Chapter 47: Tier F Demon Dragon Monsters
Chapter 47: Tier F Demon Dragon Monsters
They woke up to a jolt.
Drahon unconsciously sprang to his feet, and Ayvira rolled as she stood up.
Drahon peered downwards, expecting to see the dragon demon monsters shaking the tree.
Well, that was what was happening, but they weren’t just shaking the tree, they were climbing on it.
Drahon immediately summoned his golden sword.
Ayvira did the same, but this time, she summoned a sword and an axe, brandishing them in the air as she leaped toward.
Drahon was surprised by her level of fearlessness.
He intended to jump down, but not as quickly as Ayvira had done. He wanted to do a quick scan of the monsters before jumping down and beginning to fight them.
Doing a quick scan would enable him to know what he was up against, and that would enable him to know if he was to be brutal or tactical.
But Ayvira? She acted like she didn’t need to know the Tier of whatever monsters she was to face. If she was chopping their heads off, that was it.
She moved gracefully, sending two heads off, doing so with style as though they were puppets.
Drahon did the scan nonetheless, just out of curiosity.
[MONSTER PROFILE]
*Name: ’Weaklings!’
Rank: F
Type: Demon-Dragon Hybrid
Traits: Thick hide, weak flame breath, corrupted essence traces
Behavior: Aggressive in groups, easily provoked
Threat Level: Low
Note: Early-stage mutation. Lacks full draconic control.
He looked at the runes in shame. So they were Tier F Demon Dragon monsters, and he had just been afraid for nothing.
The system had even labeled them as ’weaklings!’
Even though they might be lower ranked, they were very plenty, and Ayvira was now getting tired. She had killed eight as Drahon was scanning the monsters, and now, she was looking towards the tree, at Drahon.
"The fuck is wrong with you?" she shouted at him. "C’mon and fight... ah!"
The "Ah!" sound was because she had just chopped the head off a monster with her axe.
"Sorry," Drahon said as he landed, summoning his shield. He had wanted to activate his Scaled Guard skill, but he decided to save it.
It’d been long since he used his shield.
He drove into a monster, and the edges of the shield pierced its stomach, the inwards sprawling open as it slumped to the ground.
[EXP GAINED]
The words flashed across his retina, and Drahon couldn’t help but wonder that even though he was no longer in the simulation realm, he still got notifications of EXP being gained—game-like stuff.
Well... Dragon World was like a game world after all.
He drove his sword into the stomach of a monster. Bringing it out, he shoved it into the eyes of another and threw his shield (like Captain America) toward the neck of a monster.
It stuck, sending the head from the neck.
Drahon ran quickly and picked up the shield.
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
The words flashed across his retina.
That made him wonder why he wasn’t seeing the exact amount of EXP he gained. Rather, he was seeing [EXP GAINED].
Ayvira slid under a monster (her signature move), and just as it was standing up, she sent her axe straight toward the middle of its legs, sending off whatever was in the middle (which you readers should know) out.
The monster screamed in pain as it dropped to its knees, making an expression of one having extreme pain before eventually falling to the ground.
Drahon looked at the monster fall, making an expression (picture the Christian Bale meme).
’Straight to the balls,’ he thought as he concentrated on the monster approaching him.
He sent his sword into its chin, and just as it was about to look down and grab him, the sword pierced through its jawline and reeled its teeth downwards.
The sickening falling sound sounded like steel rubbing on steel—the one that made mirrors crack.
The monster gave a muffled shout and fell.
And so they continued killing the monsters, sending their hands off their necks and gaining EXP.
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
[EXP GAINED]
Until the very last monster.
[EXXXXXPPP!]
[GAINEDDD!]
The words flooded Drahon’s vision as the last of the monsters fell to the ground.
Same must have happened to Ayvira too because she stood at the spot, gazing blankly forward, as Drahon was doing.
Then they stopped and stared at each other.
Ayvira looked at him and nodded slightly.
"Nice job," she said. "But why did you hesitate before coming down? Didn’t you know they were Tier F?"
Drahon looked at her, surprised by what she was saying.
"Wait, I had to do a system scan. Don’t you do the same?"
She nodded in the negative, still breathing hard from the rigorous fight they had just participated in.
"Whenever there’s a monster approaching and I want to know what Tier they are, I simply gain information about it, and then I know their rank, what type of monsters they are, and their weakness."
Drahon stared at her for two whole seconds before smiling in awe.
"You’re literally overpowered. I have to do a system scan before I know what type of monster they are, their Tiers, their weakness, and all that. At first, the information came in golden runes which only I could see, but of recent, it flashes across my retina."
Ayvira smiled lightly.
"So that’s why you were slow coming down from the tree, checking just to be safe?"
Drahon smiled shyly. [Damn! The female lead is putting him out of character!]
"Yes, had to be safe."
Ayvira walked closer, Drahon becoming very nervous as she drew closer.
She placed a hand on his shoulder and said:
"We’ll be going to the large expanse of land filled with dragon monsters, and after that, we’ll go on to crazy places for the first dragon egg, encountering many monsters and weird half-dragons."
Drahon stared at her beautiful face, almost unable to breathe properly.
"Don’t play it safe, play it ruthless."
Just as Drahon was about to say a response, he noticed that her eyes were wide open in horror, like she had seen something terrifying behind him.
