Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking -
Chapter 657 657: The Architect's Inheritance, Scarlet VIP
--
Books about architecture and engineering were a given because it's Columbus' account. There were special tools here too. But of course, this barely scratches the surface of the actual inheritance he left for Cedric.
The first thing he noticed were 15 rich and overflowing mines. They are stuffed to the brim so that one could even visibly make out their contents just by looking at the entrance. If even one of these were to appear in some random, low-ranked world, it would be enough to sustain them for tens of thousands of years without damaging its quality.
Then, there were other natural resources...
It wouldn't be wrong to say that Architect Columbus left him an entire cosmos' worth of resources, untouched and preserved until his arrival. There was so much in here that it would take him days to take full inventory of it.
And this doesn't even include the material possessions like artifacts, blueprints, weapons, armor, treasures, etc.
To top this all off, Cedric also inherited more than 100,000 Scarlet Bangles.
According to what he learned, Scarlet Bangles were a type of currency only Scarlet VIP accounts can earn, and it's also incredibly hard to earn them. He also learned that the initial deposit wasn't this much; it grew this much because of the passive interest rate, an additional benefit to having a Scarlet VIP account.
Architect Columbus set up proper measures for this inheritance, and his arrangements were honored by the Golden Bangle Bank. Since Cedric was able to open this account using credentials that only the architect and the bank knew, it meant he was indeed the rightful inheritor of this account according to the architect's arrangements. Of course, there were hidden aspects to this, but it's no longer important since Cedric met all of it.
To say that Cedric just got rich would be an understatement. A Scarlet VIP was a rare sight to any branch of the bank, and all of them, regardless of identity or background, are deeply respected and catered to by the bank's staff.
It's because of this that the lady's eyes went strange upon looking at him. She must've never imagined that today would be the day she'd meet a Scarlet VIP. Cedric has no idea what this means for her professionally, but he sure hopes it's a good thing.
Cedric was overwhelmed after taking a general inventory of the riches he inherited. He couldn't help but smile wryly as he thought that the architect must've left the entire inheritance of the Divine Bloods to him, because even the blueprints of the Phantasmal Furnace, the ones that Columbus himself designed, were also here.
In a span of an hour, Cedric went from a stranger to no less than a shareholder of the bank. He could vaguely feel the eyes of the staff converging on him, yet none of them acted recklessly or excessively; they maintained proper distance and were attentive, ready to cater to his needs.
Cedric did his best to remain indifferent to all of this, but he also knows that it's impossible. The architect simply left him so much that he doesn't even know where to start.
"Congratulations on upgrading your account, sir." The lady who was assisting him sounded more respectful, professional, and enthusiastic now. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"...my identity here, it should be no problem anymore, right? And I assume that it won't be limited to the bank alone?"
"That's right, sir," she confirmed. "As a Scarlet VIP, your identity is incredibly important to us, and since we, at the Golden Bangle Bank, operate universally, your identity is valid at every location that our bank could reach. Of course, there might be some special occasions here and there, but generally, as long as they can confirm their inquiries about you with us, then your identification would remain valid."
"That's great. Thank you." Cedric smiled. "Also, can you recommend a temporary abode for me? Like I said, I'm new here, and I'm a bit overwhelmed still. I'd like to take a short rest."
"Certainly!" The lady enthusiastically replied. She then took out a brochure and showed a certain page to Cedric.
"This is one of the amenities we offer to our customers. It's a cave heaven filled with all the necessities you might need. It's equipped with an S-grade Spiritual Vein, privacy arrays, and protective formations to keep our customers safe and secure."
"The usual charge is 100,000 bangles per day, but for you, dear VIP, it's free of charge. You can also enjoy a 50% discount on all resource replenishment."
After saying this, a group of five men wearing the same uniform as she had appeared behind her like ghosts. Cedric had already detected their approach before they even appeared, but he knew they didn't have any ill intent, so he didn't say anything.
Instead, the men wore solemn and respectful faces when they met him, and all collectively bowed as soon as they appeared.
"These kind and professional men will escort you to the location, sir. They can also serve as your bodyguards for the remainder of your stay in the Fallen Heaven Realm."
Then, she also handed him a card that had the contact information of the Golden Bangle Bank, one that only certain members can use.
"If you need help with anything, please don't hesitate to contact us using this code. We will do our best to fulfill your wishes. We value your support, and you'll always be welcome here, sir. Please have a good rest."
The lady too stood and respectfully bowed to him.
"Mn, thank you for your help. I appreciate it a lot. I'll be on my way, then."
Before he could even leave his seat, his bodyguards were already moving and paving the way for him. Cedric nodded to them and followed them to the location of the cave heaven.
As he left the premises, he vaguely sensed the commotion behind him. The lady who helped collapsed in her seat and was then approached by her envious but excited colleagues. They obviously already knew what happened, and they kept telling her that she hit the jackpot today.
'She'd probably receive a generous bonus for this. That's good. At least she's not reprimanded instead.'
Cedric barely paid attention to the road; he had already delegated one of his many thought chambers for that. His main focus was on the hints and clues that had been ticking at the back of his head because of the sudden change in his identity.
This was the subtle divination at work. It's not that he's actively divining the future or something, but because of his great achievements, insights were coming to him naturally.
He could vaguely see some events converging around him. He heard his name being uttered in the present and in the future. He felt the attention of several forces converging on him. Some were surprised or shocked; others remained mostly indifferent.
Cedric was briefly surprised with how fast news traveled here, especially since it wasn't limited to this world or this Chaos Realm for that matter. Then again, this was the Primitive Universe, and the influence of the Golden Bangle Bank was just that great, so it was normal.
His new identity wasn't in jeopardy. At most, these people were just probing and curious. If they truly held any ill intent, Cedric will know. And if he knew, then the strong people from the bank will also know, and they will deal with that for him since he's their VIP no matter what.
Cedric learned all of this from the subtle hints he tied together from his divination laws.
It didn't take long before they came to the Cave Heaven Complex. It's located on the upper floors of the bank. The entrance to it was an ordinary-looking door, which turned out to be hiding a secret realm.
The secret realm was a massive world that's filled with concentrated spiritual energy. There's so much in here that manual breathing alone was beneficial to one's life evolution, and the quality wasn't bad either.
"The Cave Heaven Complex is this way, sir. Feel free to choose any of the unoccupied ones."
It's not that hard to identify which cave heavens were occupied from those that are not. On the wall next to the entrance of the particular cave heaven, then, is a small bulb that either displays a red or green light. Red means occupied, and green means unoccupied.
Under the bulb was a biometric scanner. It requires thumbprint and right eye scans for occupancy. Once that's done, Cedric could now use the cave heaven as he pleases.
Once inside, three of his bodyguards remained outside. The two who followed him inside didn't go too far either; they remained near the entrance and stood there like statues.
Cedric ignored them and scanned the cave heaven. Although it's called a 'cave,' the interior was far from it since it looked like a high-tech and classy penthouse. But should Cedric want a more rustic or realistic environment, all he needs to do is to modify the interior design through the system to do so.
But Cedric had no interest in doing that. Instead, he sat down on the couch and sighed in comfort.
'Not bad for my first day at the Primitive Universe.'
