Dungeon Overlord: Monster Girl Harem!
Chapter 224: Goblin Knight Vs Hero?

Chapter 224: Goblin Knight Vs Hero?

Leonhardt knew that the biggest threat to him might be the demons, but the more realistic and direct threat was the humans to the south of the basin.

To combat this, he decided to create a city, much like the dark elf outpost and growing village.

He sent Gobomir and several goblins to help Veronica, the elven mistress of the Sleepy Kobold inn, who helped him produce the Papillion wine from the sour elven wine.

Aella also planned to move to the south, knowing that Arlet had become a peaceful farming town, with the monsters in the forest used to train weak adventurers and goblins, so they no longer needed to worry.

"Phew... that man loves to overwork us."

Aella sat on the back of a wagon, her white hair blowing in the wind as they approached the south. Beside her were a pair of female ebonfire goblins trained in assassination and basic paperwork tasks. "How much longer?" Aella asked.

The older woman wearing a dark green cloak looked over at her before checking a map. "Another two hours, Miss Aella... we should be there soon." This older woman was Veronica, her creamy blonde hair tied in a neat braid.

Two of the goblins shared a glance before turning their attention back to the carriage filled with equipment, food and drink, and, of course, crates of gold for her to spruce up her new inn and bar in the trade city of Luka.

"How did he manage to con you into following him? Was it his body?" Aella teased the older elf, who didn’t respond at first but tapped her lips and smiled.

"If he offered, I would jump him in a heartbeat." Veronica wasn’t young, and she knew when to take risks. "Speaking of that, how did he get you to come with us?" She retorted, not wanting to admit her feelings and instead curious about the daughter of a rumoured battle maiden.

"The pay’s good, and he’s beautiful," Aella mumbled before leaning back and closing her eyes. "Honestly, I was getting bored at Arlet, and now he’s helping me earn a killing for our village." The thought of getting drunk off the wine brewed by the pale elves brought a smile to her face.

"True... true. Ah! It looks like we’re here."

The wagon approached the walls, and two large wooden doors opened in front of the group, revealing a bustling city.

Orcs, goblins, humans, and dark elves inhabited and populated this massive city, which could accommodate several thousand people. Even some elves were present.

"It’s... Huge!" Aella exclaimed as they moved through the city. "He built this? But it hasn’t been a month yet!?"

"Yes, our great one is a miracle maker!"

Aella looked up to see a muscular orc standing on the wall, her body almost too well sculpted that she thought it might be a man, but her huge breasts made the modest dark elf feel a sense of defeat... "Wow... the orcs all have a black fist and raven tattoo."

"Yes, it seems he has blessed them with a gift," Veronica spoke with confidence, even though she didn’t know the details herself yet. Her heart beat rapidly as she felt excitement at seeing Leonhardt again.

***

Gobomir and two squads of goblin elites entered Luka not long before Aella arrived, he had his black leather under armour, and left his goblin plate in his special item ring, this ring was custom made and bought by Leonhardt and Hanz, to allow all the goblin knights to summon their armour and weapons instantly.

’His Majesty thinking to make the ring a tattoo to avoid someone stealing it... How smart.’

From the moment he received the title of Knight and became the master of fifty squires, Gobomir started studying with the Minister of Scribes.

’Is that girl doing fine?’

Nebi and Gobomir spent a lot of time together, and with one being introverted and the other loyal and silent, their relationship began to grow.

’I should visit her when I reach the lord’s residence, she might be hungry and need someone to deliver food to her.’

He thought about her smile when he carried in a plate of cooked meat, a gentle smile and soft giggle that would come before they talked. ’I like Nebi...’

"Sir Gobomir?" A squire called out to him, breaking his fantasy.

"Yes?"

"It seems Miss Veronica has arrived... they seem to have come to look for His Majesty."

Gobomir turned to look at the approaching carriage. "Ah, yes." The goblin nodded. "Take two squires and bring her to us. His Majesty won’t be arriving for another day, so we need to prepare everything for him..."

’HUH!?’

Suddenly, a dangerous atmosphere spread; he could feel a tingle in his neck, something that he learned was ’Danger’ from sparring with Gobbolas, who enjoyed hiding in strange spots and sniping him with deadly arrows. "Who!?"

The goblin knight looked around, desperate to find the person who could threaten him. Weak enemies didn’t trigger this sense, and neither did dungeon monsters. So, only someone he didn’t know could trigger this skill; the target was either a demon or a human enemy...

"Sir?"

The squires stood looking around, some with their hands on the pommels of their weapons.

Gobomir stared at the group, the dark elven maid and two other goblins, as well as the elven woman. The last two had no aura or danger to him... it was then that he saw a male with black hair walking through the market. He wore plain clothes, like a villager; he looked handsome, but nothing out of the ordinary.

’That... isn’t good enough.’

Gobomir grunted, his teeth sharpening as he reached for his blade, preparing himself.

"Squire’s at attention, there is an enemy in the city. Be prepared for combat at any moment. Protect Lady Vella and Veronica!" His voice boomed. Gobomir wasn’t the strongest warrior, but his commanding presence was almost on par with Leonhardt’s and Gobbolas’.

All the squires stiffened, gripped their blades, and prepared themselves.

’Who is it... where could the enemy be?’

It wasn’t that he couldn’t sense them, but after the initial danger, it suddenly vanished. That’s when the handsome, black-haired human came close again, his features a little different from those of normal humans.

"Oh? To think there would be such a lewd and beautiful elf here." The human mumbled, "The priests never said elves lived in this shithole." His voice sounded innocent, almost like an inexperienced teenager who saw their first pair of breasts. It made Aella feel sick to listen to him.

’What is he doing, speaking to Lady Aella!?’ Gobomir panicked because the moment he spoke, he felt another tingle.

The black-haired human. ’It was him!’

"Hm?"

Aella didn’t like the way he stared at her, so she stood up, her height and muscles enough to intimidate most humans.

"What are you looking at, kid?"

The dark elf didn’t like it when men approached her like this.

Leonhardt was an exception because she was the one who felt attracted to him first. Thus, when this black-haired human started speaking to himself from a few steps away, she became irritated.

’He’s not bad looking... but completely inferior to him and creepy!’

But his face was twisted, as if he wasn’t quite human but wearing a mask; she could hear him muttering something about elves. "Hey, you! What are you saying?" She turned around and froze.

The black-haired male stood before her, his eyes flashing a strange colour before he spoke again. "How about you come with me, and we have a good time?" His words were low, almost slithering out of his tongue.

"What?" Aella backed away; her instincts screamed at her to flee or kill him on the spot.

’Eh!? Why won’t my body move?’

However, no matter how hard she tried, there was a feeling of control, like hands gripped her shoulders, holding her in place as the man walked over and grabbed her wrist. ’No... No!’ She panicked; fear spread through her as the male’s hand sent shivers down her spine.

"Hey! Stop right there, humanoid scum!" One of Gobomir’s squires shouted, breaking whatever spell was cast on Aella and causing the human to flinch before stepping back.

"What the hell is a goblin speaking about? How filthy." The black-haired male spat on the ground. "Damn rapist interrupted me. Trash mobs should remain trash."

Gobomir walked around the corner with a group of squires, their weapons not drawn but their atmosphere enough to cause people to move away quickly.

"Hmm~?"

The black-haired man turned to them with a sneer. "What do you want?"

His voice wasn’t angry, but rather annoyed, as if they were bugs that disturbed a peaceful meal.

"You are in the territory of His Majesty. Please state your purpose here."

Gobomir’s words caused several people to stop and bow their heads, and some whispered prayers or blessings before leaving.

"Territory of... hahahaha!"

The human laughed, his eyes turning a strange colour as he stared down at Gobomir.

"Kneel and obey me, betray your foolish king."
