Chapter 157: A Potentially Devastating Blow to Her

Chapter 157: Chapter 157: A Potentially Devastating Blow to Her

After Adam Sterling had left, Yolanda Greenwood thought for a while longer.

She knew Adam Sterling was right; even if Cooper Coldson was remorseful, she wouldn’t agree immediately.

Even if it was to repay a kindness, Cooper Coldson had no right to hurt her this way.

During lunch, she found Noah Coldson.

"Brother, my phone..."

Noah immediately responded, "The phone is with me, do you need to use it? Now?"

"Yes." Yolanda nodded, "I want to call Cooper Coldson to tell him the truth."

"Okay." Noah pulled the corners of his mouth; he knew this was coming; he knew his exit was near, but he didn’t regret it.

Twenty years ago, he had hurt Yolanda; this time, he was determined to protect her.

Noah then took Yolanda to his room and returned the phone to her.

"However, you can’t make calls from here; you need to come out with me," he reminded Yolanda. "Put on more clothes, and I’ll wait for you in the parking lot."

Yolanda nodded, turned on the phone, and indeed, there was no signal.

As she flipped through her phone, she walked back; in the medical room, Noah had prepared a thick military coat for her.

While Noah was getting the car, he ran into Adam, who was apparently waiting for him.

"Thank you," he walked up and patted Adam on the shoulder. "With Dr. Sterling stepping in, Yolanda eventually came around."

Adam was unimpressed by the flattery. "I feel I need to remind you."

His expression was so serious that Noah suddenly became scared.

"If this time, things don’t turn out as you hope," Adam sighed softly, "then it could be a catastrophic blow to her."

"What... what do you mean?" Noah stammered, startled.

"Are you certain Cooper Coldson wants to marry that fraud just to repay a kindness?"

Noah nodded affirmatively; Cooper Coldson had no reason to lie to him.

Adam asked further, "Are you certain that Cooper Coldson has developed feelings for Yolanda? That knowing the truth will surely make him choose Yolanda?"

Noah nodded again, "He has no reason not to choose Yolanda."

"It’s for the best." Adam made it clear. "You need to know this might be the second time she has come into your lives as a savior, exactly like twenty years ago; if history repeats itself..."

It wasn’t until Adam’s figure had disappeared that Noah realized he was breaking out in cold sweat.

Adam was right; if this time she didn’t get the recognition she deserved, it could truly destroy Yolanda.

Noah began to regret.

He wondered whether he should let Yolanda think it over again; it was only then that he realized Yolanda had left a while ago and had still not returned.

Could something have happened?

Noah hurried to the medical room; thankfully, he saw Yolanda sitting on the bed, seemingly not yet dressed in her thick clothes.

"Yolanda..."

"Brother," Yolanda interrupted Noah first, "I want to think it over again."

She could let herself not care about Cooper Coldson’s choice, but there was something even more important.

Just after getting her phone back, she had seen the messages from Gemma Morgan.

Although they hadn’t recognized each other that day, Yolanda had an inkling that Gemma already knew they were the real mother and daughter.

Melissa Greenwood was crazy; if she exposed Melissa, she couldn’t imagine what Gemma would do. Could Melissa, in a fit of rage, hurt Gemma?

This was something she couldn’t overlook.

She stole a glance at Noah; she knew she had disappointed him.

"Yolanda," unexpectedly, Noah didn’t continue to persuade her. "It’s okay; take your time. Even if you eventually decide not to come forward, or if you want me to tell Cooper for you, that’s fine too."

Yolanda was moved, "Brother, thank you."

"What silly thing to say?" Noah thought about the possibilities that Adam had mentioned and didn’t dare take any risks either.

Meanwhile, Cooper Coldson received a call from Melissa Greenwood.

"Cooper, there’s trouble; my mom is in a bad way," Melissa was already crying on the other end.

"Okay, don’t panic, I’m on my way to the hospital right now," Cooper got up, ready to go immediately.

"Cooper, can you find Yolanda?" In the past few days, Melissa had tried all means but couldn’t find Yolanda; she had to ask Cooper for help.

Cooper frowned, "What happened?"

"Cooper, my mom urgently needs a blood transfusion, and only Yolanda has the same blood type as her," Melissa continued crying, "Cooper, last time my mom..."

"I’ll see what I can do, don’t worry," Cooper hung up the phone.

The scene of Yolanda’s heavy bleeding was still vividly in his mind, was she in a condition to donate blood?

He hesitated and called Richard Reyes in.

"About gathering the rare blood types I mentioned last time, how is it coming along?"

"It’s started from all over the country, but panda blood is indeed very precious, each hospital has only a small amount, this will take time."

Cooper sighed; it seemed he could only try to find Yolanda first.

He tried calling Noah Coldson but couldn’t get through, so he called Lola Gold.

"Yolanda’s Eldest Aunt is critically ill and needs blood," he got straight to the point. "Can you get in touch with Yolanda?"

"Gemma Morgan?" Lola jumped up from the couch in shock.

"Yes." Cooper replied, about to ask further when Lola had already hung up.

He couldn’t just sit and wait, he also instructed Richard, "Contact the nearest hospital, and call the airport too, I’ll personally go to get the blood."

Richard instantly understood that Cooper was planning to use his private plane.

"Yes, I’ll do it right away," he immediately turned around to coordinate the related affairs.

Lola quickly got through to the campsite phone, which Noah had left for emergencies.

"Brother, tell Yolanda that Gemma Morgan is critically ill and needs blood; tell her to come back quickly."

"Gemma Morgan?" Noah remembered, that was Yolanda’s Eldest Aunt. He hesitated, "Is there no other way? Yolanda’s condition might not allow for..."

"Brother, just tell Yolanda to let her decide; go quickly," Lola couldn’t speak on Yolanda’s behalf about the other matters.

"Okay."

"You must hurry!"

Lola already knew Yolanda’s decision, but if they didn’t save Gemma Morgan, Yolanda would blame herself for a lifetime.

Noah didn’t know the relationship between Gemma Morgan and Yolanda; he felt Yolanda shouldn’t go back, but as soon as Yolanda heard the news, she wanted to leave immediately.

"Yolanda," Noah wanted to persuade her one more time, "you are not in good health right now..."

"Brother," Yolanda’s eyes reddened, "If I can’t save her, I will never forgive myself."

Seeing her like this, Noah knew he shouldn’t persuade further, "Alright, get dressed, I’ll go start the car."

They moved quickly, and an hour later, Yolanda appeared at the hospital.

She first went to draw blood; as she got up, she felt dizzy and nearly fainted.

"Yolanda, sit down and rest a bit," Noah supported her.

"I can’t, I need to wait by the emergency room door!"
