Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Report to the Higher-ups Immediately (4)

"Arrange a new accommodation for her; we can’t let her stay in the barracks forever, or we won’t find her when we need her."

"Let her live with us, in our Academician District. That way she can be with us every day."

"She must be kept in sight; wherever we go, she has to come with us."

"Exactly, she takes us to the Otherworld, and on Blue Star, we take her."

"But in our district, only direct family members, property management, and staff are allowed to live there, so we need to arrange a new identity for her."

"The living arrangements are actually quite simple. I remember there are a few vacancies in the staff apartments, right? Let her pick one."

"Her identity is simple too. She can use a computer and type, right? Let her be our Junior Archivist, helping us to digitize our handwritten notes."

"We are all experts in the field of mushrooms. How about merging the existing teams into one, and Ye Nai joins as a new employee?"

"Yes, we can form a new project group. We don’t need to move any existing personnel, and the only newcomer will be Ye Nai, which maintains the highest confidentiality."

"Yes, yes, no problem."

"With her following us, her safety is also guaranteed, as each of us comes with our own security."

"She herself is quite capable in combat. In the Otherworld, we will rely on her protection."

The academicians, ignoring the other leaders present, began discussing amongst themselves. In just a few words, they really came up with a feasible plan.

Then, the academicians turned their heads, their eyes slowly passing over the faces of the leaders present.

"Leaders, is this arrangement acceptable?"

"Yes, your arrangements are undoubtedly the most appropriate."

"Then leadership, the project funding needs to be in place quickly. A Junior Archivist with space storage ability should have a monthly salary of 8,000, but that’s just for show. We can’t really pay just 8,000."

"No problem; take the 8,000 salary first, and the other allowances and benefits will be arranged."

None of the leaders present objected.

"As long as you have no objections, we’ll take care of the kid," the academicians said, with a tone of responsibility.

"Since time is tight, let’s quickly arrange the third meeting. We should get to the Otherworld as soon as possible to cultivate mushrooms," the academicians urged excitedly.

"Can these Translation Mushrooms really let one understand the language of the Otherworldly after just one meal?" Speaking of Translation Mushrooms, the academicians sought confirmation again, with a responsible attitude.

"Absolutely true. My subordinates from the Combat Department, Staff Department, and Logistics Department have all personally experienced it. In the span of one meal, they mastered a language, but vocabulary needs daily accumulation; besides, it’s also a common food ingredient."

The Defense Director explained in detail to the academicians.

"Here are two large bags of Translation Mushrooms. One bag is for you, so you’ll be able to communicate with the locals in the Otherworld."

Upon hearing these words, the academicians’ eyes immediately lit up.

"But there are two bags on the table; only one bag is for us?" The academicians looked eagerly at the other bag.

"This bag is for the Government Affairs Office. We also need to assign civil servants to handle communication and coordination between both sides, right?" The Chairman quickly hugged one of the bags, feeling that otherwise, the academicians might directly grab it.

"Fine, fine, we won’t compete with you. When Ye Nai arrives, we’ll have as many as we want," the academicians said with a bit of pride.

"Exactly, exactly," the Chairman nodded repeatedly in agreement.

"Then today’s meeting concludes here. Please give us the report; we’ll read it ourselves when we return."

Having reached this point, the academicians were no longer patient enough to sit there listening to the report.

"Please inform the young lady not to worry, we’ll arrange her accommodation as soon as we return, and she can move in within a day or two."

"Alright, alright."

The academicians, with hectic work and a decisive nature, had no habit of procrastination, swiftly left without delay.

After sending off the academicians, the doors of the confidential meeting room closed again, and everyone began closed-door discussions.

The nine senior leaders, along with the Defense Director and the Chairman, reminded each other during this brief meeting to promptly prepare for the third meeting after arranging a new residence for Ye Nai, fearing the academicians’ impatience might cause changes.

The Director of the Government Affairs Office even proposed, during the small meeting, to provide Ye Nai with academician-level treatment and a work stipend from the Government Affairs Office, which was successfully approved.

After the meeting concluded, all matters quickly progressed.

An hour later, in the barracks guesthouse, Ye Nai lay on the guest room bed browsing her phone, when suddenly a call came with an unfamiliar landline number displayed.

Ye Nai pressed the answer button.

"Hello, good day?"

A gentle voice came from the other side of the phone: "Hello, may I speak with Ms. Ye Nai?"

"Yes, it’s me. Who are you?"

"Hello, Ms. Ye Nai, this is the Office of the Director of Government Affairs. At the recently concluded important meeting, the Director recognized your outstanding performance and significant contributions in your work and proposed to grant you academician treatment and issue a Government Affairs Office work stipend. It is the nation’s recognition and support for your enthusiastic commitment to critical work, hoping you continue to strive for greater contributions to the country’s development and progress."

Ye Nai listened, first stunned, then spoke again after two seconds.

"Sorry, I was a bit excited just now. Work stipend, alright, I understand. What’s my next step?"

"Next, you need to log in to the National Stipend Management Office’s website, fill out your personal information and bank details. I will send you a link and along with it a verification code. Tell me that eight-digit number to confirm that you received the genuine information."

"Alright."

Within ten seconds, a text message popped up on Ye Nai’s phone, containing a website link and an eight-digit verification code.

After reporting the verification code to the person on the other end of the line, the call ended.

Ye Nai quickly got up, first clicking the website link in the text message, which took her to a very simple page.

What she needed was the full URL displayed on her mobile browser.

She copied the URL, pasted it in the Awakener software to send herself a private message, then took out her computer, went to the Awakener website, and clicked on that link from the private message to reopen that simple website on her computer.

Register, log in, photograph verification and archiving, and finally fill out the information, all done in one go.

After completing everything, she immediately received an internal website notification, informing her that the work stipend was 20,000 and tax-free, issued on the 5th of each month, and if any personal information changes, she needs to update it promptly on the website.

Ye Nai, full of joy, happily threw herself back on the bed, anticipating receiving her first Government Affairs Office work stipend on August 5th.
