Chapter 19: Chapter 19 The Person Cooper Coldson Loves is Always Me

Yolanda Greenwood left Lola Gold’s house and didn’t head to the Civil Affairs Office, but instead went to Baruy.

She stopped Melissa Greenwood at the company building entrance.

Melissa Greenwood still wore impeccable makeup and was in eight-centimeter high heels.

Upon seeing Yolanda, her expression remained calm, "Yolanda, what brings you here? Looking for Manager Reyes?"

"I’m looking for you!" Yolanda got straight to the point.

"Looking for me?" Melissa appeared slightly surprised, "Is it still about yesterday’s matter? Yolanda, I think you misunderstood..."

"It’s not about yesterday." Yolanda cut her off, "It’s about those paintings."

"I want you to admit to the Awards Committee and the company right now that you plagiarized."

The smile vanished from Melissa’s face, "Yolanda, what paintings? What plagiarism? I don’t understand what you’re talking about."

Yolanda was shocked to the point of widening her eyes; she hadn’t expected Melissa to deny everything now.

Melissa stood on the steps looking down at Yolanda.

"Yolanda, I know you want to return to the company, and I’ll try to help you, but I can’t take the blame for baseless accusations."

"Melissa Greenwood!" Yolanda was utterly astonished, "Have you no shame?"

Melissa remained composed, "Yolanda, you’re my cousin, and I have been tolerating you. If you make a scene again, don’t blame me for not being nice."

"It’s about time, I need to get back to work." She turned to leave.

"Wait!" Yolanda stopped her.

Melissa turned around, patiently looking back.

Yolanda took out her phone and dialed Cooper Coldson’s number.

"You probably don’t know that Cooper Coldson asked me to go to the Civil Affairs Office today to get a divorce; he’s already waiting there."

Melissa immediately clenched her fists, "Yolanda!"

The call connected.

"Where are you?" Cooper’s cold voice sounded.

"Cooper, I’ve changed my mind."

"What? Are you playing games with me?"

"You want to divorce me and then marry Melissa, right? Dream on, I won’t agree to the divorce. I’ll make sure you two can’t be together for the rest of your lives."

Before Cooper could curse, Yolanda hung up first.

Noticing Melissa’s face twist instantly made her feel a bit better.

This was her only weapon.

Melissa had schemed against her and hurt her; she wouldn’t let her have an easy time either.

"Yolanda," Melissa’s eyes were full of resentment, "Do you think just by not agreeing everything will be fine? I’ll tell you, Cooper loves me, and he will find a way to divorce you!"

"Whatever."

Yolanda turned and left first.

She didn’t care whom Cooper loved.

Cooper loving Melissa was his loss.

If he knew that Melissa was the scheming woman, would he still love her?

Yolanda returned to Lola Gold’s place and began packing up.

"Yolanda, what happened?"

Lola looked worried.

"It’s nothing." Yolanda forced a smile, "By the way, are you live streaming tomorrow night?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"I’d like to use your streaming room."

"Huh?" Lola became even more puzzled, "Yolanda, are you thinking of becoming a streamer?"

Yolanda clung to her arm, pleading, "Lola, just lend it to me for one night, please? I promise not to mess up."

"Of course, no problem."

Lola saw that Yolanda had packed up everything, "You’re not staying here anymore?"

"I’m going home." Yolanda added, "Back to the Coldson Family."

She grabbed her bag and headed to the door, "Today, I didn’t divorce Cooper; since I wasn’t wrong about what happened back then, I can’t just get divorced without clearing things up."

Lola guessed that would be the case, "Alright, Yolanda, I support you."

Yolanda stepped forward and hugged Lola tightly.

"Lola, thank you. These past few days have been the happiest I’ve had in a year."

"Silly girl, you can come back anytime."

When she arrived at the Coldson Family’s door, it was already dark.

The lights were on in the villa, Cooper Coldson must have returned.

Yolanda had thought she would never come back and left without taking the keys.

She walked up and rang the doorbell.

Soon, the door opened.

Melissa Greenwood appeared in the doorway, "Yolanda? What brings you here?"

Yolanda frowned unhappily and walked straight in with her bag.

"The way you ask that is interesting, cousin. This is my house, what’s the problem with me coming home?"

In the living room, Cooper sat on the couch, looking over with a slightly cold gaze.

Yolanda stopped and stared directly into Cooper’s eyes, "Since I am the lady of the house and not here, what exactly are you two up to, alone together?"

"Do you even know what you are saying, Yolanda?" Cooper asked in a deep voice.

"Did I say anything wrong? As long as we are not divorced, I am the lady of this house."

Yolanda turned to look at the pitiful Melissa.

"Cousin, it’s getting late. Please go back; we’re off to bed."

"You!" Melissa almost lost control of her emotions.

She had known Yolanda for over twenty years and this was the first time Yolanda had ever spoken to her like this.

To chase her away?

Yolanda had no right!

Melissa immediately turned to Cooper with a pitiable look, "Cooper, I..."

"Melissa, you should head back first."

Melissa didn’t expect Cooper to also be showing her out.

She clenched her fists tight, barely holding back her anger, "Alright, Cooper, then I’ll go back. About what I was telling you earlier..."

"I will handle it." Cooper nodded and saw her out.

Yolanda went upstairs and began to take out her belongings, placing them back in their original positions.

"Yolanda, to use the threat of divorce against Melissa really was enlightening," Cooper’s voice came from behind.

Yolanda turned to him, "What did she tell you?"

"Hmph!"

Cooper did not answer Yolanda’s question but continued with his sarcastic remarks.

"Yolanda, do you really see yourself as Mrs. Coldson?"

"You think you can divorce whenever you want or stay whenever you want?"

"This marriage is non-negotiable; it must end."

Yolanda retorted angrily, "Fine then, if you’re capable, drag me to the Civil Affairs Office yourself."

Cooper held his head, feeling a headache coming on, "Tell me, how much do you want?"

This woman keeps changing her tactics, all for money in the end.

He was fed up, "A billion then? I’ll transfer the money right after we finalize the proceedings tomorrow."

"Do you want to marry Melissa Greenwood that badly?"

Yolanda felt as if a stone was lodged in her chest, making it hard to breathe.

"Enough talk."

Cooper turned and went to the guestroom.

"Despicable man!"

It was the first time Yolanda had ever cursed Cooper out loud.

Before, she had seen herself as the guilty party, enduring whatever insults Cooper threw at her.

But now, why should she endure?

The more she thought, the angrier and more aggrieved she felt.

The next day, she woke up to find a large patch of tears on her pillow.

In the living room, Cooper received a call from Melissa.

"Cooper, can your company’s PR department pull down the top trending searches?"

"What trending searches?"

"The thing I mentioned yesterday... Cooper, don’t ask, just pull down the top three for me, please."

Before Cooper could ask anything more, she hung up the phone.

With a suspicious expression, he opened Weibo and seeing the top three trending topics that had exploded, his face darkened.
