenwood.

"Lola," Yolanda opened her eyes and suddenly embraced Lola, "are you alright?"

Lola shook her head. Seeing the police summon Adam Sterling, she said at once, "I’ll go over to cooperate with the investigation."

"Lola," Yolanda gripped Lola’s hand, "that man in black...he came for me, didn’t he?"

She remembered clearly that after she and Adam Sterling had entered the hospital room, the man had been intent on killing her.

Lola hesitated for a moment before consoling, "Yolanda, don’t think too much about it, the police will figure it out."

This was an indirect admission of Yolanda’s statement, and with a nod, Yolanda let go of Lola’s hand.

She stood there, lost and listless, as if her soul had been drained.

"Yolanda," Cooper Coldson approached again, speaking softly, "don’t worry too much, everything will be alright."

Yolanda still did not look at him, her gaze unfocused as she stared ahead.

After a moment’s thought, Cooper sat down beside Yolanda, "I’ll wait with you."

Yolanda still did not react.

However, just then, Cooper’s phone rang.

He took it out to look, seeing it was a call from Isabella Ross, and hesitated before hanging up.

But the phone rang again swiftly.

She would call back as soon as he hung up, as if determined not to give up.

"Answer it." Yolanda’s weary voice rang out, still motionless against the chair.

Cooper stood up to take the call.

"Where are you?" Isabella’s voice came through urgently.

"What’s up?" Cooper asked, frowning, not intending to disclose Noah’s injury to avoid worrying Isabella.

"Melissa attempted suicide!" Isabella vented her frustration, "Cooper, how could you do this? You’ve run away from your wedding twice, aren’t you driving her to the brink of death?"

Cooper’s head buzzed, and he found himself unable to respond.

"Now she’s been taken to Gray City Hospital. Cooper, if you have a shred of feeling left for Melissa, you’d better get here fast." Isabella didn’t wait for Cooper’s response before hanging up.

Holding the phone, Cooper returned to his seat with a conflicted expression.

He stood there, frowning as he looked at Yolanda.

Clearly, Yolanda sensed his gaze, but without glancing at him, she spoke wearily, "You should go."

Cooper opened his mouth to explain but was interrupted by Yolanda.

"Thank you for today." Yolanda was truly exhausted, feeling as if she had no energy left, "I am sorry for the delay to your wedding with Melissa Greenwood, but at that time...I had no other choice."

Finally, she opened her eyes to look at Cooper, "Let me know whenever it’s convenient to proceed with the divorce, I’ll be there whenever you call."

After speaking, she closed her eyes again.

Cooper slowly exhaled, glancing toward the emergency room light, he said weakly, "If my brother wakes up, please let me know."

He had seen clearly just how much Yolanda cared for Noah.

Perhaps, he truly was superfluous now.
