Chapter 654: Immortal Level; First Steps in the Primitive Universe
--
Since the conclusion of the architect’s mystery, Cedric went back and forth to his temporary base and the office.
His main goal was to still complete his synchronization with the Primitive Universe and become a genuine Immortal Level evolver. Whenever he felt like it, he would return to the office and continue learning using the books the architect left behind.
These books not only offered him a treasure trove of knowledge, but they also upgraded his skills indirectly by introducing him to varying ways to approach a problem. Everything that he’s picking up here will be useful once he begins his adventures in the Primitive Universe, even though it makes his brain ache with how complicated they are.
The direct benefit of all this studying was his richer understanding of the maze and the astrolabe. It’s not complete yet, but he had the foundations, at least.
This maze no longer feels alien to him. He could now recognize the mechanisms that the architect used to create. As he became more familiar with it, he could even start predicting how the maze would change the next time. He also could somewhat understand how the architect was able to make the astrolabe work within The Null. But again, all he had so far was just an initial understanding of everything, meaning that the real skill and intelligence of the architect were still beyond him.
But he wasn’t in a hurry. He could continue learning at his own pace. It’s not like he had a deadline. Besides, he will take all of these books with him when it’s time for him to leave this place, so it’s no big deal even if he takes it slow.
With the Mystic Astrolabe anchoring and suppressing the expansion of the Null, Cedric’s heart was at ease. With this, he could leave the death zone with peace of mind in the future, knowing that his home wouldn’t be harmed by anything and his family would be safe.
Of course, this wasn’t a permanent solution. One day, he’d take out his family, and maybe the whole Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm, out of the prison and the death zone to settle somewhere in the Primitive Universe.
But that’s a matter for his future self to deal with. Right now, his focus was to reach his immediate goal and take his first steps to the Primitive Universe first.

Time flowed unimpeded. Cedric lost a sense of it as he continued his routine.
Currently, he doesn’t even have the mental capacity to calculate just how much time has passed since the last time he paid attention because right now, his focus is concentrated on what’s happening to him.
Standing amidst the ruins, Cedric’s eyes looked dull as he stared up at the vast blanket of stars. There were a myriad of manifestations occurring around him, and within, even more profound changes were taking place.
His final synchronization was here, and it demanded his full attention.
Cedric could feel his entire being sublimating to a whole other level. Elements danced around him, seemingly congratulating him for this advancement. Hymns and rhythms of Great Laws rang in his mind, submerging his consciousness into the deep sea of its profoundness.
Cedric spared enough attention to have his clones secure the premises, making sure that this synchronization wouldn’t be interrupted by anybody.
His Inner World didn’t expand anymore since it had already reached the maximum size for the Immortal Realm. In fact, it shouldn’t even be this big since he’s only stepping into the Immortal Warrior Realm, yet the size of his Inner World was comparable to those who reached the Immortal Emperor Realm. Any further expansion would happen once he reaches the Heavenly Venerate Realm.
But, even though his Inner World didn’t see any expansion, it had an increase in quality. Not much, but enough to be noticeable. With this upgrade, he could use origin energy more efficiently in the future. His spells and skills will be stronger without draining more energy as he uses them.
Because of the manifestations around him, Cedric had to step out of his home for this. He didn’t want to risk destabilizing his home because of his breakthrough; if he accidentally endangered his family because of hindsight, he’d never be able to forgive himself. That’s why he came out just for this.
As the final wave of changes within him ebbed away and the manifestations disappeared, Cedric opened his eyes and released a sigh.
The corners of his lips tugged into a smile, feeling the calm yet deep power within him. At the same time, a deep sense of belonging and normalcy settled within him.
This was a sign that the Primitive Universe now acknowledges him. It won’t alienate him anymore. He’s no longer any different from any human being that was born here.
As soon as his transformation ended, Cedric’s clones appeared next to him. The feedback of his transformation descended upon them too since they’re part of him.
Both clones also turned into Immortal Warriors at the same time, and they carried 90% of his overall power. With his connection with them, they almost couldn’t be differentiated from the real body; only Cedric himself could identify that.
With this, though, his goal here has been achieved.
Leaving his clones behind, the main body returned home to continue as usual while the clones received orders.
No, they won’t leave for the exit point right away. They still need to stabilize their skills after the breakthrough, consolidating the strength boost they just received from out of nowhere.
And even after that, Cedric will only send one of his clones out to test the waters. Cedric was in no hurry to discover everything at once; he will take his time and will make sure to prioritize his safety first before everything.
If it’s not all necessary, the main body wouldn’t even step out of the death zone. His clones will pave the way for him, and he’d only make a move once he’s sure that everything was secured.

It didn’t take long for the consolidation to finish, just about a week or so.
Once it was done, one of Cedric’s clones began preparing for the trip. It carried sufficient wealth and resources before heading for the exit zone.
Standing in front of the exit zone, the familiar pull of it made him pause once more. But unlike last time, Cedric didn’t turn back from it. Instead, he had one of his clones walk right in while the other paid attention.
As expected, the entry was smooth and not at all dangerous. The tunnel was stable, very stable, in fact, so much so that it felt like he was going on a water slide. It didn’t collapse or become distorted; it remained as is, like he didn’t use it at all.
Cedric’s main focus was now concentrated on the clone that’s travelling very far from his reach.
This distance between them grew so much that it’s quite frankly alarming. The only reason why Cedric remained perfectly calm was because he had already seen this coming. Moreover, his connection with his clone transcends distance. Despite being so very far from each other, the feedback happened in real time because of the soul connection between the main body and the clone.
Cedric enjoyed the experience of sliding out of the space tunnel, something that he’d never thought he’d ever say, yet here he is.
Before long, he saw the other end of the tunnel. He mentally prepared himself for what’s about to come.
With a loud pop, Cedric’s clone slipped out of the tunnel, which disappeared behind him. Well, not really disappeared, more like hid, though he could still sense it.
But his attention wasn’t on the tunnel. Instead, it was on the environment around him.
It felt surreal, yet here he was, finally, at the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm—one of the giant clusters in the entire Primitive Universe.
He was dazed, feeling momentarily overwhelmed by the raw and dense essence of the universe around him. He felt this while he was inside the death zone; it wasn’t this heavy and real. Then again, the death zone was a hostile and uninhabitable place, all things considered, so this was to be expected.
Excitement, awe, and anticipation filled his heart as he thought of the possibilities. Yet on the outside, he remained eerily calm, stoic even.
Cedric took in everything he saw, drinking in the sights around him greedily and committing them to his memory. He even left a soul mark on the spatial tunnel that’s now hidden so that he could locate it again in the future.
Then, out of nowhere, he raised an eyebrow because he felt a presence appearing nearby, and he could already sense depravity and hostility in their auras.
"Well, hello there, brother!" A loud voice greeted him as if to interrupt his reverie.
Cedric already saw the man, but he still turned around to take a look. There, he saw a man—a human—wearing a roguish attire and a crooked grin. He held a large machete in his right hand and was flanked by two equally roguish humans as well.
"It’s rare to see people around these parts. Are you lost?"
