Chapter 175: Chapter 175 Mom Don’t Cry, Mom Isn’t Sad at All

After returning home, Lola Gold knew that Yolanda Greenwood had said nothing, which made her somewhat angry.

"Yolanda, why didn’t you say anything?" she asked, not quite understanding.

"He’s just too pitiful," Yolanda said, and to her surprise, her voice was somewhat choked up.

Lola Gold’s heart ached, and she immediately went to embrace her, "It’s alright, it’s alright, if you don’t want to talk about it, then don’t. I’m not blaming you."

Yolanda’s eyes began to well up with tears; in fact, the moment she saw Jaxon Greenwood, her nose had started to tingle with emotion.

Jaxon Greenwood was approaching sixty this year, but today, he looked almost seventy.

The continuous blows had bent the Patriarch of the Greenwood Family’s back. If she were now to tell him that his daughter, whom he had protected like his own life, had harmed his most beloved wife... Yolanda truly couldn’t imagine how Jaxon would continue to live on.

Lola Gold and Noah Coldson exchanged glances, both feeling somewhat helpless.

After all, in their eyes, Yolanda was the one who deserved the most pity.

"By the way, brother," Yolanda asked cautiously after wiping her tears, "did you go to the hospital today?"

"Yes," Noah’s gaze immediately began to dart around evasively.

Yolanda’s heart sank, "Did something happen?"

"Nothing, don’t overthink it," Noah pleaded with Lola Gold through his gaze.

"Alright, it’s getting late, Yolanda, you should go to bed. Tomorrow..." Lola Gold looked towards Noah, "Will you two be returning to the camp tomorrow?"

"Yes, going back tomorrow," Noah looked towards Yolanda, "Is that okay?"

Yolanda was clearly out of sorts; the less Noah spoke, the more she suspected something was amiss.

"I want to go to the hospital tomorrow."

"To see what? To see if that bitch Melissa Greenwood has been buried?" Lola Gold almost crushed her back teeth in anger.

Just thinking about breathing the same city air as that kind of bitch made her nauseous.

"Yolanda, why do you want to go to the hospital?" Noah naturally did not agree either. If Yolanda went and discovered that things had taken a turn, how could she accept it?

Yolanda fell silent.

Right, what could she do at the hospital? If Melissa had already taken care of the matter, going there would only be humiliating herself.

"Okay," she forced a smile, "I won’t go. Let’s return to the camp tomorrow."

A sense of exhaustion, unlike anything she had ever felt before, spread throughout her body; now she just wanted to hide away in the camp, to be in a place where no one could find her.

Lola Gold and Noah Coldson exchanged looks again, with mixed feelings in their hearts.

Lola Gold suspected that Yolanda already knew what had happened in the hospital, just as she had known about Gemma Morgan’s death earlier, but had simply been playing along with them.

And this time, Yolanda had chosen to escape.

"Okay, then get some rest tonight. We’ll set off early tomorrow," Noah nodded to Yolanda.

It was only after Yolanda had gone back to her room that Noah told Lola Gold what had happened in the hospital.

"What?" Lola Gold exploded with anger, "Eliana Reed lying is bad enough, but why is Jaxon lying too? Just because Melissa is his daughter, does he not even care about his own reputation?"

"When the day comes that he learns the truth, I wonder how he will face Yolanda." She was so angry she burst into tears.

"Keep your voice down," Noah was afraid Yolanda would hear.

But Yolanda heard it all, covering her mouth behind the door, letting the tears rampage unchecked.

Nevertheless, after just a minute, she suddenly stopped crying, patted her belly softly, and whispered, "Babies, be good, Mommy’s not crying, Mommy’s not sad at all."

She climbed into bed, feeling like a walking corpse.

Back in the living room, Lola Gold continued to curse in a lower voice, "No, the one who really deserves the blame is your dumb little brother, just incomprehensibly stupid."

Noah sighed heavily, "Indeed, sooner or later, he will realize what he’s lost."

He readied himself to leave, "Take care of Yolanda then, I’ll be going back. I’ll come to pick her up early tomorrow."

"Brother," Lola Gold saw him to the door, "can you make a real effort, please?"

Noah looked at her, puzzled.

"Make an effort to win Yolanda’s heart back," Lola Gold said with teary eyes, "Otherwise, if this continues, I’m afraid that Yolanda..."

"I will!" Noah said with conviction!

The next morning, Yolanda appeared to be normal, just very languid, as if she were very tired.

"Did you not sleep well last night?" Lola Gold asked with concern.

Yolanda strained to remember, "I fell asleep quickly after going to my room and slept quite well."

Lola Gold observed her carefully; indeed, Yolanda didn’t have any dark circles under her eyes, so she seemed to have had a decent sleep, but her whole demeanor was one of extreme exhaustion, lacking in energy.

"Lola," Noah confirmed with her again, "are you really not coming with us?"

Lola shook her head, "Forget it; that kind of solitary, secluded life is not for me."

She had a live stream to support her family; she really couldn’t go.

She then smiled at Yolanda, "Wait for my good news. I have a date with the number one guy today, I’ll tell you first if there’s any news."

"Good luck then, and take care of yourself," Yolanda managed a smile, still without much energy.

Soon after, Noah and Yolanda left.

Lola Gold indeed had a date with the number one guy today, a man named Ethan Taylor whom she had met a few times before. He was respectful and had a scholarly appearance.

Although she could ignore Christopher Coldson, she understood that to truly forget, she needed a new beginning.

She applied a light makeup and left the house early.

The two of them had arranged to meet for breakfast at a café and then go to the amusement park together.

Lola Gold had never been to an amusement park before. When she was younger, her father went with her stepmother and stepsister, while she was left at home to clean.

Later, after she had become independent, she still didn’t have much money. It was hard enough to support herself and her mother; she never thought about going to amusement parks.

In her memory, amusement parks were for children, loving couples, and happy families, and her presence... would only bring resentment.

After that, being kept by Christopher Coldson, she had money and time. She even knew that if she asked, Christopher would definitely take her.

However, she never mentioned it, because she knew they were not in love.

So, she was happy and full of anticipation for today’s date.

But unexpectedly, while at the café, she ran into Christopher Coldson and Sunny Coldson; at that moment, she almost forgot to breathe.

"What’s wrong?" Ethan Taylor, the number one guy, who was thirty years old and seemed quite perceptive, asked, "Do you know them?"

Christopher and Sunny were indeed an attractive pair, and their appearance had attracted the attention of almost everyone.

Lola Gold immediately forced a smile and looked away, "I don’t know them."

She didn’t want to stay there any longer, "Have you finished eating? Shall we leave now?"

"Sure," Ethan agreed.

However, just as they were about to leave, Christopher and Sunny Coldson actually walked over to them.
