Chapter 496: Chapter 466: Trial of the Priest Class (Part 3)
After successfully job transferring, Moonlight Jasmine returned to the rendezvous point with Caesar—the Central Square.
When she arrived, Caesar had already been waiting for quite some time.
This male Druid player saw her and exclaimed excitedly,
“Moli, Moli, did you see that? If you choose Priest as your primary job, the experience required for upgrading is reduced by two-thirds! This way, I can catch up with you faster!”
“I’ve reached silver rank, let’s talk when you’re level 40.”
“…”
Caesar gave Moonlight Jasmine a resentful glance, chuckled awkwardly, and said,
“Shall we go? Complete the trial quest in the Oros Half-plane together? Did you accept the quest? Heh heh heh, there’s a little surprise when accepting the quest!”
Surprise?
Moonlight Jasmine looked at him curiously.
“Hold on, I haven’t accepted it yet.”
After saying this, Moonlight Jasmine turned around and looked again at the World Tree behind the square.
She prayed softly again and returned to the job transfer interface.
The Priest’s trial quest wasn’t accepted from an NPC, but chosen from the job transfer interface.
When Moonlight Jasmine chose to accept the trial, she faintly sensed a blur as if she saw a holy figure seated on a divine throne.
It was the Goddess Eve.
The Goddess seemed to smile slightly at her, and that ethereal, sacred voice echoed in her ears:
“Chosen One, I wish you success in completing the trial and becoming my walker on earth.”
The vision changed, and Moonlight Jasmine returned to reality.
She understood what Caesar meant by ‘surprise.’ It must be “seeing” the Goddess when accepting the trial.
Unlike other players who were fanatical about the Goddess, she quite liked this NPC but wasn’t as fervent.
Nonetheless, she did appreciate the view.
“Let’s go, I’ve accepted it. Let’s head to the Oros Half-plane.”
She turned to Caesar and said.
“Alright!”
…
The Teleportation Array between Cenolan and the Chosen City had already been constructed.
Thus, the two quickly teleported over.
With the new version update, there were countless players interested in the Priest profession. When Moonlight Jasmine and Caesar arrived, Cenolan was already a sea of people…
Even the Teleportation Gate to the Oros Half-plane required queuing.
“This is too much, isn’t it? Why are there so many people?!”
Caesar was dumbfounded.
“The new profession allows for dual jobs… After all, there’s no downside to having another job; everyone definitely wants to try it out. Plus, the Priest’s healing and protection are very useful.”
Moonlight Jasmine said.
Although they hadn’t played as Priests, they’d seen the Priest skills of Alice and other NPCs, which many envied.
Whether it was the resurrection-like [Holy Healing] or the mass healing [The Healing Spirit], they all made players green with envy.
Not to mention the variety of Divine Arts buffs!
One could say the Priest profession perfectly combined all the benefits of a support Druid and a healing Druid, and even enhanced them.
Thus, it was only natural for players to aspire to it.
Moonlight Jasmine and Caesar queued for nearly twenty minutes before finally entering the Oros Half-plane through the Space Gate.
With Eve becoming the master of the half-plane, she had altered the Teleportation Gate’s coordinates.
The players’ arrival point was no longer mid-air in the forest but the Creation Temple being rebuilt in Segis City.
Of course, it was no longer called the Creation Temple but the Life Temple.
After half a month, the natives of the Oros World seemed to have gotten used to the constant arrival of the elves.
Many would still refer to the players as lords of the Divine Race.
However, under the correction and guidance of Divine Favored Ail and others, the name of elves was becoming more familiar to the masses.
People here regarded the elves as divine envoys from the upper realm and showed them great reverence.
This respect even made many players uncomfortable.
Like Moonlight Jasmine.
She and Caesar walked through the city and felt a bit uneasy seeing every person they met stopping to bow…
The trial quest for changing to Priest was quite simple.
In essence, it involved finding a few NPCs in the city and helping them with some tasks.
The NPCs included former followers of the Creation God Sect, impoverished citizens, retired guards, and elders researching the history of the Oros Half-plane.
Of course, Moonlight Jasmine and others didn’t know that these NPCs were different from others; they were genuine NPCs.
Eve had created them specifically for this trial.
The trial content wasn’t complicated: helping these NPCs while listening to their stories.
In reality, these NPCs created by Eve didn’t exist; when players entered the designated locations, they entered a mental world constructed by Eve, much like entering a “PK virtual space.”
These NPCs were products of the mental world.
Of course, players couldn’t notice this and would think they were still in the game’s reality.
Eve did this to solve the difficulties of mass players completing tasks simultaneously.
The mental world allowed players to complete the trial together, whereas, if real NPCs were made in Segis City, players would have to complete the tasks one by one.
After all… You can’t exactly make players queue up to listen to stories for the job trial, right?
That’d be too inefficient.
After searching for a while, Moonlight Jasmine and Caesar finally arrived at the first designated location.
“Story again… I hate stories the most, can’t we skip this…”
Moonlight Jasmine said impatiently.
“Bear with it, it is a trial task after all, and ‘Elf Kingdom’ never skips storylines. You might as well try… just treat it as a break.”
Caesar comforted her from the side.
Moonlight Jasmine listened and reluctantly accepted it.
The trial task wasn’t difficult; it involved helping move things, fixing houses, or taking care of the NPCs.
However, during this process, players would listen to stories from the NPCs.
Moonlight Jasmine wasn’t interested in storytelling.
Throughout, she was distracted, actually surfing the web for Weapon Warrior guides…
In their team, it was Caesar who guided the trial task.
There was no choice; Moonlight Jasmine just didn’t enjoy doing tasks. Though she initially said she’d guide him, but…
Each to their own specialty!
Since Caesar enjoyed it, she might as well let him handle it.
Anyway, after job transfer, she’d guide him in return.
Their trial went smoothly.
Or rather, with Caesar leading, it proceeded well.
However, while Moonlight Jasmine was browsing the forums and following Caesar, she inadvertently noticed that Caesar, who had been chatting excitedly, grew silent as the trial progressed.
“What’s up? Not in a good mood?”
She asked.
“Sigh… The story of this trial task is too moving. Knowing the origin of this half-plane, how could I possibly feel good.”
Caesar sighed.
After speaking, he sighed slightly,
“Aorus… truly was a great hero!”
Aorus? Hero?
Moonlight Jasmine furrowed her brows.
She knew who Aorus was — the BOSS of the “Heart of Life” quest line, a demigod who betrayed the Goddess and the creator of this half-plane.
But… how did he become a hero?
Wasn’t he a fallen evil god tainted by abyssal power?
*Did she… miss something, like story content?*
She was a little curious.
But, despite her curiosity, her somewhat awkward nature made her say,
“Is it really that bad? It’s just a story.”
Caesar glanced at her, a bit speechless,
“Moli, you were definitely zoning out during the trial, weren’t you?”
“Uh…”
Moonlight Jasmine felt slightly embarrassed.
Caesar sighed,
“You should check out the story; the storyline you just passed in the trial task includes a summary that tells the origin of this half-plane and Aorus’s story.”
“Otherwise, it might affect the trial evaluation.”
Listening to Caesar, Moonlight Jasmine hesitated a bit, but eventually opened the interface and pulled up the record.
And at first glance, she saw that somewhat familiar line:
“For the return of the Divine Crown, I am willing to pay any price.”
