Chapter 148: Chapter 148 Big Brother, I Am Helping You

Noah Coldson forcefully pushed him away, "Even if I knew something, I wouldn’t tell you."

Cooper Coldson glared at him furiously, "Fine, when she wakes up, I’ll ask her myself."

Noah snorted and strode away, quickly finding Melissa Greenwood.

"Did you do this on purpose?" He cornered her in the stairwell, his expression dark as he began.

"Not at all," Melissa Greenwood trembled, "Big brother, you’ve misunderstood, it really was an accident."

Noah Coldson tugged at the corner of his mouth, "You might deceive Cooper, but you can’t deceive me."

Suddenly, Melissa let out a light laugh, "Yolanda Greenwood is pregnant with Cooper’s child, what’s the benefit to you? Big brother, I’m helping you!"

Infuriated, Noah Coldson grasped her neck, "Do you want to die!"

Melissa did not struggle, speaking with difficulty, "Big brother, you like Yolanda Greenwood, don’t you? Will you continue to be a fugitive?"

Hearing the term ’fugitive,’ Noah’s eyelids twitched, "That’s none of your business, if you dare to harm Yolanda, I’ll finish you!"

He lowered his voice to warn Melissa, "You’re not the girl you once were, Yolanda is. Do you think if Cooper knew, he would still marry you?"

He flung her aside.

"Cough cough, cough cough..." Melissa Greenwood fell to the ground and began coughing violently.

As she coughed, she looked up at Noah Coldson, not with the fear of being exposed, but with a hint of a smile instead.

"Big brother, there were four children on the island that year," her smile grew more evident, "So, what have you done..."

Noah Coldson was suddenly filled with endless fear, stepping forward and pinning Melissa Greenwood against the wall, "What do you know?"

"I know everything, a little more than Cooper, a bit more than Yolanda." Melissa smiled even more joyfully, "My dear big brother, I’ve said before, I’m helping you."

Noah let go of her, looking aimlessly at the ground.

Melissa straightened her clothes, "Big brother, marrying Cooper means you get Yolanda, isn’t that good?"

"I have no feelings for Yolanda..." Noah tried to deny his feelings for Yolanda Greenwood.

"Big brother, stop lying to yourself," Melissa interrupted him, "In a while, I will call Cooper away. Over there in the emergency room, it’s all yours. I don’t think you want Cooper to know Yolanda’s pregnancy, and Yolanda wouldn’t want that either."

She blinked, "I’ll help you both."

Noah looked at her coldly, "Melissa Greenwood, I warn you, I’ve already missed one chance, I won’t miss again. If you dare to hurt Yolanda again, I will not allow it."

"Don’t worry, this is the last time," Melissa raised her hand as if swearing an oath, "What woman would want her husband to have an illegitimate child outside?"

Noah’s expression grew even more unsightly, "Yolanda’s child... might be fine."

"How could it be?" Melissa didn’t believe it, but faced with Noah’s menacing gaze, she quickly added, "Alright, alright, don’t worry. If the child is fine, it means they have great fortune, and I won’t hurt her again."

Noah turned and walked away, then turned back sarcastically, "Cooper has already fallen for Yolanda, I see you might not be able to call him away."

He strode off, leaving Melissa Greenwood grinding her teeth in hatred.

Noah then called the Women’s Maternity Hospital’s Dr. Ivy Hall to inform her about Yolanda’s condition. Dr. Ivy Hall was not optimistic and, as she wasn’t at their hospital, couldn’t give an accurate assessment.

"Don’t worry," he spoke in a lowered voice as he walked back, "I’ll find a way to bring her to you as soon as possible."

When Noah returned, Cooper Coldson was still seated in the chair.

The normally spirited Patriarch of the Coldson Family looked somewhat defeated.

He looked up at Noah, "What took you so long inside?"

Noah’s heart ached, sitting beside Cooper, "Just wait."

In silence, they sat. Not much later, Melissa Greenwood came running over, crying and yelling.

"Cooper, quick, come see my mother, she... she fainted."

Cooper frowned, "Didn’t you seek a doctor?"

"I did," Melissa grabbed Cooper’s arm, "but I’m still so scared, Cooper, please come with me."

Cooper was visibly struggling.

Melissa immediately said further, "Big brother is here, isn’t he? Moreover, Yolanda is still unconscious, you being here won’t help."

"You go and take a look," Noah spoke slowly, "Aunt Morgan is after all giving blood for Yolanda."

Cooper stood up, looking unsurely at the emergency room light again before instructing Noah, "If Yolanda wakes up, call me immediately."

He quickly added, "Whatever happens, call me immediately."

Noah nodded.

Around half an hour passed and the emergency room light suddenly went off.

Noah approached quickly, asking anxiously, "How is the patient?"

The leading doctor gave him a cold look, "Are you a family member?"

Noah nodded.

"The child has been saved for now, but she must be hospitalized, and it’s best to transfer her to the Women’s Maternity Hospital; otherwise, it’s too risky for the child."

The doctor sighed deeply, "Your wife was calling out for the child in her unconsciousness, showing how much she values this child. You as a husband should be more careful."

"Yes, yes, thank you," said Noah apologetically. Watching Yolanda being wheeled out, he immediately confirmed with the doctor, "Can I transfer her now?"

The doctor nodded, "The sooner the better, her previous hospital is more familiar with her condition."

"Good," Noah quickly made a phone call, and then said to the doctor, "Doctor, there’s something else, I’d like to discuss with you in your office."

The doctor furrowed his brows but didn’t refuse.

Inside the office, Noah began, "Actually, I’m the patient’s older brother. She just finished divorce proceedings with her husband, still within the cooling-off period."

It all seemed senseless to the doctor, who stayed silent.

"She didn’t want her husband to know she was pregnant," Noah’s voice was filled with pleading, "It will prevent her marriage from being dissolved if he finds out."

He sighed deeply, "My sister’s fate is hard, this is her only chance."

The doctor’s eyes widened slightly, picturing a unfortunate woman trapped by marriage, determined to divorce even though she was pregnant. Her resolve to divorce was strong, as was her spirit.

His wife being a lawyer, he had seen many such cases.

He nodded immediately, "Don’t worry, get her transferred quickly. I guess this is a good deed against the rules."

"Thank you, doctor." Noah left and immediately saw Cooper.

"How is it? Is the rescue over? Why weren’t you guarding the emergency room?"
