Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Eyes on the Scissors on the Table

After getting into the car, Ethan Taylor sounded somewhat impatient, "Why are you so slow?"

Lola Gold furrowed her brows and patiently explained, "I just ran into a jerk, and I’m sorry for making you wait."

"Jerk?" Ethan started the car, "Why didn’t you call me? I could have gone in and taught him a lesson."

"It’s fine, I took care of it." After all, their path ahead was unclear, and Lola didn’t want him to know where she actually lived.

The two of them went straight to the amusement park and spent the day there, but Lola always felt like Ethan’s heart wasn’t in it.

She vaguely felt that Ethan wasn’t accompanying her willingly, so on the ride back, she talked about her situation with Christopher Coldson.

"Brother Ethan," she forced a smile, "actually, I should have clarified these things the first time we met, it’s just..."

Who would willingly open up their wounds in front of someone they didn’t trust?

"Do you want to go for a drink?" Ethan suddenly suggested, "To hell with the lover, to hell with Christopher Coldson, Lola Gold, do you want to go drinking with me?"

Lola didn’t expect this response but after a moment’s thought, she nodded in agreement.

It was ultimately her fault.

The two of them went to a restaurant and drank for two full hours. Lola felt a bit drunk and requested to go home.

"Alright, I’ll take you," Ethan stood up and pulled her.

"No need, I can just take a taxi." Lola patted Ethan’s shoulder, "Brother Ethan, thanks for everything these days, let’s... part ways without any set plans."

Her steps were a bit unsteady, and at that moment, she definitely couldn’t trust Ethan to take her home.

She took a taxi home and, while unlocking her door, she pondered how to talk to Yolanda Greenwood.

But as she opened the door, someone suddenly sprang out from the side. Lola couldn’t even see who it was before she was dragged into the room.

The door shut behind them, and she was pressed against it.

"Who? Let go of me!" Lola desperately struggled.

"You think you owe me an apology, don’t you?" In the darkness, Ethan’s voice was gritted with rage, "Then apologize properly, with your body."

Just before, his car had been following the taxi closely, and after Lola got out, he followed her at a distance.

He never intended to be with Lola, but he lusted after her body, especially after finding out she had been a mistress.

"Let go, let go of me!" Lola struggled fiercely, but her limbs were weak from drinking.

Ethan began to tear at her clothes, groping her, "Slut, why pretend to be pure? How did you serve that Coldson man?"

He was unable to stop himself from kissing Lola, but she bit his lip hard, causing him to step back several paces, his mouth full of blood.

"Slut!" Ethan furiously slapped Lola twice, "What, is it because I don’t have as much money as he does? Well, let me tell you, in bed, I’m ten thousand times better than him. Just enjoy it."

He lunged at her again.

"Let go of me, let go of me." Lola almost started crying, "I beg you, please let me go."

"Enjoy it." Ethan began to unbuckle his pants.

Lola’s hand reached to the side where she remembered there was a vase on the Doorway cabinet.

Sure enough, she quickly felt the vase and struck him with it.

"Ah!" Ethan cried out in pain, falling to the floor; he hadn’t expected Lola to resist so fiercely.

It seemed he couldn’t get his way without half-killing her.

He lifted his foot and violently kicked her in the stomach, "Die, die, you slut!"

Lola instantly broke out in a cold sweat from the pain, her body curling up, completely unable to resist.

She thought to herself, this was her retribution.

Ethan felt some warm liquid splash on his face, and when he touched it, it was blood.

He lifted his foot again, aiming to kick Lola’s head, but just then, sirens sounded outside.

He panicked immediately, wondering why the police were here.

"Open up!" A rough voice demanded from outside, followed by sounds of the lock being picked.

Hearing the voice, Lola, weakly cried out, "Christopher Coldson, save me, save me!"

Ethan completely panicked; he kicked Lola in the stomach again, "You whore, you really are a lowlife, still involved with that man."

At that moment, the door burst open, and the instant Christopher Coldson stepped in and turned on the light, everything was starkly illuminated.

When he saw Lola lying on the floor, bloodied and disheveled, Christopher Coldson momentarily forgot to breathe.

He should have come in sooner.

He rushed over with red eyes and picked up Lola, glaring hatefully at Ethan, "Do you know who I am?"

Ethan stepped back in fear. He hadn’t known, but yesterday when Sunny Coldson had found him, he had looked it up online.

Although there wasn’t much about Christopher Coldson online, the information about the Coldson Group was frightening.

Yet it was precisely because of this that he desired Lola more, thinking it impressive to share a woman with the Coldson Family.

"You either jump yourself or..." Christopher stood up, "or wait to die in here."

Ethan’s legs went weak, and he immediately knelt down, "Spare my life, Mr. Coldson, I was wrong, please..."

"I’m telling you, inside here, I’ll make sure you suffer worse than death for three months before letting you meet King Morrow. Forgive?" He sneered, "Go beg King Morrow."

Footsteps sounded from outside; clearly, the police had arrived.

Ethan’s face went pale. He wanted to beg for mercy but saw Christopher Coldson already leaving with Lola in his arms.

Indeed, in Christopher’s eyes, killing him was as simple as killing an ant; he was done for.

He backed up a few steps, opened the balcony door, hurried over the railing, and jumped down.

The last thing Lola heard before passing out was, "Not good, the suspect has jumped off."

Meanwhile, at the camp, Noah Coldson took Yolanda Greenwood to try calling Lola Gold.

Noah thought that contacting Lola might be the only thing that could lift Yolanda’s spirits now.

But something seemed off, as several calls went unanswered.

"Lola is probably still on her date," Noah comforted Yolanda, but he knew it was unlikely; Lola knew about Yolanda’s situation and wouldn’t just ignore the calls.

Yolanda blinked, "Nothing’s happened to Lola, right?"

"No," Noah was very certain, "How about I drop you off first, then I’ll try calling a few more times and tell you if I get through."

Yolanda nodded her head, not sure why, but she felt an urge to cry.

She held back until she lay back down in the infirmary bed, then she covered her head and let the tears flow.

She knew something had happened to Lola; they were both forsaken by heaven.

Perhaps they were never meant to be in this world, their arrival merely to repay debts.

Until the early hours, she couldn’t sleep, and Noah brought no news of Lola.

Sitting up, her gaze fell on a pair of scissors on the table.
