Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Her Attitude Changed Without the Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law Relationship

Cooper Coldson didn’t say anything and turned into the villa.

Yolanda Greenwood hurriedly followed, she hadn’t really caught what Cooper had said just now, she faintly heard "what about me," but could that be possible?

She was sure she had misheard.

Upon entering the house, Yolanda saw Isabella Ross, Christopher Coldson, and Sunny Coldson talking in the living room.

As soon as she entered, the conversation abruptly stopped.

Yolanda felt uneasy, bowed her head slightly, and greeted everyone, "Mom... no, I mean, auntie..."

"He’s here to get something," Cooper interrupted Yolanda’s words and then commanded, "Come upstairs with me."

Yolanda forced a smile at everyone, "Then, I’ll go up first."

"Hold on." Unexpectedly, Isabella Ross stopped her.

Yolanda felt suddenly on edge.

"Mom," Cooper spoke again, his tone clearly impatient, "she’ll leave after she gets her things."

"What’s the matter? Are you afraid she’ll bite?" Isabella rose and walked over, her gaze unintentionally sweeping over Yolanda’s belly.

Standing in front of Yolanda, Isabella expressed her dissatisfaction, "Why have you lost weight?"

"Huh?" Yolanda was slightly surprised, she hadn’t misheard, had she? Was Isabella actually concerned about her?

At this moment, even Cooper seemed surprised, looking puzzled at Isabella.

Isabella coughed uncomfortably twice, "Alright, take care of yourself when you’re on your own outside, has your mother really stopped caring for you?"

Yolanda didn’t expect Isabella to bring up Eliana Reed, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time.

"She’s not my mom."

"You’re just too stubborn," Isabella shook her head, "Alright, go upstairs then, visit grandpa before you leave."

She figured, having something to think about at home would keep this child from disappearing altogether.

She added another line, "When you have time later, come and visit grandpa more often."

By the time Yolanda reached Old Master Coldson’s door, she was still dazed; she hadn’t expected that after divorcing Cooper, Isabella’s attitude towards her would actually change.

She looked at Cooper, slightly amused, "It seems, mom was annoyed with me before just because I took her place as Mrs. Coldson."

Cooper’s expression faltered: was it really like that? He too found Isabella’s attitude rather strange.

"I’m going in now." Yolanda knocked on the door and went in to see the old man.

Downstairs, Isabella Ross returned to the living room only to find Christopher Coldson looking at her with a particularly strange expression.

She knew why and silently took a seat.

"Big sister," Christopher leaned forward a bit, "has Yolanda gotten a hold of some leverage against you?"

Sunny also glanced over discreetly.

Obviously, the two younger Coldsons, who had crossed paths frequently with Isabella in their youth, profoundly knew that this sister-in-law was no saint; her kindness towards Yolanda today definitely had a reason.

Isabella’s face hardened, and she glared at the two, "Does everyone act like you? Living half a lifetime, only to cause trouble at home, anyone could hold leverage over you all!"

She was clearly referring to the engagement party incident.

This hit home for Christopher and Sunny, and they instantly stopped talking.

But they understood that something must have happened between Isabella and Yolanda, and judging by Yolanda’s reaction just now, she probably didn’t know about it either.

Upstairs, Old Master Coldson was reading, thinking he was dreaming when he saw Yolanda.

He removed his reading glasses, straining to see the young girl in front of him, "Our Yolanda knows what grandpa is thinking, so she came into grandpa’s dream, right?"

"Grandpa!" Yolanda Greenwood couldn’t help but tear up as she gently grabbed Old Master Coldson’s hand, "Grandpa, this isn’t a dream, Yolanda has come to see you."

Old Master Coldson blinked hard.

Yolanda Greenwood broke into a smile, "Grandpa, it’s really me. I’ve come back to say goodbye and to take my things."

"Are you taking everything?" Old Master Coldson clearly wasn’t pleased; with her things still here, he always felt she would come back, but now that she was taking everything...

He sighed deeply, "It’s probably for the best, best to avoid, Grandpa always feels like you still live in that room."

"Grandpa..." Yolanda Greenwood also couldn’t hold back her distress.

But what was done was done, and a new person was coming; what right did she, the person from the past, have to show up?

She sniffled and talked with Old Master Coldson for a while longer, agreed to call often, and then left.

Cooper Coldson wasn’t at the door; he must have already gone back.

Yolanda Greenwood went to her room, started packing her things little by little, but noticed that a piece of pajama seemed to be missing.

She searched thoroughly several times but couldn’t find it.

"How strange!" A set of pajamas suddenly missing a top was baffling to her.

"What’s going on?" Cooper Coldson, who had been sitting on the sofa looking at documents, looked up, "Are you all packed?"

Yolanda Greenwoood asked without much hope, "Have you seen a piece of my pajamas? It’s goose-yellow, a long-sleeve top."

"I haven’t seen it; you haven’t worn it recently either. Maybe you took it already?" Cooper Coldson continued to flip through his documents.

Yolanda Greenwood was secretly surprised; she hadn’t indeed worn it recently, but she hadn’t expected Cooper Coldson to notice.

Even if she hadn’t worn it, she wouldn’t have brought just the pants without the top; where could it be?

"If you’re done packing, you should leave soon, I’m tired and need to rest." Cooper Coldson started to rush her.

"Oh, I’m all packed." Yolanda Greenwood, feeling helpless, cast a glance at the unemotional man and quickly left.

While descending the stairs, she instructed Cooper Coldson, "If you find them, just throw them out for me."

Unexpectedly, Isabella Ross was still in the living room; she saw the two coming down, and with Cooper Coldson still in his pajamas, she said, "It’s getting late, Cooper, aren’t you going to see Yolanda out?"

Cooper Coldson frowned, the words of refusal hadn’t left his mouth when he heard footsteps behind him.

"I’ll take her; I’m heading out anyhow," offered Noah Coldson who had come out.

"Weren’t you already asleep?" Cooper Coldson asked sternly.

"No." Noah Coldson quickly stepped forward, took the things from Yolanda Greenwood’s hands, "Let’s go, I’ll take you back."

"No need." Yolanda Greenwood really didn’t want to bother Noah Coldson further, otherwise, she would have asked for his help with packing tonight.

"Come on, I need to go out, I’ll drop you off on the way." Noah Coldson nodded to Isabella Ross.

Yolanda could only accept, "Then, thanks, elder brother."

She looked towards Isabella Ross, now that they lacked the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law tie, it seemed they could finally talk properly, "Then I’ll head back now, sorry for disturbing tonight."

In the end, she didn’t even glance at Cooper Coldson as she left with Noah Coldson.

Cooper Coldson went downstairs quickly, watching Isabella Ross, "Why didn’t you stop elder brother?"

Isabella Ross, bewildered, "Stop what?"

"Now that Yolanda and I are divorced, aren’t you worried that she might get too close to elder brother?"

Isabella Ross laughed lightly, "Don’t worry; your elder brother knows his limits. Alright, it’s late, you should rest now, I’m also going to sleep."

Cooper Coldson watched Isabella Ross leave, feeling something odd.

The attitude of his elder brother, the attitude of Isabella Ross, he had a vague sense that something unknown to him had happened.
