Chapter 186: I Want to Take Revenge on Melissa Greenwood

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: I Want to Take Revenge on Melissa Greenwood

"Miss Greenwood, your work is very beautiful, like a dream."

The President of Tala was full of praise for Yolanda Greenwood.

"Thank you for your compliment." Yolanda Greenwood smiled,

"Miss Greenwood, I heard that you rejected the opportunity to study at our headquarters. May I know the reason?"

"..." Yolanda hesitated for a moment before saying, "It’s personal reasons. I’m afraid it’s not convenient for me to go abroad for a short period. If possible..."

"That’s too bad." The President of Tala shook his head, interrupting Yolanda.

"I’m sorry." Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth, sensing someone watching her. She turned her head and met eyes with Cooper Coldson.

Cooper quickly looked away and naturally stood to the side behind Yolanda.

Pretending nothing had happened, she went along with some group photos before planning to leave.

She didn’t expect Cooper to follow.

"Let’s talk," the man said in a low voice.

Yolanda pretended not to hear and quickened her pace.

Cooper stepped forward and grabbed her arm, his eyes unwavering, "I have something to say."

After the show, the dance had begun.

Lola Gold and others noticed the situation at Yolanda’s side and immediately came over.

Noah Coldson swiftly approached, grabbed Cooper’s wrist, and warned softly, "Let her go!"

Cooper turned and glared at him, but Noah was unflinching.

"Let Yolanda go!" Noah repeated.

Cooper gritted his teeth, "Brother, get it straight—I’m not divorced from her yet. Our issues don’t need a third party like you to interfere!"

The word "third party" made Noah frown deeply.

"I only know that Yolanda has nothing to say to you. Don’t blame me for being rude if you don’t let go."

Clearly, Noah was ready to act, and Cooper wouldn’t gain anything by physical confrontation.

Yet he still didn’t let go, instead turning to look at Yolanda.

Yolanda knew that if Noah and Cooper started fighting here, the Coldson Family would become the laughingstock of Gray City.

She shook her head at Noah and then looked at Cooper, "Alright, let’s go outside and talk."

"Yolanda," Noah called, "don’t force yourself. If you want to leave, I can take you away right now."

"It’s okay, brother." Yolanda looked at Lola Gold and others, "You guys continue having fun. I will be back soon."

Reluctantly, Noah let go and watched as Yolanda and Cooper left.

"Brother, don’t be mad at Yolanda," Lola Gold said softly beside him, "There are indeed some issues she needs to clarify with Cooper."

"I’m not mad, I just don’t want her to compromise herself," Noah said, pulling at the corner of his mouth, "You guys go dance. I’ll sit for a while."

Yolanda and Cooper went straight to the large terrace.

It was midwinter, and it was obviously cold on the terrace. Yolanda shivered as she opened the door.

As she hesitated whether to go back, she felt a jacket, warm and with a familiar scent, draped over her shoulders.

She turned hurriedly, catching Cooper’s evasive eyes.

It was Cooper, who had taken off his suit jacket for her.

Yolanda frowned and was about to take it off to return it, "No need. Just get to the point."

Cooper held the jacket in place, his already cold features seemed to harden further, "Yolanda, is this necessary? I’m not cold. Keep it on."

Cooper then pushed the door open first and went out.

Yolanda sighed softly and reluctantly followed.

This was the first time Cooper had considerately offered her his jacket, but she felt no joy.

It seemed that once a heart truly cooled, it was difficult to stir it again.

She saw that Cooper was silent, so she took it upon herself to ask, "Weren’t we supposed to talk?"

Cooper turned to look at her. He could sense the impatience in Yolanda’s tone. Did she dislike him this much now?

"There’s something you need to know," he slowly began.

Yolanda waited for him to continue.

"Have you ever considered that you might not be the daughter of Eliana Reed and Third Greenwood?" Cooper looked at her, a trace of barely noticeable pain in his eyes.

Yolanda remained unaffected and countered, "You already knew?"

"You knew already?" Cooper was surprised.

"If that’s what you wanted to talk about, then we’re done here. Can I go back now?" Yolanda said, about to take off the jacket and give it back.

Cooper frowned, "Don’t you have anything to say?"

"Say what?" Yolanda half-laughed, half-cried, "To say how I was mistreated by Eliana, how miserable and pitiful I was?"

Cooper pursed his lips. In the past, whenever Yolanda was wronged, hadn’t she always told him first?

But now...

Yolanda looked down, not wanting to see Cooper’s expression at that moment, "Cooper, there’s only one thing left between us now—divorce. If you find the time, contact me. As for anything else, let’s forget it."

She handed him his jacket.

Cooper caught it, grabbing Yolanda’s wrist, "Yolanda, some things may indeed have been a mistake. Give it some time."

Yolanda turned to look at him.

Cooper continued, "About the incident on the island, give me time to investigate. Moreover, Melissa is suffering from depression now; she can’t stand any shocks..."

Yolanda pulled away sharply, "There’s no need to investigate the island incident. I lied; I wanted to ruin your wedding."

Cooper’s eyes widened, "Why?"

"Why?" Yolanda laughed, "Because I hate you. When I married you back then, did you ever think of giving me a wedding? Don’t mention a wedding; I didn’t even have a wedding dress or a ring. Why does she have everything?"

Yolanda gritted her teeth, "I was just jealous of her, hated her, and wanted to ruin her..."

Cooper slapped her, never expecting to be played by Yolanda.

He felt ridiculous.

These past few days, he had been restless, asking Richard Reyes to investigate the incident on the island, always without uncovering the truth, his scales leaning toward Yolanda.

But Yolanda said it was all for revenge.

And he, merely a tool for her revenge.

Yolanda’s face turned to the side from the slap, but she felt an inexplicable relief. Good, she didn’t want to see Cooper pretending to stand up for her.

She just wanted them to have no ties forever.

She strode toward the exit.

"Grandfather’s condition isn’t good lately; if you still acknowledge him, go see him," Cooper suddenly said from behind her.

Yolanda paused, "I’ll find time to visit."

"Let me know beforehand."

"No need; I’ll go with my brother." Yolanda opened the terrace door and quickly left.

Cooper stood silently for a while, then looked at his palm that had just hit Yolanda, his emotions unclear.

He hadn’t intended to come today; it was Richard Reyes who said this show would feature Yolanda’s work that he ended up coming.

Perhaps, from the beginning, he shouldn’t have come.
