Chapter 725 - 725: Behind closed doors Part 2

When the sun set, all the houses turned on their lights making the town look far more lively that it was during the day. Hunters came and went carrying tools, weapons and hauling items from one place to another and each of them carried a gas lantern which surprised Nika since the lightseekers posed a threat even to experienced hunters, though for some odd reason they didn't show up.

Once it became darker, Luna and Nika dressed in black clothes and went upstairs silent as a mouse to try and listen to whatever was going on inside Elara's room. Despite their enhanced senses, though, they failed to hear anything which meant the room was most likely sound proofed. This worked in their favor, since it meant they were able to speak without the fear of being spotted.

"Should we bash the door down or something?" Nika asked.

"We should knock, it's the polite thing to do." Luna said.

"And give them time to get dressed!? Who cares about being polite, this is a cover ops."

"But... what if they are having intercourse? I don't want to see my mother doing that kind of thing. Why don't you just blink in there and tell me what do you see?"

"That is precisely why we're here. If you didn't want to come then you shouldn't have taken the bet. Besides, I doubt you'll take my word for it so the only way to prove to you that they're up to no good is if you see it with your own eyes."

"What are you guys doing?" Cassandra asked blank faced, her eyes were empty of emotion and though she asked a question not a hint of curiosity showed up.

"We are about to break into your mom's room to see if they're shagging." Nika said with mischief.

"Alright, have fun." Cassandra went back to her room.

"She's acting weird too... do you think it's possible that Elara is somehow controlling her mind?" Nika asked in a hushed voice.

"I wouldn't put it beyond her, her morals are subpar. But is such a thing even possible?"

"If you're saying that then she must be outright evil!" Nika gasped too loudly and quickly covered her mouth with both hands.

"Not really, It's hard to explain, but you have to understand that she's a lycanthrope just like me. Just because she would be willing to control people around her doesn't mean she's able to." Luna explained and Nika's eyes widened in shock.

She had noticed there were many oddities about the town, but the thought that there could be an entire town could be controlled by just one person made her feel unsafe and shiver in fear. Suddenly, the peaceful townsmen, the cute houses and even the patients on the clinic didn't seem so friendly anymore.

"I've had enough of this place, let's go in." Nika said, but Luna tugged on her clothes.

"We have yet to define the parameters of our bet."

"Right... the bet. If they are doing 'adult things' it will be my win and you'll have to pack up your stuff and come with us tonight."

"And if they're training, I want you to convince Uriel to let me study him for my research." Luna nodded and took impulse to break through the door, though Nika blocked her way.

"Hang on a second, I can't promise you that. I mean, I can try, but I can't say if he'll cooperate. You know how stubborn he is." Nika awkwardly said.

"That is unacceptable. I am yet to become stronger and don't want to leave this place until I do. I've been learning so much about lycanthropy, traits and medicine... It's only fair I ask you something hard to do."

"It's not just hard, I'm afraid what you're asking me will be impossible." Nika said, already knowing what would Uriel's answer be to Luna's request.

"Then the bet is off." Luna said with disinterest.

"Come on, I need to get out of this town, but I won't go if that means leaving you behind," Nika pouted. "Is there really nothing else that you want? I have an idea, what if I help you in your research? I'm not that great with books but I'll make a nice test subject. It would only be until you figure out what happened to me after Medusa petrified me, of course."

"That... uhm... that would work." Luna nodded and then the two of them bashed at the door at the same time slamming it open with a loud noise that echoed throughout the house. What they saw inside the room left them both slack jawed.

The fact that Luna showed an emotion in such a fashion was already a rare occasion, but the fact that even Nika was surprised despite suspecting what was going on was even more rare.

"What in the seven circles of hell!?" Nika blurted out at the sight of Elara dressed in a tantalizing dominatrix attire that stuck to her skin while brandishing a whip and a shirtless Uriel with deep wounds on his back.

"Don't you know how to knock!?" Uriel grunted as he put on the shirt so fast it almost tore apart. The shirt became soaked in blood in contact with his wounds, though it didn't seem to bother Uriel.

"I will need extensive psychological therapy." Luna said wide eyed.

"Me too," Nika added. "I was kind of expecting something of the sorts, but this is too much even for me."

"Would you like to join? We were just about to get to the interesting part." Elara said with a squinting smile that left Nika even more discombobulated.

"That's a hard pass and I'm still waiting for an answer." Nika hissed.

"I can't hold it anymore, Elara. I need to let it out." Uriel started grunting and squirming awkwardly to which the silvery haired huntress replied by drawing near him.

"Don't you dare touch him!" Nika attempted to get in the way by blinking in the shadows, but despite her quick reflexes she couldn't make it in time since it was Uriel who reached for Elara.

"Repentance!" Uriel shouted and the room became brightly lit in blue for a glimpse of a second, then Elara's back started dripping blood in the same places Uriel was previously wounded.

"This is exhilarating! You really mastered your skill in just a couple nights!" Elara clapped her hands rapidly, not minding the jiggling movement on her chest.
