Chapter 719 - 719: Searching for Moonlight Part 3

The moment Uriel's voice reached Bella's ears she felt safer already knowing that help was on the way, though that only lasted when she felt something heavy weighing on her and she became unable to speak or breathe, rendering incapable to call for help.

She attempted to correct this by channeling flux and manipulating the air inside her tent, but she regretted it the moment her glimmering eyes lit up briefly the interior of the tent revealing the creature's unsightly visage.

The creature's face was uncannily similar to that of a human, but the features were distorted, asymmetric and wrinkled making it look deformed. Its 'mouth' opened wide at the same time Bella's glinting eyes fizzled out making the tent dark once more, then the creature emitted a choking sound as it sucked up Bella's flux energy.

She was alone with a cryptid powerful enough to immobilize her and with the ability to drain flux energy which made her feel completely powerless.

Not even her heavenly rank strength was enough to lift the creature to take it out of her and it would drain all the flux energy she attempted to channel throughout any part of her body, but the worst part came when she noticed her wind barrier didn't activate.

Bella found herself crying in the dark wishing for the ability she called a curse so many times in the past to activate. She had no control over it otherwise she would have kept it deactivated most of the times and would have been able to live a normal life.

She raked up her brain trying to think of something she could do, but she had no weapons at her disposal and even if she did, the cryptid weighted too much for her to move anything but her fingers and toes.

Time seemed to slow down as she became desperate and it became even worse when she noticed her wind barrier weakened as the cryptid continued to drain her flux energy. Now she could also feel something similar to hooks grabbing her limbs pinning her down on the ground making her a helpless victim.

'If only I didn't ask for a tent for myself.', 'If only I didn't set up my tent so far away from the others.', many similar thoughts crossed her mind until the dripping sound of the awful thing drooling on her face was all she could hear.

Unable to move or speak and feeling the disgusting touch all over her body Bella felt abused, even more so when the creature's drool seemingly pierced through her barrier. Because of how difficult it was for her to breathe she was forced to keep her mouth open causing the alien substance to invade the inside of her mouth as she desperately gurgled to avoid swallowing it.

"Bella, did you say something?" Uriel spoke from his tent and when she failed to answer, he hurried over to the front of her tent. He somewhat could feel something was odd as even the sounds of nature had disappeared, but there were no energy signatures in their vicinity which wrongly reassured him they weren't in any danger.

Still, the feeling in Uriel's gut made him exit his tent and stand in front of Bella's, though he hesitated on whether or not he should open her tent.

Due to the lack of light Uriel was unable to see the tent was already open or the disgusting creature laying on top of Bella.

'Uriel, please!' Bella thought as she attempted to scream, but no sound came out.

"Yes, I'm fine, just go to sleep." The cryptid imitated Bella's voice to perfection, causing Uriel to be relieved and Bella to become hopeless as the former retreated back to his tent.

Each passing second made Bella weaker and now her desire to give up and stop struggling overwhelmed her as she thought that perhaps that would stop her suffering.

"Hang on, you're not mad at me anymore?" Uriel asked when he noticed she sounded way too polite.

"No, I'm not. Just... go to sleep." The cryptid replied.

"Well, if you're not mad anymore, do you mind if I go in? There's something I'd like to discuss." Uriel probed.

'Yes! Come in' Bella thought as loud as she could, though they were just as silent as any inner monologue.

"Can't it wait until tomorrow? I'm tired." The cryptid's perfect imitation of her voice was enough to convince Uriel it really was Bella the one speaking to him, but there was something the cryptid didn't take into consideration. Uriel didn't care if she was tired or not and he couldn't sleep until he had an answer.

"What do you know about souls?" Asked Uriel, to which the cryptid replied without giving it a second thought.

"They are delicious."

"What did you just say?" Uriel asked as he poked his head inside Bella's tent.

"I'll tell you everything you want to know tomorrow, just let me get some sleep. I don't want to talk anymore." The cryptid corrected itself right in time, prompting Uriel to exit the tent without noticing anything strange.

At that moment that Bella lost all semblance of hope and she gave in to the disgusting touch, the heavy weight, the paralyzing grasp and even to the vile drool dripping inside her mouth and she swallowed loudly at the same time a light appeared from above the hill.

It seemed as though the sun was dawning, but since Uriel was already outside he was able to see a bright human figure that generously spread its light all over the place.

Uriel summoned Nika's figurine from his trait and dropped it on the ground in front of him, causing Nika to appear in an instant.

"I don't appreciate being woken up like this." Nika snarled thinking the light coming off from the hill was the sun to which Uriel replied by grabbing her face and forcing her to look at the source of light prompting Nika gasp as tears trickled down her face. "She's..."

"Hot, she's super hot." Uriel cut Nika short.
