Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Melissa Greenwood Personally Investigates at the Women’s Maternity Hospital

Yolanda Greenwood had never seen such a distraught Lola Gold; she panicked instantly.

"Lola, what’s wrong? What did Sunny say? Stop crying, please don’t cry."

Lola Gold didn’t want to worry Yolanda Greenwood, but she couldn’t control her tears and could only say in fits and starts, "Yolanda, don’t...don’t bother with me, let...let me cry for a while."

"Cry if you need to, just cry." Yolanda Greenwood hugged Lola Gold, patting her back repeatedly.

The two stayed in this secluded place for nearly half an hour before Lola Gold finally calmed down.

"Yolanda, I’ve decided, I want to leave Gray City."

"Leave?" Yolanda Greenwood had also considered it recently; after her divorce from Cooper Coldson, she was sure she had to hide her pregnancy, so she would definitely have to leave.

She just hadn’t expected Lola Gold would want to leave too, "What about your mother..."

"I want to take her back to our hometown." Clearly, in that half-hour, Lola Gold had thought a lot, "Yolanda, come with us."

Lola Gold’s hometown was in Ully Town, an especially beautiful town in River South, with great mountains and waters, perfect for nourishing both body and spirit.

"Okay, I’ll leave with you." Yolanda Greenwood agreed quickly.

She also reminded Lola Gold, "Oh right, when we leave, don’t let Noah know."

"Why?" Lola Gold frowned in confusion, "Actually, I think Noah is a good person. If you had fallen in love with him back then, you would definitely be happy now."

Yolanda Greenwood smiled bitterly and shook her head, "I’ve never met him; how could there be unprovoked kindness? It’s all because..."

She placed her hand on her abdomen, "But if I divorce Cooper, will he still protect me? What I fear more is that he might harm the babies."

"Indeed." Lola Gold nodded in agreement.

She had always been worried that Yolanda Greenwood would trust Noah Coldson too much, but it seemed Yolanda had figured it out long ago.

After all, having been through so much, she and Yolanda were no longer their former selves.

After discussing their plans, they began to prepare separately, agreeing to leave in a week.

Lola Gold didn’t mention what exactly Sunny had said, but Yolanda knew it must have been extremely hurtful words, so she didn’t ask further.

Meanwhile, after leaving the café, Sunny called Melissa Greenwood.

"You’ve got it wrong, Lola hasn’t gotten pregnant."

"Is that so?" Melissa Greenwood explained, clearly embarrassed, "But Cooper really did see Yolanda and..."

She stopped abruptly at the thought of a certain possibility.

Sunny hung up, having achieved her goal.

In fact, she had learned from Christopher Coldson yesterday that the pregnant one wasn’t Lola Gold. She hadn’t wanted to get involved, but obviously, the two girls were very close, which is why Melissa Greenwood approached her.

Melissa Greenwood used her as a pawn, but she didn’t mind switching roles with her.

It was intriguing to consider if Yolanda really was pregnant.

Melissa Greenwood went straight to the Women’s Maternity Hospital after hanging up, and by hook or by crook, found Yolanda Greenwood’s primary doctor.

It turned out Yolanda had chosen the ace of the hospital; she really was willing to spend money.

With that thought, Melissa Greenwood grew even more suspicious that Yolanda might truly be pregnant.

"Dr. Hall, hello, I’m Yolanda’s cousin," she said with feigned concern, "Has her recent prenatal checkup gone smoothly?"

Melissa Greenwood watched Dr. Ivy Hall nervously, sweat forming in her palms.

Logically, Yolanda shouldn’t be able to get pregnant. Could there be some trouble?

Dr. Hall, who appeared to be in her forties and wore rimless glasses, looked imposing and authoritative.

She looked up at Melissa Greenwood and handed over a patient file, "Smoothly? With her constitution, forget about getting pregnant."

Melissa’s eyes brightened at these words, she flipped through the file, finding that Yolanda was only being treated for body conditioning.

Dr. Hall continued, "If it weren’t for a friend’s request, I would’ve advised her not to waste her time."

"Dr. Hall, thank you very much for your help." Melissa felt a surge of elation.

However, as soon as she left the office, Dr. Hall made a phone call.

"Noah, a woman claiming to be Yolanda’s cousin just came by, and she seemed very interested in Yolanda’s pregnancy."

Noah Coldson’s expression darkened.

Dr. Hall added, "I’ve given her the forged medical records as you instructed before, telling her that Yolanda will have difficulty getting pregnant."

"Okay, I understand, thanks, Sister Hall." Noah thanked her repeatedly, confirming the woman’s appearance with Dr. Hall, and soon confirmed that it was indeed Melissa Greenwood who visited the hospital.

He had previously arranged with Dr. Hall to conceal any inquiries about Yolanda’s pregnancy.

Actually, Noah hadn’t expected Melissa to be the one to show up; he was worried that Cooper Coldson might notice something was amiss.

He long suspected that Melissa Greenwood was no simple woman.

Without delay, Noah went straight to Coldson Group, looking for Cooper Coldson.

Cooper found it strange that Noah, who had always been averse to the family business, took the initiative to come to the office for the first time.

"Big brother," he raised an eyebrow, "what brings you here?"

"Cooper, do you really need to marry that Melissa Greenwood?" Noah asked, his expression grave.

Cooper let out a low chuckle, "I truly don’t understand, big brother, you’re so indifferent to family, why suddenly show so much concern for my marriage? Why?"

"Answer me!" Noah said sternly, "Do you truly understand Melissa? Do you know what kind of woman she is?"

Cooper crossed his arms, "It seems big brother knows something."

"That woman is manipulative, two-faced, she doesn’t deserve to be a part of the Coldson family!" Noah Coldson declared emphatically.

"Big brother, please take back those words." Cooper noticeably bristled.

Noah was slightly surprised, "Cooper, do you really like that woman? Why?"

He felt undervalued on behalf of Yolanda, "As far as I know, you’ve been married for a year, and Yolanda has always been dutifully by your side, yet due to some misunderstandings, you’ve wronged her. Cooper, while there’s still time, before Yolanda gives up on you completely, turn back now!"

"How can I turn back?" Cooper suddenly erupted.

Noah was puzzled, "Why can’t you turn back? Could it be that Melissa also..."

He caught himself just in time and changed his words, "Could it be that Melissa is pregnant?"

Cooper, not noticing the change in his words, collapsed back onto the sofa with a wry smile, "Big brother, I have no choice, this is a debt we owe her."

"What do you mean?" Noah grew more confused.

He had never known Melissa; where did the question of being indebted come from?

Cooper pinched the bridge of his nose, "Big brother, have you really forgotten about that incident before you went abroad?"

Noah’s face went visibly pale.
