Chapter 178: She Lost a Child for Him

Chapter 178: Chapter 178: She Lost a Child for Him

Lola Gold had not expected to receive a message from Ethan Taylor before going to sleep.

"Lola, are you asleep? Do you want to go to the theme park together tomorrow?"

Lola frowned in confusion. After Ethan left today, he had not contacted her, and she thought that their relationship had surely ended.

As she hesitated over how to reply, a new message came in.

"Lola, everyone has a past. I’ve been thinking after I left today, what is it that I like?"

"What I like is the current you, so, I can also accept all of your past."

"Lola, give me a chance, don’t let me become another part of your past, okay?"

A succession of three messages touched Lola’s heart.

She did not dare to hope that Ethan would still choose her after knowing everything, so she decided to come clean about everything tomorrow.

"Okay, see you tomorrow."

Lola slowly exhaled, not regretting the experience she had with Christopher Coldson, and was ready to accept the consequences.

It had to be said, Christopher’s appearance yesterday indeed served as a reminder to her.

Just as she was about to put down her phone and go to sleep, it rang again.

It was Christopher Coldson.

Lola promptly hung up.

Christopher Coldson then sent a message, "Going to the theme park tomorrow? I’ve booked the whole place, should I pick you up?"

Lola clenched her teeth and blocked him.

Christopher Coldson, unaware that he had been blocked, sent several more persistent messages.

"Did you see that? If you don’t reply, I’ll take it as a yes?"

"Lola? Are you mad at me? I think"

"I think I’ve truly fallen for you."

After several days of reflection, Christopher Coldson had to accept the fact that he had fallen for his surrogate.

This must be karma!

"How’s that? She’s not taking your calls?" Sunny Coldson approached from behind.

"Yep." Christopher Coldson put away his phone, "This girl is really stubborn. Aside from looking a bit alike, you two are"

He shook his head helplessly, "worlds apart."

"Am I the heaven or the earth then?" Sunny Coldson walked up to him, resting her arm on his shoulder.

It was then that Christopher Coldson noticed Sunny had just taken a shower, wearing only a loose nightgown. Being so close to her, he could see almost everything inside.

He felt a strange repulsion and struggled to suppress the urge to turn and flee, "What’s the difference between heaven and earth?"

Sunny closed in even more. She couldn’t believe that Christopher still lacked any reaction, despite how she was.

She breathed softly and blew into Christopher’s eyes, "Of course there’s a difference. The heavens are high above, admired by everyone, while the earth"

She tiptoed, her tender red lips nearly touching him, "is trampled underfoot, and even despised... dirty!"

Christopher frowned. Sunny’s implication was clear: she was the heavens, and Lola Gold was the earth.

"The earth that nurtures all life, dirty?" he chuckled, "If that’s the case, then stay in the heavens forever."

Seeing him defend Lola Gold made Sunny hold back her annoyance and she kissed him.

Christopher took a step back, trying to dodge.

"Christopher," Sunny’s eyes were tearful as she looked at him, "for all these years, there have only been you and that child. His death was truly tragic..."

Christopher stood as if struck by lightning, motionless.

It was on the day of his engagement party, the one he failed to attend, that he learned something.

It turned out that after Sunny went abroad, she had discovered she was carrying his child, but that child... didn’t survive.

Sunny had suffered through all of this alone, so indeed, he, Christopher Coldson, owed her.

On that day, he had almost fallen into despair. He couldn’t imagine how Sunny endured it,—he knelt on the ground, weeping in agony, yet he couldn’t turn back time.

For a long time, he forced himself to forget Lola Gold and devoted himself to being with Sunny.

But it became clear, he couldn’t do it.

Sunny was still the same as before. She pitied him and told him that he could go back to Lola Gold without worry, her only demand being the status of Christopher Coldson’s wife.

Christopher agreed.

Even if his love for her had faded, he couldn’t fail her again.

As for Lola Gold, he would entrust his heart entirely to her, believing that she would definitely accept it.

"Christopher, I want another child." Sunny pressed herself against Christopher, "This way, even if you’re not by my side later, I’ll still have the child and won’t be so lonely. Is that okay?"

Christopher was stunned.

"Help me, please." Sunny sought his lips, "Christopher, pity your sister, please."

The word ’sister’ made Christopher surrender completely; he lifted her up and carried her straight to the bedroom.

However, to his surprise, he, the brother, was quite unable to rise to the occasion.

No matter how Sunny tempted him, he simply couldn’t perform, completely unable to become aroused.

An hour later, Sunny went to the bathroom by herself and took another shower.

She truly hated Lola Gold now. How could Christopher have been so enchanted by Lola?

Just now, she had been completely wet through, yet Christopher had shown no reaction at all. Before she went abroad, Christopher hadn’t been like this at all.

Back then, it didn’t matter how she dressed, or even if she just blew a breath near Christopher’s ear, the young man would immediately react.

But now... Sunny secretly vowed that she would make Lola Gold pay the price.

The next morning, after Lola had gotten ready, she received a call from Ethan Taylor and the two agreed to meet at the entrance to the complex.

But as Lola descended the stairs, she saw Christopher Coldson waiting downstairs.

Today he had switched styles, wearing a light gray tracksuit with a black down jacket, his hair hanging down cleanly—looking like a college student, clearly prepared for the theme park.

Seeing Lola still came down, he was delighted and immediately went to greet her.

"Let’s go, I parked the car outside, and I bought a lot of food, all your favorites."

Lola frowned, "Go? Where?"

She strode forward, "I think you’re mistaken. I have plans with someone else today, I don’t have time for you."

"Who did you make plans with?" Christopher Coldson stepped forward, grabbing Lola’s arm.

"It’s none of your business." Lola, having had enough, retorted, "Christopher Coldson, if you keep harassing me like this, I will call the police."

"Go ahead." Christopher Coldson didn’t care.

"Christopher, how come I never noticed how shameless you were before?" Lola suddenly laughed, "Christopher, do you know what you look like right now?"

Christopher still gripped her arm, looking somewhat innocent because he knew Lola wouldn’t have anything nice to say.

"Annoying clingy plaster!" Lola forcibly shook off his grasp, "Christopher, stop pretending. If you’re really incapable, just take some medication. I don’t want to see you, and I certainly won’t sleep with you."

She snorted disdainfully and walked away quickly.
