Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224 Tianshi Immortal Mansion

"We are strangers to you and have done you no wrong, so why speak such harsh words?"

Donghuang Qing frowned, his gaze fixed on the man who had spoken.

The young man poured himself a cup of wine and scoffed, "I’m just thinking of your best interests. With such weak abilities, why bother humiliating yourselves?"

"It’s not like you’re so amazing! Just a Spirit Grade Inscription Master—what’s there to brag about?" Donghuang Yue retorted, her tone icy.

"A Spirit Grade Inscription Master is indeed too weak. If you want to join Tianshi Immortal Mansion, you’ll at least need to reach the Spirit Grade level."

"The requirements of Tianshi Immortal Mansion are strict. Not just anyone can make it inside."

The man’s companions chimed in with mocking comments of their own.

"My sister might not have reached Spirit Grade, but her talent is no worse than yours!" Donghuang Shan shouted angrily.

"Talent? At your age, still stuck at Spirit Grade, you dare call it talent? If you truly had talent, you’d already be at the Spirit Grade by now," the young man sneered dismissively.

"Haha!" The others burst into laughter.

"What’s so funny?" At that moment, an elegant man descended the staircase from the second floor of the tavern.

"A Heavenly Grade Inscription Master!" The expressions of Donghuang Shan and Donghuang Yue changed dramatically.

"Brother Zhong!" The Spirit Grade Inscription Masters immediately stood and greeted him with respect.

One of them stepped forward reverently and said, "Brother Zhong, these two want to join Tianshi Immortal Mansion. I was merely advising them not to humiliate themselves—being at Spirit Grade, they simply don’t qualify."

"Spirit Grade, is it?" The man referred to as Brother Zhong cast his gaze toward Feng Wuchen’s table, then declared loftily, "I am Zhong Yun, a Heavenly Grade Inscription Master of Tianshi Immortal Mansion. Let me make it perfectly clear: without reaching the Spirit Grade, you cannot enter Tianshi Immortal Mansion. You should head back now."

"Disciples of Tianshi Immortal Mansion?" The faces of Donghuang Qing’s trio turned pale.

Zhong Yun stood tall in luxurious white silk robes, exuding elegance and confidence, his expression imbued with a touch of cold arrogance.

"Did you hear that? I told you not to climb the mountain for your own good. Just go home," the young man from earlier mocked, his satisfaction growing as he watched their disheartened expressions.

Donghuang Qing and the others were thoroughly deflated, their spirits crushed, unable to muster a response.

The very words of a disciple of Tianshi Immortal Mansion left Donghuang Qing and his companions with no hope at all.

"A low realm doesn’t mean a lack of talent. A high realm doesn’t always equate to superior talent—it’s merely a matter of timing. Don’t lose heart; there’s always hope. Let’s just give it a try," Feng Wuchen said with a reassuring smile, patting Donghuang Qing on the shoulder.

"Give it a try?" The young man swept his gaze toward Feng Wuchen dismissively, sneering, "You won’t even get past the gates. Try? How arrogant. Do you think Tianshi Immortal Mansion is your family home?"

"Utterly delusional," another man scoffed.

Feng Wuchen shrugged and smiled. "Unless we try, how will we know?"

"It’s about time. Let’s head out." Zhong Yun spoke coldly and walked out of the tavern, ignoring Feng Wuchen’s party entirely.

"Hmph! Acting all high and mighty," Donghuang Yue muttered under her breath, puffing her cheeks in discontent as she watched Zhong Yun’s arrogant demeanor.

Seemingly overhearing her, Zhong Yun coldly remarked, "Trash can only envy others."

"Hmph! You’re the real trash! Don’t think you’re so extraordinary, and don’t look down on people!" Donghuang Yue shouted angrily, her face full of resentment and defiance.

Being hot-tempered by nature, Donghuang Yue could hardly bear Zhong Yun’s insults.

"Is that so? Then let me be clear: without my permission, none of you will set foot on the mountain." Zhong Yun sneered before striding out of the tavern.

"You!" Donghuang Yue stamped her foot in frustration yet couldn’t do anything to Zhong Yun.

"Now that you’ve offended Brother Zhong, don’t even dream of entering Tianshi Immortal Mansion," a young man gloated beside them, his tone full of schadenfreude.

"Who cares if we don’t get in!" Donghuang Yue huffed angrily, cheeks puffed with indignation.

"Little sister, let it go. Heaven never seals off all paths. If we can’t enter Tianshi Immortal Mansion, we’ll find another way," Donghuang Qing hurriedly consoled her, knowing they stood no chance against Zhong Yun.

Smiling faintly from the side, Feng Wuchen said, "Don’t lose hope. I know someone from within Tianshi Immortal Mansion. Let’s go and give it a shot. After all, in the entire Ling Realm, there’s only one Tianshi Immortal Mansion. If you miss this chance, it will greatly impact your cultivation path."

"Thank you, Brother Feng!" Donghuang Qing perked up instantly and expressed his gratitude enthusiastically.

"You’re too polite, Brother Donghuang," Feng Wuchen replied with a composed smile.

"Brother Feng, is the person you know stronger than that arrogant jerk from earlier?" Donghuang Yue turned to Feng Wuchen with curiosity.

"Of course," Feng Wuchen answered with a grin.

"That’s fantastic! I was worried that if we met the requirements, he might still block us out of spite," Donghuang Yue laughed brightly, completely reassured by Feng Wuchen’s response.

Feng Wuchen smiled faintly and said, "Since he mentioned it’s about time, let’s head up the mountain ourselves."

Within Du Cheng, numerous young Inscription Masters began making their way toward Tianshi Immortal Mansion—some traveling alone, others in groups. Feng Wuchen’s party was among them.

Most Inscription Masters were of Spirit Grade, while fewer had reached the Spirit Grade level. Occasionally, there were talented individuals who had ascended to Heavenly Grade.

"Such a steep staircase—how long will it take to reach the top?" Donghuang Yue stared with wide eyes at the majestic stairs stretching all the way to the summit.

"I’ve heard rumors about the Heaven-reaching Ladder of Tianshi Immortal Mansion. Seeing it today, it’s truly breathtaking!" Donghuang Shan remarked excitedly.

"It’s undoubtedly impressive," Feng Wuchen nodded in agreement, marveling at the grandeur of Tianshi Immortal Mansion, which rivaled the Artificer Guild in magnificence.

At the base of the staircase, disciples from Tianshi Immortal Mansion were actively recruiting. Crowds of young men and women formed long queues to await evaluation.

"Spirit Grade Inscription Master—too weak, poor talent, go back. Next!"

"Another Spirit Grade—talent’s lacking. Next!"

"Spirit Grade... Hmm, decent talent. You may proceed."

"Next! Hurry up, next!"

The disciples of Tianshi Immortal Mansion barked orders impatiently, one after another, rejecting anyone who failed to meet their stringent standards.

"Senior Brother Li, those four over there—don’t let them in," muttered a young man, pointing discreetly toward Feng Wuchen’s group.

The recruiting disciple, known as Senior Brother Li, glanced briefly at Feng Wuchen’s party and nodded subtly.

The man was none other than Zhong Yun himself.

"It’s him!" Feng Wuchen’s party immediately recognized Zhong Yun.

Meanwhile, Zhong Yun cast them a disdainful glance before turning to stride away.

Donghuang Yue gritted her teeth, fuming. "I knew he’d play dirty! Shameless bastard!"

"Why does Tianshi Immortal Mansion tolerate such arrogant and despicable disciples?" Donghuang Shan snarled, fists clenched tightly, wishing he could drill a hole through Zhong Yun.

"Don’t worry," Feng Wuchen reassured with a calm smile.

Before long, it came to Donghuang Yue and Donghuang Shan’s turn.

Senior Brother Li glanced at them and dismissed them bluntly, "Spirit Grade—too weak. Go back."

"Hold on!" Feng Wuchen stepped forward.
