Chapter 226: The Secret Plan to Seduce A King

Chapter 226: The Secret Plan to Seduce A King

"Listen, Gobomir, the humans aren’t stupid. They will use all they can to justify a war to destroy our kingdom."

Leonhardt leaned towards his knight, speaking with a hushed voice.

"You don’t look convinced, then what should we do with them?"

"Kill them."

He watched his goblin knight with a calm, affectionate gaze before patting him on the shoulder.

"If we kill everyone, then there won’t be any humans left in the world. Then we will become the ones attacked next, because the world see’s goblins as weak. Gobbomir, sometimes slaughter will only lead to destruction."

"Yes... Majesty." Gobbomir nodded slowly as he tried to understand Leohardt’s words. "Then how do we deal with them?" The intelligent goblin asked his king.

To that question, Leonhardt leaned back in his throne, closing his eyes. "Well." His tone was casual, but the weight of his words carried a deadly meaning.

"Kill those who dare challenge us, then grant a chance to those who surrender and have lost the will to fight. For the future of our people, we need a few lessons to be taught."

Gobomir adored his king, different from those tales that lingered in their shared memories and ancestry.

All monsters born from the dungeon carry a portion of knowledge and memories from previous monsters of the same race, including survival tips and combat strategies. Although the goblins couldn’t control these memories, almost all would possess a basic understanding of their race and the primary predators of their kind.

Yet this left a deep scar in all the Goblins’ minds.

After all, His Majesty is the best king.

The scene returned to the city, with the priests and people all surrounding him.

He looked down at the human whimpering before him, the blade trembling as it held back his rage. "Boy..."

After losing, Kaito’s arrogance faded.

"What?"

"Kneel." His words echoed through the city square, the weight crushing down on those around them. "Apologise to her."

"W-What?"

The moment Kaito tried to speak, Gobomir stomped down and pushed the priests aside. He gripped the boy’s wounded shoulder, causing his face to pale. "You have disrespected the lady, and this kingdom with your actions."

Gobomir’s voice boomed through the city square.

He didn’t do this for his pride or anything grand. It was all for his king and the insulted lady.

Leonhardt would never let such a thing go.

"Y-You bastard... I’m a hero... You dare..."

His eyes widened as he stared at the goblin in front of him; Gobomir’s nails sank deeper into his flesh, causing him to scream. "Do not speak about useless things. Atone for your sins." The goblin’s figure billowed with black flames.

"S-Stop, he is the anointed one!" A priest attempted to drag Gobomir away.

Woosh!

Gobomir whipped his blade past the priest’s face, slicing off a clump of hair that drifted slowly to the floor. "Do not disturb me. This punishment is not negotiable."

"P-Punishment?" Kaito stuttered as his body began to tremble; his gaze remained fixed on Gobomir’s sword.

The goblin smirked faintly before speaking loudly for everyone to hear. "Yes, now apologise to the lady!" He stepped on Kaito’s shoulder, forcing him to the ground.

"Arghhh... you fucking monster!"

Bang!

Gobomir’s fist slammed against Kaito’s head.

"I said to apologise, not to insult!"

"ARGHH!!"

With a brutal kick, the goblin sent Kaito rolling in front of Aella, who looked stunned by the sudden change in situation.

Gobomir watched Aella with a calm gaze. He understood the importance of this dark elf to his king. Although she wasn’t his lover, he could guess that would be the result.

Thus, he couldn’t make an error here.

"Apologise."

"Urg... F-Fuck you!"

Squish!

The goblin stepped on his hand until bones snapped and popped, causing Katio to howl in agony. "You will not escape until you apologise to the lady."

’Leonhardt wouldn’t allow such a thing...’

Behind him, the squires stopped the priests who made an issue about what happened.

"G-Gah... Urgggh..."

Kaito stared at the ground as he knelt. He gritted his teeth so hard that his gums bled from the force. "F-fuck you... fuck you..." His body trembled, blood pouring from his wounds.

"Sir Gobomir, if he doesn’t wish to apologise It is fine."

"Lady Aella?"

Aella moved beside him and leaned down, her eyes flashing with a strange glimmer as she faced the Hero on his knees.

Before Gobomir or Kaito could react, her knee smashed into his face from beneath his chin, causing his head to snap backwards as he flew back and rolled along the ground.

Blood splattered across the stone, mixing with the dirt as the human collapsed in a heap.

"How dare you try to use mind control magic in public, Hero? Don’t dare!" She spat on the boy before turning towards Gobomir. "This is enough, Sir Gobomir. Thank you for helping." She kicked him once more, then walked towards the trade district.

Gobomir watched silently. He couldn’t help but admire Aella’s courage and spirit.

’I will be sure to report this to His Majesty...’

"Alright, we’re done here. Take the boy and the priests into custody." He didn’t care about the human gods or what they believed in and just took all of them. "We will wait for our King’s decision."

"Sir! Yes, Sir!"

The squires stood up and saluted him before dragging away the priests and Kaito.

"..."

Gobomir watched them leave with a solemn expression; he gripped his blade and flicked it. Blood splashed the ground before he wiped the steel clean with a small cloth. "Hanz said to always clean off the blood." When he turned to leave, a round of applause and cheers erupted.

"WOOHOO!"

"The goblins are strong! That boy deserved that!"

"Don’t mess with the goblins!"

"They protected us!"

Gobomir froze at first before looking at the crowd; his gaze shifted from face to face, and then he raised a fist before leaving without saying a single word.

***

Inside the keep, Gobomir sat at his desk. Since becoming a knight, life had become more difficult, and that simple life had vanished.

He leaned against his chair with a creak. "The people cheered for me." A strange warmth spread through his chest like a pulsing heat.

"..."

He touched where his heart resided, and after several moments, a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"My King, you were right about everything."

Leonhardt gave his all to the dungeon and the monsters who served him. Gobomir and Gobbolas were the biggest beneficiaries of that attention.

He would share his wisdom and thoughts to nurture them.

When lost, he guided them.

"I should prepare the punishment for that foolish human, a hero... Can a knight become a hero?" Gobomir wondered.

***

Meanwhile, Aella pushed open the brown doors of a sparkling new inn. ’The Sleepy Kobold’ Vibrant words painted on a familiar sign, which shone with mana lights in a deep blue shade.

"Veronica are you here?" Aella called out.

No response came, but the sound of movement came from beneath the floor.

"What is that old woman doing...?"

Aella came to this city to help Veronica develop the Papilion business and work for the mercenary guild, which had relocated to the south after Arlet became stable.

"Luka City, eh?" She muttered before walking towards the bar with a frown.

’Leon isn’t here yet...’

The dark elf felt a little disappointed; a faint blush appeared on her pale cheeks as she thought about the man who changed her life. She remembered the words of her mother before shaking her head quickly. "No, let’s not think like that."

Aella leapt over the dusty bar. She landed beside Veronica, who was inspecting some bottles on a rack. The old elven mistress didn’t seem to have heard Aella’s arrival. She muttered something under her breath and continued rummaging through the shelves. "No, not enough."

"What are you doing?"

"Kya!?" The older woman shouted, dropping the bottles with a clang. "Damn it Aella!" She turned and glared at her.

Aella ignored the woman’s glare and sat down on a nearby stool. "Why are you so slow? What’s the deal with the shop being closed?"

"..."

The older woman looked at Aella for a few moments before sighing.

"I’m waiting." She spoke with a tone that implied she already knew everything.

"Waiting for what? We came here to open this shop, so let’s do it."

"You haven’t heard already, why we’re waiting?" The old elven mistress glanced at her with a look of surprise. "Leonhardt will be coming to Luka to stay for a week... he’s going to sleep here."

"Hmm?" Aella looked confused, but then noticed the bottles that rolled beside the beautiful elf. "Arum Wine, Gulan Ale? Aren’t these brewed with fruits and ingredients that..."

"SHHH!"

A finger slammed against her soft lips.

"Veronica? What’s the meaning of thi—" Aella’s voice trailed off as Veronica leaned in to whisper in her ear, her eyes shining mischievously.

"Haven’t you ever wanted to bed a powerful man?"
