Chapter 1223: Chapter 1223: Tiandu Du Cheng

"Thank you, Master Feng, for sparing us! Thank you, Master Feng, for sparing us!"

Wang Feng repeatedly kowtowed in gratitude, his heart finally calming down somewhat.

The fear he had just felt was overwhelming—even if his own father had been present, it wouldn’t have helped.

"Thank you, President Bai, for pleading on behalf of my Wang family." Wang Chongshan quickly expressed his gratitude, convinced that Feng Wuchen’s decision not to hold Wang Feng accountable was entirely due to Bai Hun’s intercession.

"Family Head Wang, there’s no need to thank me. I did not plead on your behalf; it was simply because Master Feng chose not to feud with your family." Bai Hun replied calmly.

"Family Head Wang, you must discipline Wang Feng properly. In the future, he must avoid causing trouble recklessly in Tiandu. To offend Master Feng today and still be alive—that’s already a stroke of fortune. Take this lesson to heart and do not repeat such mistakes." Yang Qianxiao advised.

"Yes! I will definitely enforce strict discipline." Wang Chongshan nodded repeatedly.

With Feng Wuchen choosing not to pursue the matter, Wang Chongshan was completely relieved. This event marked a narrow escape.

The Grand Hall of the Moon God Palace.

"Report to the Palace Master—there is still no news of the Grand Commander, but it has been confirmed that all the Heavenly Monarchs he brought with him are dead. The incident occurred at the border between Spirit Capital and Tiandu." A Heavenly Monarch reported respectfully.

"All dead?" Chi Qingshan’s expression froze with disbelief and he asked, "Confirm that all are dead?"

"Confirmed. All thirty-six individuals have been brought back, but there is absolutely no trace of the Grand Commander." The Heavenly Monarch answered respectfully.

"Thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs are dead?" The Moon God Palace’s Great Elder couldn’t remain seated any longer, and fear was visibly etched across his old face.

"Yes, all killed with a single blow. The methods were extremely ruthless; based on the wounds, the weapon was a dagger. It’s presumed to be Wind Shadow." The Heavenly Monarch reported.

"How is that possible? The Grand Commander is the strongest Heavenly Monarch in our Ling Realm! No matter how powerful Wind Shadow is, he’s no match for the Grand Commander. And with an additional thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs, how could they all perish?" Chi Qingshan exclaimed in shock, quickly rising and storming out of the hall.

On the plaza outside the hall, thirty-six bodies were laid out in six rows. They were all Heavenly Monarch powerhouses.

The members of the Moon God Palace all carried expressions of fear.

Thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs had set out, and all returned dead.

Protector Lu Yuntian inspected the wounds and frowned, "It does appear to be caused by a dagger, but it’s not entirely certain it’s Wind Shadow’s doing. However, it’s definitely tied to Tianying Pavilion."

Chi Qingshan’s face twisted in rage as an overwhelming killing intent roared to life. He roared furiously, "To dare kill thirty-six of my Moon God Palace’s Heavenly Monarchs—it’s outrageous!"

Although the Moon God Palace wasn’t the dominant force in Ling Realm, losing thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs would severely weaken its strength.

"There’s still no news of the Grand Commander, and he hasn’t returned. It’s likely the outcome doesn’t look good. But with Wind Shadow’s power, it’s impossible to have killed him alone. Perhaps Tianying Pavilion dispatched their elites to support Wind Shadow." Lu Yuntian speculated with a grim expression.

Thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs had been slain. If Jiang Shuihan were still alive, he would either return with Feng Wuchen’s head or be dead himself.

"Immediately take their bodies to Tianying Pavilion! I’ll personally seek an audience with Emperor Ling now!" Chi Qingshan roared in fury. He couldn’t bear the situation any longer.

Thirty-six Heavenly Monarchs killed, and Jiang Shuihan unaccounted for—how could Chi Qingshan remain calm?

...

Tiandu’s capital city.

After leaving the Artificer Guild, Feng Wuchen arrived in the capital.

The capital city was a bustling metropolis, vast in area, incredibly populous, and teeming with powerful individuals and gifted talents.

"The capital city is considered the most prosperous place in Tiandu. Numerous major forces are located here, and behind the capital is Tianshi Immortal Mansion—it should be that mountain over there." Walking along the streets of the capital, Feng Wuchen muttered to himself as he gazed at the towering mountain peak piercing the clouds in the distance.

"Senior Su Xuan is certainly no ordinary figure. If I hadn’t looked into it, I wouldn’t have known he’s actually the Master of Tianshi Immortal Mansion." Feng Wuchen chuckled softly.

"During Ling Realm’s flourishing era, Shengxian Village thrived on alchemy, the Refinement Association dominated artifact refining, and Tianshi Immortal Mansion excelled in crafting inscriptions. These three transcendent forces were renowned across the Heavenly Realm, their disciples spread throughout the realm, and even the eight Great Heavenly Emperors were wary of them. Unfortunately, they couldn’t prevail against the Heavenly Sovereigns." Feng Wuchen murmured.

The prestige of Tianshi Immortal Mansion was definitely no less than that of the Artificer Guild.

After the Refinement Gathering had ended, Feng Wuchen kept his promise to Su Xuan by coming to visit today, which was why he specially traveled to the capital.

"Tianshi Immortal Mansion gathers all the inscription masters of Ling Realm—it’s undoubtedly very powerful." Feng Wuchen thought to himself, full of anticipation.

As he strolled through the streets, Feng Wuchen noticed a significant number of inscription masters. He wondered, "Senior Su Xuan invited me to visit today, and there are so many inscription masters gathered in the capital. I wonder what’s going on."

Not dwelling too much on the matter, Feng Wuchen figured he’d find out once he reached Tianshi Immortal Mansion.

In the meantime, Feng Wuchen stopped at a restaurant in the capital to eat—his spirits were only high when he was full.

Just as Feng Wuchen sat down, he overheard a nearby table of three talking.

"Little sister, hurry up and eat. Once we’re full, we’ll head up the mountain. If you and our second brother can enter Tianshi Immortal Mansion, we’ll finally see a turn for the better." One of the men said cheerfully.

"Big brother, do we really stand a chance of entering Tianshi Immortal Mansion?" The young woman, in her early twenties and quite pretty, asked, looking far from optimistic.

The young man smiled, "Little sister, you have to have confidence in yourself. Big brother believes you can do it."

"With little sister’s talent, she should be able to make it." Another young man added with a smile.

"Excuse me, could you tell me why so many people are heading to Tianshi Immortal Mansion today?" Feng Wuchen suddenly asked from the next table.

Upon hearing this, the young man smiled courteously, "Tianshi Immortal Mansion is recruiting disciples today. My siblings and I are also planning to take the examination. Please, do join us at our table."

"Thank you." Feng Wuchen thanked him, adding, "So it’s for the recruitment of disciples—no wonder there are so many people in the capital today."

"You didn’t know?" The young woman asked in surprise.

Feng Wuchen smiled, "I just arrived in the capital, invited by a friend to visit Tianshi Immortal Mansion, but I wasn’t aware of this."

"So that’s how it is. Why don’t you join us to head up the mountain later? We’ll lead you there." The woman said playfully.

"Thank you." Feng Wuchen expressed his gratitude.

"I’m Donghuang Qing, and this is my second brother Donghuang Shan, and my little sister Donghuang Yue. May I know your name?" Donghuang Qing asked politely and cordially.

Feng Wuchen could tell that Donghuang Shan and Donghuang Yue were inscription masters themselves, though their grade was only Spirit Rank.

"I’m Feng Wuchen." Feng Wuchen replied politely.

"Spirit-rank inscription masters? Hmph, with that measly soul power of yours, you’d best give up. Save yourself the embarrassment of going up to Tianshi Immortal Mansion."

Just as Feng Wuchen and Donghuang Qing’s group were chatting, an irritatingly cold and mocking voice rang out beside them.

"What did you say?" Donghuang Shan stood up furiously.

"Second Brother, don’t be impulsive! This is the capital—don’t cause trouble." Donghuang Qing whispered, trying to restrain him.

"Tianshi Immortal Mansion only accepts exceptionally talented inscription masters. You two wastes won’t even get past the mountain gate. Go home now." The mocking voice sneered again.
